Happy Halloween Everyone, Be safe and Have fun!! I am looking forward to this weekend with the new m/ms and the new puzzle coming out. I love the mini awards and I have accumlated all of them until the new ones are released and I will see if I have been awarded those, if not I will play the game till I can accumlate them as well. In the meantime, I have been winning the awards on the other great site, Big Sea Games, unfortunately you cant display those badges but it is fun to win the awards for the games. Just like Pogo I am hooked!!! Thank you Lura for keeping me updated with Big Sea Games and with Pogo, you do a fantastic job!! Happy Halloween!!!

Hello everyone!

Yes indeedy Pogo is keeping us busy this week. I have so much going on in the real world so I am trying to chip away at all these badges…kind of lousy timing for this marathon week(for me anyway).

As far as mini awards I think I have them all except Seaball. I kinda like the rollercoaster background in that game but not enough to play it.

Let’s hope Pogo adds more mini awards to these games at higher levels because I think most of us had them earned already. Also I think the artwork for most of these awards is pretty lackluster and I don’t use them…but then again I’m not really into the whole mini thing.

Be safe this weekend!…and keep your kitties in the house (especially Halloween night). I’m taking precautions with the neighborhood stray that’s been living on our porch. He’s spending the night in the garage so I don’t have to worry about him :)

I still have 4 of the currently available mini awards to get. 2 in Boardwalk Seaball, 1 in Crazy Cakes and 1 in Keno Pop. Am looking forward to the new ones coming out and kind of hope they aren’t for fairly low ranks like the last lot so that I have to work for a few of them…lol

Lura on this weeks weekly challenge thread you posted a link to Letters to the Editor about the Poppit glitch being against TOS. I was interested in reading the editors comments but when clicking on the link I couldn’t find any mention of the letter “Cheating on Challenges”. Can someone tell me which date I need to be looking at or could a link be posted directly to the letter?

i really wish they had given more thought to the Mini Awards as a whole. getting them all for the lower ranks isn’t very exciting. i feel they should have dispersed them more as they do with deluxe games–one at rank 5, 15, 25, 35, and the final rank. and they should increase in “value”: rank 5 ought to be some teensy Goodie, rank 15 could be a t-shirt with the name of the game, rank 25 Designer’s Choice, rank 35 might be a complete outfit that pertains to the game and finally finishing the game would give you a nice background (maybe even animated!) that proclaims you reached the final rank on a banner or cake or something.

i rarely use the mini awards–too often they’re Goodies and as clumsy as i am, i don’t like things laying around by my feet, lol.

and i ABHOR the recycling bit. mini awards that i’ve already won in Word Riot or Jungle Gin aren’t awards, even if they tweak them just a little bit. that’s just lazy. put me on payroll, pogo, i have some good ideas. ;)

all that whining aside, i’m glad they started doing them. there’s always something i manage to use at some point, and some of the newer ones coming down the pike look nice.

Yes, I have every mini award item that has been released. I had to force myself to play Boardwalk Sea Ball, but really wanted that background. I was born and raised close to the Jersey shore, and it reminds me of home :)

Yes, I will play a game just for the mini awards. When Lura put out the list of the upcoming awards I checked to see what games I needed to rank up in. I’ve been playing Makeover Madness off and on for a week, even redoing 3 of the weekly badges in there this week.

I think that the mini awards are a close second to badges, just have to have them all…LOL

I have only used 1 background and 1 goodie when dressing my mini. There are a few that I will probably never use, but need to have them all in my closet, just in case.

With all the challenges this week, I forgot the new case for Jigsaw Detective comes out Sat. night. It will have to wait a few days for me to get it started. I have 2 club pogo accounts. With the 2 extra challanges and then the weekend challenge, I’m going to be busy.

I got the QQ done for both my accounts. Someone told me (if you get the lower or middle row prize choice) to look for the one that is ever so slightly more lit then the others. Since I didn’t hear about that until I was almost done, I didn’t get a real chance to check it out.

I don’t really change my mini much. So pretty much slap on some Halloween something and let it go.

Halloween is pretty much over in my area. We had treat night last night. So by Sat. night, I’m over it. (except for parties or get togethers.)

