Happy Weekend Everyone!
I hope you all had a great week, especially playing the newly released Mini Golf Madness (I know some of you were waiting a LONG TIME for that one)! If you have any questions or comments about the game, please read through the actual Mini Golf Madness post and associated comments beforehand: there’s tons of great information there.
This weekend, I’m giving away 25 3-month passes to Club Pogo (thanks to donations from Jennifer, Katherine, Carolyn, and Barb)! To earn an entry, post a comment as you usually would in this weekend open thread and include a tip or hint for a Pogo game. A game tip must be included for your comment to count toward the drawing. On Sunday evening when I close out this thread for the week, I’ll use a fancy-shmancy random number generator to choose 25 comments that will win!
The fine print:
* Please don’t spam your tips, the system won’t allow you to post more than one comment in a row anyway. I won’t approve any comment that says something like “I want a sweepstakes entry” or “I want to win”.
* If you don’t want an entry into the drawing, don’t worry: if any comment chosen by the random number generator doesn’t contain a game tip, I’ll skip to the next one for the prize.
* I’ll be using your tips to create a game tips section of this web site to help other players. Please try to use proper punctuation and grammar. Your tip must be your own words, do not copy and paste a tip from another site (that’s plagiarism and incredibly rude).
* You must use a valid email address in the comment form to win (otherwise I will have no way to contact you). It’s okay though, I’m the only one who will see your email address and I promise I’ll only use it if I need to contact you about your entry or if you win.
* You may earn multiple entries, but I will be giving away only one prize per person (unless, of course, less than 25 people enter, in which case I’ll award multiple prizes per person).
If this weekend’s giveaway goes well, I’ve got more Club Pogo passes to hand out and we will have more giveaways in the future. I reserve the right to add more bullet points to the fine print as the weekend goes on. Thanks, and good luck!
Also, don’t forget: even with all of this contest/sweepstakes/giveaway stuff, this is still the weekend open thread, you can still ask for help, offer help, talk about the latest happenings, ask questions, whatever you’d like.
See you in the comments!

I can’t come up with a tip on any particular game without a specific question posed, but I’ll posit a tip many people forget while playing – have fun! One thing I’ve noticed while reading this site is so many people get so angry over so many seemingly inconsequential things. Gaming is supposed to be enjoyable. Surely you’ve got things in your life that deserve the angst you output towards Pogo and their games. Or maybe directing your anger towards Pogo is a healthy release. Guess that’s another way to look at it. Smile!

Lura 09.04.09 at 9:39 am
Candi: come on, you’ve got to have some game you love playing and you can help someone play it a little easier. “Have fun” is nice, but it won’t work in a “Game Tips” section of this web site. :)

First I would like to say Thank You Lara for showing me what the “free” items were. My tip (not sure if it’s been mentioned) for Mini-Golf is to turn off the sound. It stops the freezing and the cripes errors. It worked for me. Have a safe and happy holiday everyone.
Marithoner 09.04.09 at 9:49 am
Lura, I don’t have anyone to send my passes to, so you are always welcome to use mine any time to give out. You do a great job and service here and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and try to help out!
Candi 09.04.09 at 9:53 am
Okay. (I thought it was helpful…) Maybe not everyone knows you can type in your answers in Boggle – at least I didn’t when I first started playing. I was using the cursor and it really bogged (pun intended) me down. And since I type really, really fast, I get alot more words that way. Now I’m at rank 39. Also, I’ve been looking at the 8+ words after each game and am shocked that most games don’t have any listed, which makes that 10 letter word badge even more impressive for those who’ve gotten it.
carol 09.04.09 at 9:54 am
My tip is for mini golf madness while playing for the 99 holes under par badge play all your games on warm up as its the easiest course to do it on and you can still rank up faster.
Janet 09.04.09 at 9:55 am
I’ve been able to win all of the extra badges in Mini Golf except for ranks. After I won the Birdie Badge, I didn’t receive it, but Pogo tells me their engineers are working on it.
Tip 1: Don’t save your power-ups. Use them early since you get a lot of them.
Tip 2: Tornadoes –Easiest way to get through them is to go full power on the edges.
Lura 09.04.09 at 9:57 am
Candi: See, that’s perfect! I was just thinking of the framework of the site and what I plan to do with the tips submitted — thanks for the Boggle tips, they’re great.
Marithoner: you can send them in if you’d like. There’s a link at the bottom of every page to contact me, but right now I’ve got so many I’m not sure how I’ll ever hand them all out!
