I’m not too keen on challenges that force you to forgo the bonuses for doing the daily games daily (i.e. the Crossword and Trivial Pursuit ones this month). [Yes, the crossword one can be earned without skipping a daily bonus if you do the first in the late evening and the second in the early morning, or if you play both the US and UK puzzles, but still...] I do have a couple weeks from several months ago I never got around to doing in TP, so I won’t have to wait at least.
On other notes, glad to see they’ve FINALLY released another Quick Quack mix & match (only the 2nd one since they started the M&M badges), and also glad that the challenge for the special M&M will be reasonable after all.

Kinda stinks though that you have to give up your episode bonuses for the trivial pursuit one to save up 4 to do in one day. If I’m interpreting the requirement correctly, that is. LOL

Just an opinion, but it seems to me “they” are seriously increasing the expense of staying current with pogo now. 12 MMs + Special Edition + a new book that’s like $20+ to stay current. I may be wrong but I am thinking last year at about this time we were getting 4 – 6 MMs per month and a book like every 3 months .. now it seems a book every month and double the MMs. What’s it going to be next year 50 MMs per month and 2 books?
Ok Rant off – I do wish they would increase the “free” content for paying club members vice creating more ways to drag coin from our pockets.

Thank God for that change. I dreaded the challenge. On a side note, I noticed no update to the Mini-Golf game as far as a new monthly badge. Think they’ll release it later like the Halloween limited?

can someone explain the trivial pursuit mnm? get 4 wedges on daily or calendar puzzles in 1 day? what if your all caught up, do we have to wait 4 days before we do our daily’s? why does it not surprise me that pogo would make an mnm like this, i just finished the hog heaven mnm and it took over 3 hours grrrr but went up over 30,000 in tokens, did a lot of room jumping seemed to help a little

On the subject of the wacky things Pogo does to us Club members: I don’t know if any of you have noticed, but for the past while Pogo has been releasing Mix-n-Match badges in the same games as the Upcoming Weekly Challenges.
The next six games for the next 3 weeks of weeklies are, for example: Crossword Cove, Phlinx, Addiction Solitaire, Lottso!, Hog Heaven Slots, and Trivial Pursuit. The challenges don’t line up as nicely as I’d always like, but now you can be sure to have two extra M&M’s each week to line up with your weekly challenges.
Dan13′s right about them bleeding us dry, though. I buy all of the M&M’s each month not just to try to complete them eventually, but also to keep track for the purposes of the badge tracker and this year my expenses have far exceeded last year’s. Ew.
Wolfe: I’ll make a post about Mini Golf Madness later today or tomorrow — it’s worth mentioning that there hasn’t been a new course yet but the first of the month isn’t over yet and I am not certain new courses will be loaded in (at least initially) like the rest of the first-of-the-month additions (M&M’s and jigsaw case, etc).

If there is logic in PogoWorld, the following should work on the Trivia M&M (since I will only buy the badge once it is on sale it will be a while before I find out) : Get the US and British wedges at say 3PM Eastern on day 1, and then get the US and British wedges on day 2 at 2PM Eastern (or whatever combination works staying within a given 24 hour period). That way you don’t give up your daily bonuses and you do still win the badge in the 24 hour “day” as specified…

i actually like the TP challenge–i confess i never stay current in the game and a challenge like this is do-able. i can stand 4 rounds of the game at a time, and that’s about it. and while i love crossword cove, i still don’t attend to it daily. i’m sure there are a few of us, and these accumulating MMs help us catch up.
also nice to see a new Aces Up challenge!

Hmmm, not bad choices this time around (except for Harvest Mania =/). I already got the Aces Up and Crossword Cove badges, hoping to finish all these real soon.

For those of you who play Crossword Cove on hard level…When you change to medium difficulty, it’s actually NORMAL difficulty. It would be nice if Pogo’s challenge matched the wording in the game!

Hi Everyone, I have a question about getting the m/m challenge in Crossword Cove. I do the puzzles on hard (thanks to this site) but I guess I have been spoiled so does anyone have any tips for getting the puzzle done on medium? Thank you for all your help.

Genevieve: if you’re using the solutions archive, there is no difference in gameplay between hard, medium or easy. :) The answers are the same either way.

thank you for this great site!!!! i appreciate all the work you do, even though i forget to tell you. just a tip for those of you who don’t like harvest mania…..i did like it and ranked out when it was introduced. if you play on medium, you should be able to go up to or through year 4. the longer you can play without starting new game of course the more tokies you’ll get. if you remove the rocks immediately, by putting 4 veggies next to them, it will be easier to get through the season. i was hearing many complaints today about how long it was taking. hope this helps someone.

@ fier666: The only tips I can think of are to just focus on the 3-letter words (I mean seriously, 600 is a tad ridiculous)
And remember to scramble the letters up a lot, it helps.
And try every possibility you can think of, even if you think it isn’t a word. They put some weird things in these word games.
I’m working on mine as we speak, and 1/6 the way done. It’s hell!

You actually don’t need to lose any of the daily tokens in Trivial Pursuit.
All you need to do is activate the badge in the afternoon (7pm eastern is midnight in the UK) and do the US and UK for that day, and then do the next day in the morning, or anytime within the 24 hour period.
I just activated the badge (6pm eastern) and did the US and UK for October 2nd, and I will do the US and UK for October 3rd tomorrow morning….and will still have 8 hours of time left.

Genevieve – You don’t have to win the game to get credit for the cards you removed. And it only takes about 12 or 13 games to finish the badge if you win the games. Suz

My question for the group: Hog Heaven Badge. I have been working on it for 3 hours straight (my eyes are rolling in my head) and have not gotten a single spin. Anyone have any tips? It would be very much appreciated since I am ranked out in this badge and would like to get the badge before the end of the time period.

For Jeannie #32 – Took me 3 hours for the first spin, but got the next 4 in another 3 hours. I stayed in the same room, some people said they had better luck changing rooms.

Okay, my tip for Hog Heaven and ALL games is…when you aren’t having much luck in a particular room, then move to another and another until you find a room that is “lucky” for you. I’ve noticed that especially in Mono Slots and Everybody is Mean in Bingo (hehehe). Good luck all!

They quickest way I found for the word whomp badge was just to find the 3 letter words, munch the big carrot and hit new game. You still get a spin and rank progress as long as you get that first big carrot. Good luck

This might have been said, but for the Trivial Pursuit badge, you can just do older days in the calendar, you don’t need to go to the UK site and wait hours for the next day’s puzzle :)

I have to win 2 puzzles in crosword cove on the medioum dificulty. So I went to the answers for today Oct.5, 2009 and compared the questions on the puzzles to those in the game for today and the words do not match for the answer- for example- questions (1) is ______california (4) letters and the question isnt even the same. So how can they all be the same on any level??

MaryAnn: the answers on this site are correct and the answers are the same no matter which difficulty level you choose, so most likely you’re just not on the right puzzle. Try going to the calendar and choosing the puzzle by date (also always choose New Puzzle instead of Saved Puzzle).