Happy Halloween from snowy Denver! Feels more like Christmas around here than Halloween. It is actually pretty common here for those poor trick-or-treaters to have bad weather. Somehow a skeleton in a down coat doesn’t have quite the scare factor! :) Kudos to EdC (3) for thinking of our furry friends. I got my best friend when our former neighbors moved and abandoned their cat. I couldn’t bear the thought of a black cat being unprotected on Halloween so he came to live with us.

It has been nice to sit on the couch at night cuddled in an afghan and work on the badge marathon. At first I thought they were giving me some special reward for reaching 1 year of Club Pogo membership, but then I did my daily BH visit and found out everyone got the marathon. :)

I do find the mini awards an extra incentive to play some of the games. I particularly want the costumes and backgrounds. Kiki (7) is right – they should have made it a bit more challenging to get some of them. For Thousand Island Solitare you can get all three mini items by rank three – where’s the challenge there?

Well, I’ve now got all seven badges! Badge heaven indeed. I don’t do Premiums or Mix and Matches, so this is a great week for people who don’t like to pay for their badges.

I managed to get caught up on both sides of Trivial Pursuit early Monday morning, so now it’s just a matter of doing two games daily.

For those who like Spooky Slots, might as well make the most of it this weekend – before they take the game back down. I ranked out earlier this month, but I’d like to make the goal of completing a second story. I’m at the part now where Jack gets a pumpkin from some shady men, and he lights it up.

Actually, I have fun with my mini, although I am about the only one who ever sees it as I tend to play in rooms by myself! I have all of the game award stuff except one from MonoSlots, and no incentive gets me in there beyond a badge week! I would like to be able to clean my closet like I do in real life…no way am I ever using some of the items POGO has gifted me with (Grow a Pet, the goodie, and the goodies from TriPeaks2 come to mind) so I would like to purge them and not have to walk past them when choosing my next outfit.

BTW, has anyone noticed in Boggle lately, that our avatars are receiving more compliments than our skills? Just yesterday, I was stunned to receive the following after a round: “Simply Marvelous! A Big Shout out to Cocomlis for looking so awesome!” Now, I realize my word skills are mediocre at best, but it just seemed a bit weird!

hey robin, it can come in handy to have an appealing mini (and who knows how to define that!). i’ve been gifted tokens in Addiction Sol and Yahtzee Party simply because someone said they liked my mini. at least they’re earning their keep, LMAO.

I found it odd that earlier I dressed my mini up as a bee (the costume was released in the mini mall a few weeks ago) and yesterday afternoon I picked up a bee costume for myself…I didn’t plan it to work out that way or anything. How weird is it to dress up like my mini rather than my mini dressing up like me?

Like Jan (# 13) I experienced the Halloween “snow event” here in Colorado…it was a great week to be indoors and have extra badges to work on! As for those mini-awards, like many of you I received them automatically as they are awarded for such low ranks in the chosen games. I don’t really play the games I don’t enjoy (Monopoly Slots, LOL) just for the mini-awards, though I will play for a short time for a badge.
And I heartily agree with Genevieve (# 6) that we nominate EdC for being a great person and worrying about our furry friends as Halloween approaches…Kudos to Ed!

I do play the games to get mini awards I do wish they would award more further in the ranks gives more a of a motivation between rank badges .
on the news i mentioned last weekend its a no.so looks like i will have to get some fertillity drugs or something been trying for a family for over 2 years i’m sad.i just can’t wait to have a family.

Happy Halloween everybody! A party tonight and another tomorrow! I had to do all my badges yesterday (and the special one today) just so I won’t have to worry about them over the weekend or at the last minute.

I don’t go after mini awards. I don’t change my mini too often, so the new stuff isn’t exactly enticing. Besides, many of the mini awards I wouldn’t even bother using. I just play games because I like them or am compelled to get the badge for it. Mini awards? Not a thought crosses my mind.

So far for the mini awards I have all for the games I enjoy and a few for the games I’ve worked on badges for. I’ve used a few items for my mini but I usually don’t find them that interesting. I think they are a nice bonus and will eventually work on the ones I don’t have.

I’ve been busy for the last two weeks so I haven’t spent that much time at Pogo and now have a lot of catching up to do with badges and reading on what’s been happening here with new games, facebook, etc. Pogo’s been very busy!