Mbpmorris 09.04.09 at 9:58 am
Hi just a quick question Lura can we win if we are in the uk. Heres my tip weather i can win or not, In Golf Solitaire instead of keep moving your mouse to the pile to click next card just right click and it flips the next card for you.
Tina 09.04.09 at 10:03 am
I know alot of people have trouble getting perfect on the squid round of boardwalk sea ball. I have alot of ppl asking me in the game how I do that. What I do is keep my cursor right where they come out and always get the red and yellow/orange ones first (since they are faster) I usually get them before they even get started lol. The green ones are slower so you can wait longer to hit them. I get a perfect every time. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. :)
Lura 09.04.09 at 10:03 am
Mbpmorris: you can win, but I don’t know if you’ll be able to use your code or not… I’d think no, but I could be wrong. Technically, I’m not giving away the Club Pogo subscription, I’m just giving away the code to enter on ClubPogo.com — it doesn’t matter on my end whether ends up getting used or not. Make sense?
Mary 09.04.09 at 10:08 am
In any word game — Boggle, Word Whomp, always look for common suffixes. For example: ed, ing, er, s. You can usually rack up a lot of words in Boggle if you have the right letters and have one of those suffixes in there!
Jewls 09.04.09 at 10:14 am
My tip is for Ace’s Up! First you can right click the mouse to deal the next 4 cards. Also, a second tip is that you can use the undo button if you get stuck to go all the way back to the beginning of the round to rearrange cards early on to solve a block later in the game. Another good tip for all of you slots players is that in most slots games you can hit the spacebar to spin the wheels again. Hope some of these help you all. Thanks for the great site Lura, I use the Crossword and TP answers almost every day!
Cristine 09.04.09 at 10:17 am
Hi Lura, First of all, I love your site. Second, what a great thing, passes to pogo! My tip is for boggle, I have a great track record in the game and love it more than any other game… I find one word and play it out completely before moving on, such as eat, eta, ate, tea, and if there is an s you are set. With one set of four letters you can almost always get 5+ words out of it! GL to all, and have a great weekend!
Kali 09.04.09 at 10:17 am
For boggle bash I first always look at the four squares in each corner. All four blocks usually contain a word. Ive almost ranked out in there and haven’t been playing long. Even though you can type in your words I have found that I find longer words by just clicking. Have a great weekend.
Susan 09.04.09 at 10:18 am
My tip is for any of the Poker badges. You can do this by double browsing, using 2 computers, or finding just 1 person that is willing to lose a few tokens.
Go into the “Low Rollers” rooms. You set up a private table and you can play with just 2 people. It only costs you 1 token per hand to play.
Once the cards are dealt you just check, neither has to bet. Then all you need to do is have 1 person fold, and the other person wins the hand.
A few weeks ago I helped someone win a few poker badges and it actually took longer to set up the room than it did for him to get the first badge he needed.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!
Cyn 09.04.09 at 10:19 am
This is my tip for playing “Thousand Island Solitaire”. If you want to move up in rank and still rake in the tokens do the following. Make two of your columns equal to 700 points. Now concentrate on that very last column, trying to make it equal 1000. Use whatever hazard cards you need or even a life preserver. When this column reaches 1000 points, a 300-point card will drop down. Use that 300-point card to make a 700 point column increase to the 1000 point mark. That will allow another 300-point card to drop. Use it for your last 700 column. There you go. A win and a spin!
Oh, and thanks for the contest! And, thanks to those that donated memberships. What a novel idea.
tami 09.04.09 at 10:25 am
My favorite game is Monoply, I love playing against the bots. I usually find that if you can get the 3 light blue ones, the purple set next to it of lots and build houses on it, your pretty good to go once you get houses & motels on it. I usually win everytime against the bots :) Have a great weekend everyone!!
tabbyn 09.04.09 at 10:25 am
i do not really have a tip except i like to play in hog heaven and seems to be a lot of drama in there so take chat off if you do not want drama and use halos to score points
sassy 09.04.09 at 10:26 am
Hi everyone! Wow..Labor Day already, where did the year go?
Ok, my tip is for Mahjong Safari…Don’t worry about the time (unless its for a specific badge) and get all the single critters out of the way if possible, so you can do the double animals 2 in a row, counts more tokens than time and sometimes one can get up to 7 or 8 doubles…lots of tokens there.
