HINT…..when you play this game go for the xs that the plane drops in groups of 4, that is where the Power Ups are..get two power ups at one time and you heat Heat Seeking Missles that are a very big help.

these will prove to be interesting, but then again this could maybe be like the one in game award badge from mini golf madness the birds eye badge cause the challenge for that says just get 99 birdies to get this badge and when in all reality you actually had to play 99 games under par on the birds eye course.
hopefully they dont make the bots to hard, and for those that can handle it a few hours of double browsing should get us some of these badges

Quite frankly, I expected more from Pogo in terms of rank badges. Seems like theyre starting to slip. But the icons for the rank badges arent so bad, the last one with the 5 stars as the rank 50 icon is pretty cool. Everyone says this game was going well in Beta, so I guess its worth a shot to try it out.
Lura, is it gonna come out this Tuesday(tomorrow) or next Tuesday? Cause I know new games usually come out on Tuesdays, if Im not mistaken.

Sounds like this might be fun. Was wondering is there any other game award where we need to “miss” to advance towards a badge. They set up many weekly badges where winning isnt the object so this 50000 misses for a badge it right on target with pogo’s badge creators. LOL
Now exactly how many misses can you get in 1 game. HAHA

I think you have the badges and the names confused. A two bar is a captain and a 1 bar is a Lieutenant. so the badge you have for rank 20 should actually be the one for rank 40 and the badge you have to rank 10 should be for rank 20. not sure about the others but rank 50 looks ok.

Nessie: it’s entirely possible. This is the order in which they were created (and numbered) by Pogo’s staff, so I just went with that order. I have a feeling we’ll know for sure sooner, rather than later. :)

angel98366: this is the same information I posted a few comments prior. The Pogo facebook and twitter “mirror” each other, so the posts are the same. I prefer Twitter as it doesn’t require me to have to see the deluge of comments they get on FB. :)

I like that pogo is adding more game award badges to their games lately, but sinking 2500 battleships is going to be a real stinker. That’s playing 2500 games at least!
I like the overall look of the badges seeing how they didn’t make them all cutey cartoony.

The more graphics I see and info I read, the more I am looking forward to this game!
Would be excellent for me if this came out tomorrow as hubby has gone to Hong Kong today on a business trip and a new game is exactly what I need to keep me occupied till he comes back.
As for the 2 non rank badges I think I’ll get the 50,000 misses badge before I can sink 2500 ships…lol

I’ve been on the Battleship Beta and I have found it a fun game. The graphics are cool (well, all Pogo graphics are cool, lol) and the game works a treat. I wasn’t a particular fan of it growing up, but I think I’m going to like it now. 50,000 misses ought to come sooner rather than later too!

Nessie, I am sorry to say, but Naval ranks are completely different than the rest of the armed forces.
an ensign is equivelent to 2nd lieutenant an is displayed as a single bar
a naval captain is equivelent to (Full Bird) Colonel and is displayed as a eagle,
the ranks displayed for this game are accurate

Sinking 2500 ships really isn’t too bad… If you win the game (which I most often do…) you sink at least 5 ships and sometimes 6 (yay powerup!) As far as 50,000 misses? That will take a bit to do… but games tend to go quite quick and, I will be honest… you do tend to miss most of the time… But also, there are power-ups that allow you 4-9 shots at once (using only one turn) so… it’s not as bad as it seems when your in the dark.

Remember it is 2500 Battleships and not just any ship. There’s only 1 Battleship each game.
Any idea on how many shots for the ranks? The 50000 misses may seem to take a good while,though not as bad as the 2500 badge.

Neo: I’ve been getting some rank data from my little birdies, but I don’t have it all yet. The first few ranks are pretty easy — 80 shots for the first, 230 for the second, 380 for the third, and it climbs exponentially from there all the way up to 50. I don’t know off-hand what the average shots per game is. I should have a completed Battleship ranks page added to the game ranks section a few days after the game is launched, I’m sure several people will send in the rank data as they rank up quickly in the game.

i hate to tell u pogo may increase from what they are in beta test no1 really knows and really knows when gm will release and ppl in testing are not suppose to say anything at all about things in testing they can get banned for it

Oh Battleships, haha… I missed that! Even still, games go by pretty fast… and it’s nice that the special badges cannot be done in a day or two (like in Mini Golf) but arnt horribly tedious (like in Everyone Wins Bingo)

Carolyn: The annoying thing about the Pogo Facebook account is that he doesn’t always post about Pogo-related things. He could be talking about a new game or feature on Pogo, or he could just as easily have been talking about a new bicycle he bought and was going to ride to work. Annoying to play such guessing games. Either way, Pogo’s “today” is not over yet, so whatever this thing is that is coming out still has plenty of hours left to not turn Pogo_Bret into a liar.
Anyway, let’s keep this on topic to Battleship and not speculate when it’s coming out (or not coming out, as it may be). :)

Something Cool might be mini related since the maintenance window for this game is done. Anyway doesnt seem that hard to rank up and if you double browse no doubt will go very fast especially the add on badges. My brother always liked this game more than I and he usually plays something in my name when hes working (he works nights in a drug rehab) so maybe Ill let him play this one and wait it out for Risk and the block game.

If you go to http://www.pogo.com/pogo-prizes-promotions/promos/game-night/landing-page.jsp?intcmp=pp_game_night it says there will be a game night with battleship on Nov. 6th. So my guess would be that is the release date.

As a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer I can tell you the ranks are in order for the most part. Rank 21 thru 24 are all messed up.
Just a note about the Chief ranks. They should have the three shevrons topped by a rocker.
Rank 21 is CWO5
Rank 22 is not a rank
Rank 23 is CWO4
Rank 24 is CWO2
The rest of the ranks are in order except they forgot a couple.
one single gold bar is Ensign, Army, USMC USAF it is a 2nd Lieutenant
one single silver bare is Lieutenant Junior Grade – others are 1st Lieuten
Rank 25 = Lieutenant – the others are Captain
Rank 26 = nothing because there are no two gold bars for ranks
Rank 27 = Commander – the others are Lieutenant Colonel
Rank 28 = Lieutenant Commander – the others are Major (Lower than 27. Rank 27 and 28 should have been switched.
Rank 29 = Captain – the others are Colonel
Rank 30 = Nothing because there are no gold eagles for ranks
Rank 31 = Rear Admiral, Lower Half – the others are Brigadier General
(This at one time was a Commodore)
Rank 32 = Nothing because there are no gold stars for ranks
Rank 33 = Rear Admiral, Upper Half – the others are Major General
Rank 34 = Nothing because there are no gold stars for ranks
Rank 35 = Vice Admiral – the others are Lieutenant General
Rank 36 = Nothing because there are no gold stars for ranks
Rank 37 = Admiral – the others are General
Rank 38 = Nothing because there are no gold stars for ranks
Rank 39 = Fleet Admiral – The others are General of the (USA, USMC and USAF – This rank is reserved for wartime only)
Rank 40 = Nothing because there are no gold stars for ranks