I have all the mini awards but 3.. It gives me an incentive to play games I wouldn’t normally try, I do use some of the items from time to time, and u never know when they will come in handy, so like having them in my closet. Does anyone know once they release the new one’s will they keep the one’s all ready available? If Anyone can give me any hints or pointers for Penquin Block, you would be saving my sanity…that game is about to drive me crazy! I just can’t seem to get it. Hey Moms, yes, I’ve been entering the Coke Rewards numbers ASAP…hehehe…even BEFORE I’m ready to put in fridge. I have about 6 cases in the garage without any flaps. I’ve asked my friends to buy Coke products and give me the numbers…they all think I’m a bit crazy. I think the numbers can only be used once, so if I enter it into my account, the number is not good for anyone else. Sorry about this thread…Yes, Lura I have all the minis and use most of them; however, I’ll be glad when Halloweenie is over so I can get out of these duds. Oh, and by all means you should have the latest version of sun java before installing -Xmx300m.
For some unknowen reason, some puters with large amount of memory are limited to how much memory they can assign to thier java VM, If you experiance problems, just reduce the 300 to some smaller number (like 250, 200, 150 etc)

Happy Halloweeny to all the little ghosties and goblins!! Still hot here in Florida but we are expecting a cold front next week (80 instead of 90 – lol). It is actually hotter now that it was this entire summer (go figure).

I purposely play the games to get the mini awards. I was in Seaball but played like mad to get the mini items. I have used a couple of the items with my mini but mostly they stay in a trunk in my closet. (Okay it is a BIG trunk!!!)

rock – I hate to sound like an idiot but am not computer savvy and neither is my hubby. As a dutiful Pogonian native, I check my e-mail and then go straight to Pogo. When I followed your instructions, I found four javas enabled (1.6._15 / _07 and two 1.5s). Which one do I type the info next to and then do I recheck enable? And how do I reduce the number 300 that you mentioned?

I found that working with a friend in bloop made the ranking out of this game very easy. I can not remember how we played it exactly to obtain rank 50. But I know we were able to get like 22 points each a game. there is a pattern that you have to play. I guess I will have to go back to play it to remember. Unless someone has got an explination of that patteren. Good luck Bloooping…

I don’t normally go after the goodies. I play my regular games and if something comes with it I’ll take it. I do love dressing up my mini esp at Halloween. Was so hard to decide what to put and I’m still thinking of changing it today LOL.

For granny – #56 – If you go to the top left of this page there is a tab that says Badge Tracker. Once you sign in it will take you to the list of games and you can update them with your new ranks. Once you are signed into your badge tracker you will also see a tab, upper right, that says album progress. There you can update your progress of your weekly badge albums and premium badge albums.

For laura – #58 – If you have a month with green checks on every day then you should have the badge. If you should have the badge and didn’t get it you will have to email Pogo support. They will probably ask you for a screenshot of the calendar showing a month with all the green checks on it.

yes kudos to you EdC for caring enuff to keep the kitty safe and fed. 2 years ago we took in a stray and someone took him on halloween,someone called us on november 11th,he just showed up on their doorstep.sadly after we moved to the farm in 2008,he disappeared again in november,we have not seen him since :(

and finally – we just took in Miss Kitty last weekish-the owner had abandoned all 3 of her animals when she abruptly moved out a couple months ago (the new owner didnt want the 2 cats either,george fights with other kittys so hes an office cat now)-Miss Kitty was always outside-rain or snow it didnt matter,we took her in and she never went out again :) sadly she passed the 29th – bless her soul she was 19 :)

so pleeeeeease everyone keep your pets in this weekend-where they will be safe from harm and loved.

This program has been a big success for Coke since it started in 2006. I don’t see them stopping the program since they recently added a program to donate to schools and have increased the number of charities. But that’s my 2 cents for what it’s worth :)

It is called “matchmaker badge” and since I had made 50,001 matches (when i got it) i would guess that is what you need to do to get it. I also looked on badges and ranks here and didnt see it so maybe no one noticed that they got it ROFL

trick or treating just finished here in GA..so disappointed in the parents today..only about 20% of the parents walked with their kids the other 80% stayed i in their vehicles on their lazy butts going from house to house following their kids it was terrible a parade of vehicles . my greatest memories of halloween was the surprise on my childs face of what types of candy she got & the ppl who took the time to greet them at the door in costume & or praised her for having a great costume..so very sad & no excuse for weather which was perfect about 74 degrees ..ok done with venting & thank you

I was wondering if there was any way to get stickers of the badges we earn? I like having a “hardcopy” to put in my own album. I tried to copy the badge and paste it in MS Word, but the picture is way to small to make a sticker out of it. Any suggestions on how I can do that? Do you know if POGO will ever have something like that available?