WTG for the minigolf badge procurors! The back nine keeps killing me every time…
Thanks Lura for a great and informative site…
Cyn 09.04.09 at 10:32 am
I’m sorry Lura, but I just have to post this game tip too:
If you want to win at Trivial Pursuit, visit Lura at BadgeHungry.com because it’s the best site in cyberspace! :)
Lura 09.04.09 at 10:34 am
*laugh* Thanks Cyn, but buttering me up will get you no extra entries. :)
Steph 09.04.09 at 10:39 am
My tips are for mini golf, fortune bingo and gin…. for the mini golf madness game when it come to the tornado area. I have been using the stop power or hitting the ball not so hard till it stop just before the area that has the tornado, then i hit the ball harder so it can get thru the tornado.
Also if anyone is looking for games to rank up in, I sometimes play the old fortune bingo game especially when I am trying to get my eyes tired for bed…lol… anyway I usually play in a room by myself and it is usually easy to rank up in it because you need bingos to rank up and well if u are by yourself you are guaranteed a bingo so I play blackout in a room with 0 or about 3 ppl in it……
For gin if anyone struggles with the badges that contain having to underknock your opponet and you have noone to play with, I have tried playing with the bots, setting the table to private and the bots usually always knock, try to match your cards as quickly as possible and only keep a 2 or 3 in your hand and wait for the bot to knock, if you can get a gin while u are waiting let it go, its not to often that the bot doesn’t knock…
I hope these made sense and are able to help people out…..
Faith 09.04.09 at 10:42 am
My tips are for Lost Temple Poker. There are 2 ways to help Tex get across the bridge faster.
l) When Tex goes from the second to third stop and the boulder rolls over him and is BELOW (MUST be BELOW) the level of the bridge, left click anywhere on the screen and Tex will advance one more stop.
2) This one is rare to get, but works. Tex is at the start and you get an ADVANCE 2: when Tex lands on the second stop and the boards from the bridge start to fall, click anywhere on the screen and Tex will advance one more stop.
El 09.04.09 at 10:45 am
Hey all Happy weekend. My tip is in monopoly here and now. When trading with the bots I find it freezes up on me when i hit ignore all trades and will keep freezing everytime it gets to the same bot but if I make a low offer to the bot thats freezing and he can trade again it seems to correct the problem and the game runs smooth.
butternuts657 09.04.09 at 10:49 am
Hey E1 great you all are having fun in pogo. Now i have a great tip on the game word whomp there is a site that can help all you not so good spellers like myself.Go to boulter.com stroll down to you see scabble words clikck on it go to buddy click it there will be a small screen come up at that time mins down on big screen keeping the little screen there type in the letters on the game that they give you to spell the hit antigram a list of words will come up for those letter. Its a great place to help.I use it when i play and omg it works. If any one needs to ask any ? about it please fell free to email me an ill take you thought the steps to help you get started. Thanks have a great day frances_cox@yahoo.com
Mike 09.04.09 at 10:49 am
“World Class Solitaire” i’ve noticed, has two different types of freeze issues. I play this a lot, so I have it down to a science, so to speak.
Freeze Issue #1: When you have ALL the cards in the deck face down when the game freezes, (especially if you are close to winning), just be patient, relax and wait 2 minutes….go back to click on the deck and the game will continue. Weird, huh? It does work though. :)
Freeze Issue #2: Unfortunately after the game freezes, once you have already flipped some cards from the deck, you must forfeit that game, leave the room and reenter. Sorry! :(
Hope this helps and enjoy your holiday weekend everyone!
P.S.
Waiting for two minutes also helps often in “Monopoly: Here and Now”.
Bob 09.04.09 at 10:52 am
My tip is for Stellar Sweeper. After the first block is cleared you usually open up a big portion of possibilities. You have to always think BLOCK OF NINE. Now find the # 1 that only has one block left to clear and that one you right click. When you find a number and picture it in the middle of that block of nine, if you see a 2 and can see two crystals in the eight spaces that surround it, then its safe to left click the remaining blocks, which will eventually release the gas jets for a spin. If you concentrate and doing the counting you can almost do a perfect game each and every time.
Monica 09.04.09 at 10:53 am
To Rank out faster in Bingo Luau I play blackout in a sharing room so all the numbers are called and you are able to get more spins that way.
CindyLou4764 09.04.09 at 10:56 am
This hint may seem obvious but it may not be to everyone. I’m not the best player of Boardwalk Sea Ball but I usually get quite high scores in the Battle Boats mode (the one like Skee Ball). My hint is to take an extra half second before shooting the ball and look at the numbers at the bottom of the grid. For instance, if they are 4 5 2 5 5 3, aim the ball between the two 5s. Always take a quick look and aim the ball between the highest two numbers. You can’t have full control of where the balls go as they hit the spikes and bounce, but by taking this extra half second to check the numbers on the bottom, I usually have one of the highest scores in this mode of Boardwalk Sea Ball.
