Seven New Mini Backgrounds Coming Soon

by BadgeHungry on February 7, 2008

We just found seven new mini backgrounds that might be coming soon to a mini mall near you! Some of them look more like greeting cards (”Thinking of you”, “Surprise”, and “Congrats!”, they read) than backgrounds, and the rest are a repeating pattern of smiley faces in various emotional states like emoticons (happy, sad/crying, sticking their tongues out, and winking). These are definitely a change-up from the usual scenery-type backgrounds we’ve been getting lately.

Oops! Sudoku Puzzle Blast features rats

by BadgeHungry on February 7, 2008

We just had an A-HA moment (thanks Oprah)! Pogo’s homepage today shows a cartoon rat as part of its Chinese New Year (Year of the Rat) theme and it looks just like the little critters featured in Sudoku Puzzle Blast.

Happy Chinese New Year, year of the rat club pogo logo

So they weren’t mining mice after all, they were mining rats! Just clarifying!

Mahjong Safari is (surprise) Safari-themed

by BadgeHungry on February 5, 2008

The badges for Mahjong Safari have been created. The game will have a (wait for it…) safari theme and five badges currently depict Pogo characters in encounters with various animals you may find on a safari. There are also two badges which appear to be special or secret badges with a safari-themed look. More news when we stumble upon it…

Relax and Play Premium Badge Album

by BadgeHungry on February 3, 2008

We’ve got more details on the new premium badge album in development. It’ll be called Relax and Play, and it will have challenges in the nine games we mentioned earlier (Mahjong Garden, Poppit!, Jigsaw Detective, First Class Solitaire, Jungle Gin, Dominoes, Word Search Daily, Sweet Tooth 2, and Thousand Island Solitaire), as well as in Rainy Day Spider Solitaire. All of the badges are animated and show scenes of people at play and at relaxation.

Modes in Golf Solitaire

by BadgeHungry on February 3, 2008

Golf Solitaire is now officially in beta, and we’ve got a little bit of new information on its three modes. The modes are Regular, Speedy, and Super Speedy. In the Regular mode, you will get 1 minute and 45 seconds per hole and the game takes 20 seconds between holes. In the Speedy mode, you will get 35 seconds per hole (quite a jump, right?) and the game takes 15 seconds between holes. In Super Speedy mode, you’ll get 20 seconds per hole and the game takes 10 seconds between holes.

To start, Regular or Speedy may be a great place to learn the game, but given that you’ll be ranking up based upon how many hazard cards you clear, Super Speedy is going to be where you’ll be ranking up fastest in this one!

Word Riot “won’t be that much longer”

by BadgeHungry on January 31, 2008

Ah, Pogo… fans of the “coming soon” and “it wont’ be that much longer.”

In this week’s Letters to the Editor there was a mere two-sentence mention of Word Riot’s upcoming release.

“As for Word Riot, patience is a virtue. But even so, it won’t be that much longer.”

Thanks Pogo for giving us yet another subjective time period to ponder.

KenoPop! to get more ranks

by BadgeHungry on January 31, 2008

If you’re like us and have almost completed KenoPop! a mere 48 hours after its release, you’ll be pleased to read this week’s Letters to the Editor in which a member describes the disappointment in finding a new game to be fun, but entirely too short and quick. The response? KenoPop!’s producer stated that they’ll be adding new ranks “as soon as possible”. Of course, ASAP is an entirely subjective amount of time, but we’re all eagerly awaiting more poppin’ action.

Pogo Addiction Solitaire Page

by BadgeHungry on January 29, 2008

Pogo has put up the “tour” page for Pogo Addiction Solitaire. It includes a screenshot and an idea of what the graphics for the game will look like, along with the following information:

Pogo Addiction Solitaire is a quick fix for your game urges! Sort the cards by suit and by value, and uncover hidden powerups and fantastic Pogo bonuses.
  • Earn powerups that keep your game movin’!
  • Play the bonus game for huge token payouts and special edition Pogo Mini items!
  • Complete your collection of unique Pogo buddies

Pogo Addiction Solitaire is the card game you’ll want to play again — and again!

It sounds like it’ll be a lot of fun and perhaps easier than regular addiction solitaire because of the powerups and bonuses.

Rules for Tri-Peaks 2

by BadgeHungry on January 26, 2008

We got our hot little hands on the rules for Tri-Peaks 2: Quest for the Ruby Ring. It looks like it’ll be a blast to play (that is, if you enjoy Tri-Peaks solitaire) and the multiplayer aspect should add just enough to the game to keep us all going with trapped minis and rescue bonuses! It also looks like this new version will have the same rank and badge structure as the original, but with six badges and an unknown (so far) number of total ranks.
