Lura, you are up bright and early. Pogo doesn’t even have their challenges posted yet and its 6:57 am here in NV.
Lura 11.04.09 at 10:00 am
RV60: I post about the challenges every Wednesday 30 minutes before Pogo activates them so you guys can get the discussion started early if you would like. Nothing new today as opposed to any other week…

Word Whomp Whackdown can send you to tears. If you’re playing and cannot find any additional words, just hit the “Take Score” button on the left-hand side and go directly to the bonus round. You’ll still get credit for the veggies munched and won’t have to sit until the timer goes out.
Yahtzee Party is a no-brainer. Fast rooms in Wild Mode is the best way to go.
tigger 11.04.09 at 10:45 am
only suggestion i have for yahtzee would be play under wild/fast tab and play normally, although i am just gettin the 20+ for chance and not worrying about playing lol
EdC 11.04.09 at 11:12 am
WWW- don’t forget you can freeze the timer by clicking a name in the who’s here list.
mmklima 11.04.09 at 11:34 am
At first I was going to say, “duh, WWW has a pause button”. Then I realize what you are saying. The pause button covers the game board. And clicking on a name doesn’t.

I just got my yahtzee badge. It took me two hours but I enjoyed it. I watched a movie at the same time and managed to rank up too! I am not looking forward to the WWW badge but Thank You EdC for the tip. I will go try that later on.

Yahtzee: make sure you have 20 or more points on a chance. Go for it when you have it for your best chance.
WWW: play on easy AND play the speed round
Jakers 11.04.09 at 12:50 pm

I was working on the Yahtzee badge this morning. I got to 8/25, then suddenly it stopped giving me credit towards the badge. I have played 8 more games, but no credit. Is anyone else having this problem with Yahtzee?
mmklima 11.04.09 at 4:13 pm
Did you go out of the game in Yahtzee, clear your cache and then go back into Yahtzee? If it stops giving you credit, you have a bad streak for that room.
Go out of room. Pay off Spike (he is nasty when he doesn’t get his bribes). Clear the cache and then go back into the game.
Sapphire23 11.04.09 at 4:30 pm
Is there an anagram site or something similar that can be used for WWW? it’s not my best game, unfortunately :(
Ban 11.04.09 at 5:11 pm
Pogo got a nasty Letters To The Editor from me and 3 others who have been having trouble with Yahtzee freezing, My computer is update-to-date, Java is up-to-date, I have 2 gb of ram.. what else do we need now? A Facebook account? LOL… Seems to me Pogo is too WORRIED about “Facebook” to deal with the REAL problems.
KodiacCub 11.04.09 at 5:12 pm
Tip for Yahtzee Party: play wild rooms on fast and room jump if you are just going for the badge. Will cut out a bunch of time.

Thanks for sharing that, I also tried it on TP and it works! You have saved me much frustration when I’m in a timed game and someone calls or comes in!
tlc 11.04.09 at 10:44 pm
hi all you badge addicts. And I am one of them.
For WWW you don’t need to play the speed round. When I munched into the mushroom at the top of the game I clicked on new game, git credut eacg time, it went fast. Also if you click on chat options it will freeze the game for you.
Have fun all.
thx for great job Lura

I, too, want to thank EdC (5) for the WWW hint. It made a ton of difference being able to pause and examine the letters for additional words so I could get that darn gopher to munch more veggies!
Pixie 11.05.09 at 1:12 am
Thanks so much Frank and EdC for the tips, you made the impossible possible with WWW!
Vics 11.05.09 at 1:17 am
I combined the mix n match challenges with www and yahtzee. Got all 4 of them. Yahtzee was time consuming but I enjoyed it. Word Whomp Whackdown is one of my favorite games so I really enjoyed both challenges. Also I believe in www there is only 8 veggies between the round and the speed round no matter what level you play on. I played on hard but someone in the room said she was playing on easy and was getting 8 veggies.
Good Luck everyone
Sheljin 11.05.09 at 2:10 am
Edc – I will add my thanks as well. I had no idea that you could pause a game like that. It was a BIG help. I love love love tips like that – just a nice little giftie. lol