Jan 09.04.09 at 11:01 am
My tip is a general tip for most solitaire games especially aces up and any other game that features an undo button. Don’t forget to use the undo button. It can often help you achieve badges or in a game like aces up, it will save time in adding planes to your squadron.
Remember to use your Undo button. Sometimes you will see a different way to win the game.
Another tip-Be sure to read Trivial Pursuit questions and answers carefully. Many times the answers are almost given in the questions.
Of course we have Lura to thank for those answers but sometimes my eyes can’t deal with having two screens up and switching screens.
Have a good weekend!
Jan 09.04.09 at 11:07 am
Great Idea Lura for giving away the three month passes to Pogo…My tip is on the Mini Golf Madness…on the windmill if you aim your ball right at the black center of the fan and pull back to make it go fast, usually nine times out of ten it will go through the windmill fan and give you a hole in one..did this by accident and when I had to redo the game uhmmm a few times LOL I tried it again and it worked..made it to rank 10 last nite..and got all the game badges except the 99 under par one…but heard Pogo is having problem with that badge….thanks for wonderful site Lura…gl ev1
Gecko 09.04.09 at 11:13 am
What a great contest idea!
My tips are for Penguin Blocks: You can spin a piece by right clicking in the game area instead of going down to the rotate button. Head to the piece of seafood the penguins are heading for first and watch the number of dots they have – that’s the number of turns until they get to that seafood so you can calculate how much time you have to set up a combo if possible.
Get that pizza before those nasty penguins do!
Adam W 09.04.09 at 11:19 am
I think the new mini items are really sweet , and the mall certainly looks more ‘stocked up’ now! As i am not yet a club pogo member (my subscriptionnran out in July), i’mm happy that the game is not a club pogo exclusive. My tip for the Mini Golf Madness is no pay attention to the hills , which if not done correctly , can add a slight curve. Also , if you get the ‘big gulp’ powerup , try and use it as soon as possible , vas this power-up is the most common to appear , and critically , the most important.
Lura 09.04.09 at 11:22 am
These are great tips guys, keep ‘em coming! I’m not sure we need any more tips for Mini Golf Madness, though! If you guys keep up at this rate, we’ll have six pages of tips for MGM and a sentence for each of the other 90+ games at Pogo. :)
John 09.04.09 at 11:24 am
Re: Comments 10 and 12
It should be fine to use as it is just a promotional code. Use the following link and just copy and paste it. If it does give you any trouble sign in on US side of pogo but I can’t see any reason it should.

Hi all — i have 2 tips:
Dice City Roller: when you have an empty card, it usually is better NOT to just click on it, which automatically sends the highest numbered die/dice to it. Manually start off your property cards by dragging exactly the dice you want there to them. (This is especially important in terms of filling in the “EXACTLY” and “OF A KIND” cards — and the FULL HOUSE ones too). You don’t want to “waste” dice — especially 5s and 6s.
Addiction Solitaire: Instead of clicking on the empty spaces to fill them, focus on the lit-up cards and clicking on those to move them instead — especially when there are 2 lit up next to each other. When there are 2, click on the 2nd one 1st — unless it’s a K. You gain an extra space that way without using a power-up or reshuffle.
Hope these tips help! The contest is a great idea — thanks!
Tammie 09.04.09 at 11:32 am
When I need to do housework I play Bingo Luau in the sharing rooms by clicking all the numbers after the game starts and going off to clean then returning a few minutes later to do the same thing…You get credit whether you click on bingo or not…This way I rank up and still have time to clean house….Also in Pogo Addiction in order to rank up all you need to do is uncover the 3 mini pogo characters (they always have a gold star on their cards) and then hit new game..You do not need to finish the game itself….
Monica 09.04.09 at 11:46 am
One of the advantages of paying to be a club pogo member is that we get pets for our mins well where are they the past few monhts they only pets that have been released is the pet of the month and you have to have gems to get it where are the pets for those of us who don’t have gems and use only tokens in the mini mall pogo says new pets released every month but it’s only been one pet per month for a about 2 or 3 months now
Ayli 09.04.09 at 11:46 am
Hi all and happy holiday weekend!
I have a tip, that not really mine. It was given to me by a lady that helped me get old Backgammon badges. So I don’t know if that will qualify me for the contest.