Other people use the block system to determine how many puzzles are needed to be finished. I use the percentage way.

I only do the puzzles on medium or hard.

The pieces start out in the same spot for all the puzzles. Its just that on hard they rotate.

For medium, each puzzle is worth 4% of the total case. So that would be 25 puzzles for a case. (if you did all the puzzles on medium.)

on hard, each puzzle is worth about 7 1/2 % each.

Remember that no matter which difficulty setting you use, the hint puzzles are always worth 4% of the puzzle. (on easy, medium or hard.)

So on hard, it will be 17 puzzles. (5 hint puzzles and then 3 puzzles between each of those.)

Oh, since the hint puzzles are only 4% no matter what setting you use, you might as well do those on medium. (if you do the puzzles on hard setting.)

Rock, I keep a very very clean PC with none of the novelty stuff, etc. on it and I was having probs freezing, etc., but tonight I played about 100 games of Tri-Peaks while running back and forth and dispensing candy to the little kiddies in the hood for Halloweenie and lo and behold….NO problems (so far) after fixing my Java per your suggestion. So far so good. Will report should I experience any probs, but again thank you so very much for the fix! Regards, Mari

Id like to know how everyone is reading badge hungry? Looking for tips and tricks on how to get around here easily. I just get the feeling Im missing alot by the way I am reading on here. What I have been trying to do is to put the date in the search window. But some dates are typed differently than others? Well you get the idea of my question. i tried to buy the new mix match badges but it kept saying that i was not a pogo member, it kept removing them .

For dawnply – # 98 – At the top of this page there are 4 tabs, the one on the right says Pogo Game Ranks & Badges. When you click on it you will see a list of all of the games. When you click on Mahjong Safari the in-game achievement badges are shown, right above the rank info.

For wanda – #101 – I had a problem last night, wouldn’t let me add any of the badges to my cart. It kept saying there was an error on the page. I closed down all my open windows, did a quick disc cleanup, and finally was able to buy the badges. I lost about 15 precious minutes before I could start working on them – LOL

For Dawg # 100 – I do them on easy b/c it’s relaxing to me. After all this time I can do just about all of the old puzzles in under 2 minutes, takes longer for the JP spin and to load the next puzzle :) And I figure that with 73 JP spins a case I may get lucky and win $5 or 5 gems one day.

I like the badges moe than the mini awards. If I get them while playing, cool!
I do have a question about the coke rewards, which I use. If you stock up on pogo subscriptions using the coke rewards, credit them on Pogo and they expire Jan. 31, 2010, will you not have wasted your coke reward points and screwed yourself out of pogo subscriptions because they expire in January on Pogo? I called Pogo about that and no one could answer my question. Now, I scared I just wasted my points and I will not have a Pogo subscription come January.

Tech support I love the idea ! We all know in the end we are responsible for what we do or don’t do. But sometimes we just need that little help. Which brings me to my question. In some games, Lottso Express for one. After the spinner the sound will get stuck. Might hear the dreaded ding ding ding until new game starts. Other times it will continue only stopping if I go to another room. Then there is the times it will continue to ding ding ding even after Pogo has been closed Any suggestions for a solution on this problem? I too had no help from the pogo help LOL Thanks for you time and consideration. Sandy

Friends, You cannot get a tip any better than this and I hope Lura supports this..
You can save yourself from dashing franticly to a computer repair shop for an immediate fix so you can get back on pogo or this great site (lol)and save yourself money in bench fees.
About every issue or problem with a solution as well as how to to this or that no matter what it is, CAN BE FOUND ON GOOGLE, using the right keywords even if they are close to what you mean.
Essentially, You have your own computer repair service at hand and most all are FREE, yes even programs to help keep your PC in best of shape are FREE.. such as AVG, Auslogics, Secunia etc.
All above is true with exception of losing your hard drive, shorts or blowed chips in mother board, video card and bad power supply.

Only thing you need to remember is, “GOOGLE IT”

For Jj5653 – #105 – Once you have added it to your account it is activated and will add 365 days to your Club Pogo membership.
If you had the confirmation email with the code from Coke Rewards and did NOT enter it, then the code would expire. You just need to activate it before the end of January, not use the 365 days of membership.