For those of you having problems with Yahtzee freezing and/or not loading: You are not alone and you need to contact Pogo’s customer support. I have yet to hear of anyone who has found a fix for this.
EdC 11.05.09 at 9:33 am
YW for the WWW tip. It has been brought up in other threads by different people, I was just reminding everyone ;) By the way I play this game on hard and I noticed I only earn not quite half a point towards rank each round…geez!
Sheljin 11.05.09 at 11:30 am
Okay, I have never played with the wilds in yahtzee, but since that is a nearly unanimous recommendation, I will give it a try….just because of you guys. lol
I am one of those people who generally DON’T get to play & finish the new weekly badges right on Wednesday (or even start them half the time!), so it looks like that embarrassing flaw of mine lucked out for me this week — being able to do my weekly with the special badge that just came out. hehehe

Contrary to tlc saying don’t play the speed round, I say do it because you can get 8 veggies per game if you complete all the normal words on EASY (4) and then 4 more in speed. I got mine in less than 1/2 hr and have done 3 other ppl so far, lol….I LOVE WORD GAMES. Yahtzee although took longer, but a fun game and easy to get the badge for sure. That took maybe 2 hrs, but was enjoyable. Hope everyone has a great weekend, thanks Lura for all you do.
Snowyjoke 11.05.09 at 12:45 pm
Hi all, if you have problem to fill in the words in WWW you can use the following site: http://www.thewordfinder.com/scrabble.php
Also in the speedround, remember the lettres and use the pausebutton, fill in your letrres in the site and resumed in WWW and fill in. It works very easy for me when I have problems with some lettres.
Yahtzee I play on fast room with wild modes and it goes realy fast. Play also an M&M and an Premiumbadge and it takes me less then 1 hour.
Good luck all!

Being a 1st time poster here, I was going to add my tips, but ev1 i’ve read pretty much covered it! But I do want to say, I’ve read ALOT of good info from this site & tthere seems to be alot of great people here. Way better site than badeaddicts. Thanx for the info & gl2all!
Sue 11.05.09 at 5:09 pm
Ok I must be doing something wrong in WWW, tried EDC’s (#5) trick by clicking on a name in the Who’s Here to get the timer to pause but it didn’t work, tried again and actually clicked to see a profile and still didn’t pause the timer, any idea’s?? This old brain of mine needs more time to process letters into words
ellen520 11.05.09 at 6:59 pm
Sue (#27)…press the little bar that says “chat options” and it will pause the timer! Good Luck!
Rick 11.05.09 at 8:05 pm
I prefer not to use helps, but if you really need the help. For WWW, you can use this site. It’s not exhaustive, but at least it will help and will give you the edge you need to get your brain a-movin’!
http://www.youmightbe.com/pages/wordwhomp.html
Also, a much better site for Scrabble and Word Womp as well as Word Jong, you can use: http://www.wineverygame.com/. It also has a Boggle Solver.
I enjoy Pogo and even with its quirks it’s still cheap entertainment. And for all you soda drinkers, in case you didn’t know, coke rewards points can be used to buy club memberships. And at 550 points for a year, it’s not too bad. I’m more than 1/2 way there!
nessa 11.05.09 at 8:06 pm
This week challenges wasnt as bad as I first thought after reading some of the posts. Yahtzee was easy, takes 2 hours in fast rooms and I combined it with the Thanksgiving badge , i rank up and I won $5 (woohoo!) in a jps so I really can´t complain about this challenge.
For WWW I played it on easy and I got it in less than 1 hour, not sure if this is good or not but considering that I´m really bad at this game guess it was ok. No need to find all the words and do the bonus round, is easier than the “normal” round and there are 3 veggies there that counts towards the badge.
Cyrabi 11.05.09 at 10:06 pm
Hi all. For WWW I played on Easy. Use the Mix Up button to find more words, add an s if you can, and see if you can spell words backwards. For example BAT is TAB spelled backwards. I guess playing in fast rooms for Yahtzee is a good way to get the badge. Good Luck All.
Sue 11.06.09 at 1:32 am
Many thanks Ellen520, that helped alot!
Deb 11.06.09 at 9:25 am
Someone earlier asked about an anagram site. I use anagrammer.com for all the word challenges. Helps a lot.
I open up a new window for the anagrammer, then go to game, write down all the letters, put game on pause, go to anagrammer to get words, then open up game side by side and start typing. Hope this helps some.
Jan 11.06.09 at 10:22 am
To pause WWW RIGHT click on a name in chat or on the Chat Options tab.
I have had some say that this did not work for them. Each time you type into the puzzle or click on the letters the timer will start again. But you can right click as many times as you need to. This also works for the speed round.