If you are playing for the win in Backgammon, your partner could leave the table after all the pieces went to the home side of both players. In this case, you are getting an automatic win. It’s fast and efficient. :)
I also would like to ask for help here. I have 2 badges left to complete for 2004 year book and they require 4 person in the room. Both are rated games and I don’t know if anyone wants to get their ranks diminished. :( The games I have left to do are: Euchre (win 5 games) and Spades (win 3 250 points games). Anyone knows how I can get help? I’m in Eastern time zone. Thanks in advance.
Thanks to the good people on this website that suggested to get 2 accounts, that helped me a lot with 2 people games that I needed for my badges :)
Linda 09.04.09 at 11:56 am
Okay, I know there are a lot of tips for Mini Golf but I have not seen this one listed. Don’t forget to use the zoom on tricky holes and you can move the playing field around by holding down the left mouse button. I have also made Rank 10 and have all the current badges except the Birdseye badge. Thanks Lura for the great site, it’s my first stop every morning.
Moskitella 09.04.09 at 11:56 am
My tip is for Stellar Sweeper. I don’t know if many people know this but once you have some numbers uncovered you can click the number to see which ones around it it is specifying for that specific number. I do it all the time and it helps me out a lot and tend to get perfect games that way (unless of course I hit a crystal while trying to open it up at the start of the game) I also play solely on Terra once I opened it up and found that I rank up fairly fast on that one.
Oriaston 09.04.09 at 12:16 pm
Okay, got a good one for you. In Word Whomp-Whackdown… If you click on the ‘chat’ option button….it freezes the timer. As soon as you click on something else…the timer restarts, but It does give you extra time to search for a word or review the ones you already have. :)
nicole 09.04.09 at 12:16 pm
Happy week end!!! I have a little tip to getting red 3′s a bit faster in canasta that some may not be aware of..You need to play in a four player room, but with only two people and two bots…..ya HAVE to have two human players!
If the bots get 3 or more 3′s, one at a time, stand and switch seats….Don’t both stand together or it resets game. You will get credit for the 3′s and it really does go much faster this way….Hope this makes sense to everyone.
OH! you need to make table password protected so no one else joins game.
Happy seat jumping!!!!
RV60 09.04.09 at 12:22 pm
This may be pretty basic but seems to work for me. When playing Keno-Pop pick your numbers and then stick with them. It doesn’t really make much difference which numbers just be consistent. Over time you will do way better. I find this to work for me at the Casino as well. lol
Have a great and safe weekend all.
maria 09.04.09 at 12:23 pm
I love love the new game. Been playing all the course. I wish had add more then 50 ranks hate to get this game done I won’t have nothing to do now.
donna 09.04.09 at 12:30 pm
hello all and have a safe weekend
my tip is for tri peaks if you have two cards that u can chose from it is usually better to chose the card that covers up two cards than just one. You will have two cards uncovered that might help u continue ur way to the top of a peak
Kay 09.04.09 at 12:34 pm

I have been doing seat hopping for years,
I thought everybody knew about I told alot of people that is how my friend and I ranked out in canasta both times in 2 months .Ofcourse I love the game I am helping another friend rank out now,The tip is best thing sense “slice bread”lol I can’t say it enough how much I love this site .Lura if I wore a hat it would go off for you I know it takes alot of time to keep this site going! Many thanks to the peopl that help you!
Cookie 09.04.09 at 12:40 pm
I know i have a lot of tips for a lot of games that i regularly play. I can’t really think of many though and I read through to make sure i didn’t accidentally repeat someone else’s tips….so here goes: LOTTSO
While playing in rounds 1-5 I tend to save the ‘big’ scratch cards like aces up for later on when you might get a x2 or x3 bonus. what i do is i fill the cards and then scratch a few numbers so that if i do only get like 100 on it it’s not a big deal but if i’m sitting with like a 500 score i just keep it sitting there. then hopefully i can get a x2 or x3 bonus on it and i finish scratching it. another tip if you get in late on the game and you have charity cards and it has a bonus and you are on the board but at the bottom, you can give yourself charity cards! oh and this one is a given but try to save your team cards for when a lot of people are using them. it’s kinda nice to have 3 cards almost full and then lots of people play and you get 1500 points. these tips should help you get jp spins a lot.
good luck and happy long weekend to everyone! I got a nice 4 day weekend but it hasn’t started off so great so I’m hoping it picks up. Someone PLEASE buy my condo lol
Therese 09.04.09 at 12:42 pm
My tip is for Steller Sweeper, when playing on the Terra planet, click on one of the corners and 9 times out of 10 it’ll wipe out a ton of squares. This does work best though when playing on easy, although it does help greatly with the other difficulty levels as well.
bappitoo 09.04.09 at 12:44 pm
When you play Crossword Cove, press enter to move to the next word instead of clicking on the space. It saves having to go back to the mouse instead of just staying with the keyboard.
