I just got a new computer and it is running Window7. When I try to play a game in Pogo, the game screen is really small.

I have tried playing in both Internet Exporler 8 and Firefox but it is small in both.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so how do you fix it?

Any suggestions would be helpful. I have tried changing my screen resolution but it did not help.

Thanks so much!

I’m running Windows 7 and using IE8 and there is no difference in the size of the game screen from my old computer that was running XP. I did no adjustments when I got this computer a little over a year ago.

Does it say 100% in the lower right hand corner of your game?

Yes it does say 100%. I have even tried 200% and it still is the same. I hate it!! I have searched around the web for an answer to this and it seems I am not the only one with this problem. There is just no definite answer that I can find. The game does not take up the whole game screen and it has ruined Pogo for me!

There is even questions about this on Pogo forums, but nothing works to fix.

I am hoping that someone here on Badgehungry has had the same problem and figured out how to fix it.

    Someone please help! ;)

Try making your screen resolution less. I don’t know where it is in Windows 7, but in XP you right click on the screen background and pick Properties. Then click on the Settings tab. The further to the left you move the slider the bigger the windows will be. Make sure to pick a resolution that is the right proportions for your screen. Mine is set at 1280 x 768. It was originally 1440 x 900 which made everything too small for me.

Thanks so much guys for trying to help! Nothing works when I change the screen resolution through the control panel, it just misses how other things look and does not even help the Pogo game window.

I would have never bought this stupid computer if I knew what a pain in the butt Windows 7 was going to be.

It is not my monitor as the monitor I am using with the new computer is the same one I was using with the old computer that was running XP. The monitor is only a year old and it worked fine with Pogo and Windows XP.

It seems to be a Windows problem and they have no explanation for it. Other games on other websites seem to have the same problem for me and others I have discoverd.

URGHHHHHHH! I am at my wits end!!

My favorite games are all to small now and it gives me a headache to play them. I spent way too much money on this new computer for this to be happening to me. I am in tears with frustration!

Thanks again for trying to help!

Rebecca: did you try going to live chat through Pogo? They can take control of your screen and see what you see. That would help them troubleshoot the problem. If you don’t want to do live chat or they aren’t open when you need them, you can probably just take a screenshot and send it in using their regular help system.

Thanks for the suggestion Lura. After spending 45 minutes in live chat with Pogo. They still were not able to fully fix the problem. They did help me a bit and the game window is a bit bigger. However, they said this is an issue with Windows 7 and sometimes Vista. They said that Microsoft says it is a Pogo issue, but the nice guy who was helping told me it is not just with Pogo games, it is other games and certain sites as well.

He did inform me that I am not alone and several pogo members a week contact them with this problem. Sometimes Pogos solution works but most times it does little to help.

I have discovered that if I set my resolution to the lowest it can go while the game window is open, it does enlarge the screen, but it cuts off the bottom half of the window in games such as Boardwalk Seaball and you can’t throw the ball…… ;(.

So I am stuck with the smaller screen until a solution is found by someone that helps everyone…..lol….spent over $1,000 dollars on a new computer just to find out that Windows 7 is not friendly with some programs over two years old, most printers and scanners over 3 years old and with Pogo…..very frustrating to say the least! I am not computer stupid, but I am not a computer tech and I always thought that Windows would be backward compatible with new drivers installed etc….but it seems that Microsoft wants you to have to buy a new printer and scanner and new editions of most software just to be happy with Windows 7!

Thanks again everyone for trying to help, I really appreciate it!