And for those that will not have 550 points for a 1 year membership to Pogo…..you can also get a 1 month subscription for 75 points or a 3 month subscription for 250 points. The annual is a better deal, but some don’t drink diet coke like I do :)

I’m feeling like I belong in Pogo 101 class today – after checking Lura’s wonderful list of mini awards, I realize I’ve probably “earned” most of them, but can’t for the life of me remember how to claim them. Help!

Earned all my badges this week and helped hubby rank up in First Class Solitaire last night. Then stayed up all night reading a book – I haven’t done that in ages. When I woke up, found out my 90-year old Dad went to ER this morning for weakness in his legs, so not really into playing games much today. I went in yesterday to get my Special Ed Spooky Slots badge and on the 3rd spin I got 3 spiders~badge done in less than a minute, needless to say I was quite happy. Been playing that game since I came to Pogo never had gotten spiders till last month. Have a great rest of the weekend.

Sounds like Trick or Treat night was either a bust or a boom out there! It was a big bust at my house…1 kid, lol Oh well, maybe next year!

I have a problem with Mahjong Safari. The game loads and then shuts down after it shows up on screen . Reading the Java Log, seems there is a Memory problem somewhere. Kinda like Rock was saying, and the Pogo Error Page says my computer doesn’t have enough memory to play this game. BUT, I was playing it a month ago. WHAT CHANGED??

Besides that–I have 8 GB of RAM on a practically brand new computer! It also has a quad-core processor @2.20 GHz….now why all of the sudden can’t I play this game?? It’s the only game I can’t play.

I tried Rock’s suggestion, but no luck :( I wrote to Support–ROFL A joke AGAIN!! Then on Live Chat–THE GUY HUNG UP ON ME!!! He didn’t know what to do, so he just hangs up?? YEP!! That’s what he said, but I got the “BRB” but he never came back! :( How RUDE!!!

Anyone else have THIS problem with THIS game?? I know about the Cripes Error and I only experience it in Jungle Jin. I can fix that Error and not have it again. This one is new to me and I’m really pulling my hair out!! I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled my Java about six times and done everything else I can think of!! Even generated a systems report to see if the computer could find the error…NADA…. Nothing is helping!! :(

I too, keep a very clean, updated computer, running Vista Ultimate, w/IE 7. Virus scans and Frags run every week like clockwork. It’s all set to be done automatically.

Anymore suggestions??? My puter Tech doesn’t even understand it!! And he worked for IBM, Microsoft, and Dell for years!! And he’s tried several things too…

Rock #109: I have “Googled” my computer errors and the one I cannot get help on is BSOD error (Blue Screen of Death). My computer is shutting down consistently with this error. I have done everything I know to do and my computer still shuts down while I am playing Pogo games. My computer is only a year old and I am fixing to blow it up. So, if you can help with that, bring it on!

As most all techs know, The blue screen of death is most generaly 95% of corrupt, missing or malfunctioning drivers within the OS, The best and surest way to correct that rather than spending the time trying to track down the cause (source) is to Format your HD and reinstall the windows OS, now when some has no choice but to do that, You may want to Install a better version than what you have and a few including myself went to the more powerful and versital LINUX OS.
In short there can be so many reasons including a bad reading HD.
A HD, picture as you will is like a record, the laser that reads it like the arm with a needle on a record. Even If thier are no bad sectors it reads whats there and cannot read what may be missing, so if it reads a corruped area or cannot read missing DLL. files lets say, then WinOS is programed to shut down, giving you the BSOD..
without having your computer here where i can run Diagnostics with my testing equipment, that is something that cannot be fixed be corresponding text, now 1 yr old puter is worth fixing provided you did not stick TNT in it and run, lol but if it was much older it is cheaper to buy a new PC, with more processing speed, more RAM etc.
I sincerely regret that I too cannot help you on the actual cause of BSOD when there are so many issues to consider.

I’m glad that I got all caught up on Trivial Pursuit, then – if the UK side is gonna have questions different from last year, from now on.

I guess we don’t have much time left, but I just observed a little something – for those who are interested. I finished a complete story for Spooky Slots for the third time, and it seems like the final story bonus gets bigger each time.

A resulting question I have is this: Does anyone know if the same holds true for Ali Baba Slots and Sock Hop Slots?