Thanks, Lura. I love your site and visit daily.
Deb 09.04.09 at 12:45 pm
Can you believe that summer is almost over? we did not have much of a summer here in Upstate NY. But I’ll tell you that when the weather was good…it was really GOOD!
My tip would be for World Class Solataire. Don’t use your power-ups until you’re stuck, and then just use one until you’re stuck again. Use Shuffle if a card you need is in your draw cards, and use Grab if it’s buried face-down under your red/black stacks. Hope this helps
garnetfrost 09.04.09 at 12:49 pm
Hi folks, happy weekend (and holiday to those of you in the US)
My tip is for Lottso! Express. On the mega card, go for the border first, then try to make a giant X across the whole board. it seems to help me fill the whole board more easily. Also, dont use your extra ball slots unless you only have six balls left or cannot place the numbers in your tray elsewhere.
Sila 09.04.09 at 12:51 pm
Great website! I love keeping track of my ranks and badges here. Keep up the good work.
My one tip is on Crossword Cove: Use hints on power-up clues, they don’t reduce your payout by very many tokens and they can help you work the answer to several clues at once. Also, use those power-ups as soon as possible to get the most benefit.
Penny 09.04.09 at 12:54 pm
Tip for getting the White Dragon Mix and Match Badge.Majong Garden.
Play the Zodiac puzzle,Animal tiles.
There is only 1 set of white dragons per puzzle…..play until you get to the snake puzzle and you can find them fast…then just hit new game after each time you get the white dragons.Just stay on the snake puzzle. Hope this makes sense to you all,did mine in 30 min.
Have a Great weekend all.
Kay 09.04.09 at 12:55 pm
Lura,
I have 7 guess passes you can have just let me know how to give them to you ,it seems everytime I try to give them away I get that many more.
Lura 09.04.09 at 12:59 pm
Kay: there’s a link to contact me at the bottom of every page. I really don’t need any more passes, though — I’ve had so many sent in already that I’ll be giving them away for a long, long time as it is!

I have been playing POGO before Colonel Sander was a Colonel. Anyways, my tip is when you are trying to win a badge in World Class Solitare (when you need a certain amount of tokens). The best way to do that is keep all of your powerups (peek, shuffle, etc.). You will get a perfect game and a extra 100 tokens. It will help with your total. Have a great weekend and a great Labor Day!!
Fred 09.04.09 at 1:09 pm
Hi what a great site i have 1 tip for Texas Holdem,if you need a badge in that game and dont want to lose any tokens, you can play in the just for fun rooms with the bots.you wont lose any of your tokens and you will get your badge.Have a wonderful weekend all.
Carolyn 09.04.09 at 1:19 pm
My biggest tip is this… If theres a challenge u dont like or dont want to do, get ur hubby/bf/partner to do it for you. Works for me every time :P
My 6 yr old is still for hire for working on monopoly slots. He says he charges $6 an hour but when he turns 7 it will be $7 lol
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Trish 09.04.09 at 1:24 pm
A friend recommended I visit this site…and what a day I picked!!! lol. Also, it seems Cookie beat me by a few on the Lottso tips. Anyways…hooked on Stellar Sweeper since the latest badge and got just one tip. If you’re looking for gas jets/spins the best planet is Valentine. You’ll get a minimum of 2 per game, sometimes more. If you open the outer edges first and use Scan u’ll get a perfect game almost every time. Hope this helps. Hear u run a wonderful site Lura…nice meeting you!!!
CarolsBooks 09.04.09 at 1:45 pm
Hi, first off, I love this site. I love Badge Tracker that I keep up for my 2 accounts and my husband’s account. Thank you so much!!
For Jungle Gin, if you are playing against bots, always check Aces as low/high and then they won’t hog all of the low cards like they do if Aces are only low. Makes for a much more fun game.
On Dice City Roller. First turn go for 2 of a kind and exactly 7. The dice almost always rolls you this combo. Next tip is save your high dice for the “exactly” numbers in the lower left side. If you have an extra die or dice put it on the Straight. You’ll want to wait until you have 2 of a kind or 3 of a kind that you have nowhere else to put (if the upper right is already taken) to play on the Full House. Next tip: Once you clear a space you’ll see a star. After you get 4 stars, the next time you get it, you clear it out completely and get 50 bonus points! Get at least 800 points and you’ll get a jackspot spin.
