Today we bring you the badge requirements for Sudoku Puzzle Blast (and that game name has been confirmed). In addition to the following ranks, it appears as if this game may have ‘treasure’ that can be collected like the trade items in Thousand Island Solitaire. (”Gotta catch ‘em all!”)
Rank 10: Golden Hills Badge
Earn 1000 rank points
Rank 20: Miner’s Delight Badge
Earn 2500 rank points
Rank 30: Furry Friends Badge
Earn 4500 rank points
Rank 40: The Mother Lode Badge
Earn 7000 rank points
Rank 50: Snack Time! Badge
Earn 15000 rank points
At this point, we know that “rank points” will be earned by placing puzzle pieces, but we don’t know if 1 piece placed is equal to 1 rank point, nor if that will be the actual terminology when the game is released. Obviously this game is still in the stages of development!

Today we learned about the six badges available to players of Golf Solitaire. As you clear more and more hazards, you will achieve higher and higher ranks and earn badges at ranks 5, 10, 20, 30, and 40. In addition, there will be a special in-game award badge, which you can win when you complete 5 perfect holes in a round. The rank badges are as follows:
Rank 5: Bogie the Ghost Badge
Clear 520 hazards to earn this badge
Rank 10: Nine-Iron Chef Badge
Clear 1880 hazards to earn this badge
Rank 20: Rikki Six-Iron Badge
Clear 6040 hazards to earn this badge
Rank 30: Betty the Ballerina Badge
Clear 11,320 hazards to earn this badge
Rank 40: Super Caddy! Badge
Clear 17,960 hazards to earn this badge
Special Badge: Flawless Victory! Badge
Score perfectly on all five holes to earn this badge
Observant readers will note that these badge names do not line up with the badge names in the rules. For example, “The first rank you’ll earn, for instance, is Doug, the Surly Teenager. After that, you’ll get Olaf the Viking, then El Portador, the wrestlin’ caddy, and so on and so forth.” We’re not sure what to make of this quite yet, but we can tell you that the actual badge graphics match up with this list and not the current ‘how to play’ text.

If you haven’t seen it yet, this week’s edition of Letters to the Editor contains a letter from a concerned player who had a bad experience in the original Word Riot, mostly with the ‘boot player’ feature.
Editor: Excellent questions! Yes, the old Word Riot definitely had some features that created some social issues. Thankfully, we have addressed those issues in the new version. Players will not be able to randomly boot people out. The new game still allows players control over bad/obnoxious cluegivers, but innocent players won’t have to fear the big boot.
We’re not sure that any ability to control another player (via muting or booting or any other method) will not result in social issues, but hopefully any player determined to learn and play will be able to do so without too much drama from more seasoned players.

It looks like Pogo’s got some bling coming to the Mini Mall in the near future. You’ll be able to dress your mini up with earrings, necklaces, sparkly vests (men), a goodie in the form of a jewelry stand, a hair hanky (men), and more. There are also several backgrounds to purchase, both with tokens and gems. We’ll let you know when they’ve been released, but in the meantime, start saving up your tokens and gems for these new items!

When you play Word Whomp between today and the 28th, you’ll be entered into the Spark your Batteries! sweepstakes and you’ll have a chance to win a Nintendo DS and a copy of Pogo Island. You can enter multiple times but you’ll only be able to win one prize. In addition, look for the “New You” rooms in Word Whomp to join in the social fun. Also, don’t forget to visit the New Year New You page for your last set of 5,000 free Pogo tokens.

We know the idea of ‘rules’ for a slots game is kind of silly. All it really needs to say is “Bet. Spin. Win — maybe.” But nonetheless, we’ve got the rules for Ali Baba Slots. It’ll have story bonuses (7 Jewels of Ultimate Luckiness, collected each time a genie appears on the spinners) that will progress you through the story and the 50 ranks of the game. Like other games that have been released, it’ll have badges at ranks 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.

Cribbage may be getting an upgrade in the near future. It will probably be a complete makeover of its graphics and will add ranks and badges.

Remember how Spooky Slots’ ranks were based upon how many story bonuses you got? Well, Ali Baba Slots is going to be the same way. It will have 50 ranks and 5 badges and rumor has it that the game is fairly progressed in development, so it could be out in a few months.

The rumor mill is spinnin’!
We’ve heard little whispers around the internet that Tri-Peaks Deluxe will be called Tri-Peaks 2, The Quest for the Ruby Ring. One rumor is that it won’t be a deluxe game at all but an additional game for Club Pogo members. There hasn’t been a single bit of information leaked from what we’d consider to be “official channels” to support this, but as usual we’ll post as soon as we find more information.
