New mini costumes (and Word Riot?)

We recently saw 15 mini costumes and a game show-style background. The costumes are a shivering ice block, a garbage can, a robot, a taco, a chicken, a banana, a mailbox, a lobster, a cheese wedge, a dolphin (or whale?), a pickle, a mobile phone, three blocks (a magic trick?), a triple-scoop ice cream cone, and a carton of milk. Our source also said that the address (url) they found the costumes at hints at these mini items being for… (everyone, take your seats now so you don’t fall over…) Word Riot To Go or Word Riot Deluxe. If you don’t remember Word Riot, here’s a bunch of memories — it was very, very competitive and often turned ugly. If Word Riot is coming back in any form, we’re all in for quite a rollercoaster ride!

More Keno news

Perhaps “Speed Keno” conjured up too many images of cracked-out players gambling away their paychecks, because the new Keno game is now going to be called “KenoPop!” instead. We can only hope this new version is still going to be faster than the current, sleep-inducing Keno!

Speed Keno

Those five badges we saw a week ago were for Keno afterall! They’re going to be part of “Speed Keno”, which will have 50 ranks and 5 badges. We aren’t sure yet if this will replace the existing Keno (which is currently available to non-Club Pogo members) or if it’ll be an addition, or if it’ll be a replacement available to both paid and non-paid members of Pogo. Badges will be at ranks 10 (Big Baller Badge), 20 (Big Popper Badge), 30 (Keno Supremo Badge), 40 (Keno-It-All! Badge), and 50 (Super Baller Badge).

Another Mahjong-type game?

Did you notice in the Behind the Scenes interview with Ira F. that a new Mahjong-type game was mentioned? When asked “Can you give us a hint about your next game?” he replied, “I can tell you that it might rhyme with the word ‘Bahjong.’ And it won’t be exactly like the typical game - it will have a twist to make it unique (and hopefully more fun.)” Well, we certainly hope it’ll be more unique, because we think three Mahjong-type games are already enough — a fourth had better be unique!

Next game to be overhauled: Keno?

We’ve seen five new badges, all including balls of some sort. These give us a pretty good idea that the next game Pogo will be overhauling is Keno. Badges and ranks ahoy!

Tri-Peaks Solitaire Deluxe coming soon

We received word today that Tri-Peaks Deluxe is in development. This will be a downloadable game (like Lottso! Deluxe, The Poppit Show, and the recent Mahjong Garden Deluxe) with six new badges (featuring everyone’s favorite Pogo adventurer, Tex Carter).

Just five days left for many M-n-M’s!

On November 14, many Mix-n-Match badges will be retired. The 20+ challenges were released a year ago and must be purchased (but not necessarily completed) before they are gone forever. When you are adding badges to your Mix-n-Match albums, sort the challenges by Release Date and then go to the last page(s). Any that you haven’t purchsed will be listed as “For sale until: 11/14/2007″. Also, from here on out, each month will have a set of expiring Mix-n-Match badges, so load up those gems and collect them all!

Sweet Tooth 2

Despite a quiet last week, Pogo has released Sweet Tooth 2 — There are now two different ways to play Sweet Tooth. You can play in “Caramel” mode to play with different layouts and features or “Classic” mode to play it as you always have.