A request. Do you like to play Jungle Gin? I am always looking for partners to play. We can set the board any way you want. I love this game. I haven’t ranked out, yet, but I love to play. I am just past beginner over into Intermediate. If you want to learn how to play, I’ll teach you. CarolsBooks is my name here and on Pogo.
A big hats off to Lura for this wonderful site. ty very, very much.

Mahjong Safari- Play on the Hard difficulty level. It’s really not much difference to the other levels. Plus you get 4 animals to match per game, as well as more tokens!
Happy Pogoing everyone!
Jenni 09.04.09 at 1:49 pm
My best tip is for games and badges that require you to play against another player, make up another account and run it on a different browser. I have two pogo accounts, and play them on Firefox and Internet Explorer, which is how I get all of my Chess, Backgammon, Hearts and games like that. That is the best tip that I can think of
CarolsBooks 09.04.09 at 1:52 pm
Hi, again. I forgot another tip for Jungle Gin. If you want to play the bots, and don’t want a real person to pop in and take the place of a bot, you can’t just check “play with bots” on the main page. You have to click on a room, then pick an empty table, set up the choices how you want them and uncheck “let players replace bots”. Then, you’ll have it all to yourself. Don’t forget to put in a password to make it private.
CarolsBooks 09.04.09 at 1:54 pm
Mahjong Safari. Before you start matching animals, take a good look at the board. See where several matching animals are. Once you start clicking, click fast to match several animals at one time. If you pause, you won’t get the combo bonus. The more animals you match.. one after the other, without any pauses, the longer your combo’s will be, the more tokens and the more you’ll advance up the ranks. Pausing kills the combo.
dimplescb1 09.04.09 at 2:01 pm
I have a tip for mini golf madness, if you get stuck on a hole and it asks if you want to just take 6 strokes don’t. Practice to see how to do the shot for the next time you come across that hole. It only make six strokes recardless of cource if your fustratite move on good luck all and have fun.
Another Susan 09.04.09 at 2:02 pm
Lura – if the person from UK wins couldn’t they sign on to Pogo using the American Flag and then enter the code. Sort of like a reverse of what we do to play the UK games. They would have to clear thier cookies and history before they try to sign on. I’m just not sure if there would be any differences for the account pages.
Tyson 09.04.09 at 2:07 pm
Hi Lura,
I just discovered this website yesterday and I think it is great. I figure I will enter and see if I can win.
My tip has to do with Stellar Sweeper which I know a lot of people struggle with. I am a very mathematical person and I have discovered several situations where you can know where the crystals have to be mathematically.
Situation #1: Whenever you have a corner of blue blocks and a number one next to it, you can mark it as a crystal (right click once).
Situation #2: Whenever you have a straight line of blue blocks and the numbers 1 2 1 in that order and there are no corners nearby, you can mark the blocks across from the 1′s as crystals (they will always be crystals).
There are a couple of more situations, but I can’t think of them off hand without playing the game for a while.
Another tip for the game is to always start by clicking the corner spots. These can open up large sections of the game board.
debbie 09.04.09 at 2:07 pm
love this site you do a great job. my tip can work for all the games, i see people grumbling about how hard the games are especially if you have to say get 4000 points, i take and divide the points by number of days to get it , this tells me that i have to do so many a day in order to get the badge and you don’t get bored doing it at all in 1 day. also people grumble about losing their tokens in games such as hog heaven what i do is give myself a limit on how much to lose and once it is gone i move on to another game.
Dan 09.04.09 at 2:20 pm
Happy Weekend everyone.
A tip for Wonderland Memories, only play with 2 or 3 cookie types, that way you have more chance of turning more over and less to remember, remember you can right click to submit and something I found helpful, when you first go into the game or start a round and see all the cookies, if there is a wild cookie to start with it sometimes helps to go straight for that. This way you can click on any cookie on the board and will open up more spaces for you.
Another tip for Pogo Addiction Solitaire, well two actually lol. Firstly try not to move the Kings to close to the beginning where the 2′s etc go as you can’t place anything behind them and they are often hard to move. Secondly, if you don’t care about stats and want fast rank, or need the gold buddies for a badge and don’t want to try and win every game, go for the gold cards, when you have 3 buddies hit new game and repeat.
Thanks for a great site Lura!
Linda 09.04.09 at 2:30 pm
Lura, I just love the site. It has been so helpful for me.
Poppitt is my favourite game. The tip is to keep hitting New Game until you get the 2 power up 2 balloons, makes it a lot easier to win the game. And, if you don’t use have to them, you get extra tokens.
sandy z 09.04.09 at 2:31 pm
thanks Lura for the contest for pogo subs.
Here’s a tip for panda poker. You CAN make tons of tokens in this game. The majority of the tokens come from the bonus bet and spins ….. so bet 1 and if your hand is less than fantastic, make 2 crappy hands and bet to lose. You can zip through this collecting lots of tokens from bonus bet and spins …. I rate my games according to tokens/hour and this one is great …. I get minimum 10K per hour and up!!
Kelly 09.04.09 at 2:40 pm
Here is another tip I just thought of. If you are playing a poker game like Hold ‘em or games like that, put 3 other people in the same table (not bots) and have everyone fold except for one person. It only works for if you need a certain number of wins badge.!
Have FUN!!!
nirrad67 09.04.09 at 2:42 pm
no tips but anyone needs a 5 day club pogo pass leave a messages at pogo.
vibirdlady 09.04.09 at 2:45 pm
Fairly new to BH, so wasn’t sure what hint/tip I could pass along and then remembred that in First Class Solitaire if I don’t win a game in the first two tries in a room I’ve been changing rooms and almost always start winning by doing this. Thanks so much for starting this site, it has helped my % of winning games so much. I did finally get my first album finished, now have finished three. T Y’LL for your help, especially you Lura!
Chris 09.04.09 at 2:45 pm
For Tri Peaks, try saving your wilds to get higher streaks of cards so you can reach the 3x multiplier. I have gotten 17+ card streaks by using wilds.
Pete 09.04.09 at 3:07 pm
Here’s a tip for Lottso – If you hold the last ball ur playing that round over the spot it’s needed, it will be ‘snatched up’ automatically when the time runs out(I imagine you’ve noticed this). What you may not have noticed is that you get credit for TWO balls every time you do this, so you can get 10 extra balls every game!(Be careful you don’t go over 60 balls though, or you won’t get credit for any!) I don’t know if Pogo will consider this a cheat or not, but as someone who knows a li’l code I just luve to beat the coders!
Terri 09.04.09 at 3:11 pm
my tip is for Crossword Cove…if you use the answers given here on Badgehungry, when you finish the puzzle, wait till at least 14 minutes to get all or most of your tokens. If you hit done right away, you only get a few tokens, but the longer you wait, the more tokens you get.
And again, Lura, thanks for all the help and info you put on here!!! I greatly appreciate it :)
CarolsBooks 09.04.09 at 3:15 pm
Hi, I made the unknowing mistake of posting 2 tips in a row. If you want to combine them, please do. I was not spammingg (I promise). After I did that, something jogged inmy memory and I reread the instructions above. By then it was too late.
I’m very sorry.

I have a dilemma with Sweet Tooth to go. With Pogo having their 10th anniversary sale, we purchased 4 games. One being sweet tooth. I installed the free version, worked fine. I then entered the registration key code. Then tried it, it worked fine. Now when we try to play the game, the only way we can get it to work is to reboot the computer. We can then open it up and it works for one time, if we exit out of the game, we can’t play again til it is rebooted. I have a message to Oberon tech support—as they are the ones that made the game for Pogo. We are running Windows Vista on the computer. Anyone else have any problems like this? Would love to find out if you have a solution to make it work correctly.
Indy 09.04.09 at 3:30 pm
Payday Free Cell tip – I have the best success hitting new game until I find the screen where the Aces are closer to the bottom. For me, it makes getting a win much easier.
Double Deuce Poker tip – keep only the 2s – your odds of adding at least another 2 or 2 more 2s will often lead you to the 4-2s and 4500 tokens for the hand.
Canasta – I play alone with bots in the 4-player rooms and that way you get the benefit of your partner bot’s 3s, canastas, no wilds, etc. in addition to what you contribute to the hand. Also allows you to finish each game faster. Works no matter what challenge you’re working toward.
Have a happy and safe Holiday Weekend!
Lura 09.04.09 at 3:31 pm

LittleMsMunch 09.04.09 at 3:46 pm
Hi Lura. first, let me tell you that you have a great site here, I read it everyday. my tip is for Lost Temple- when you reach the bonus round- if you find an Ace,then click all the cards in that row-that will give you the royal flush
Charlotte 09.04.09 at 3:47 pm
I enjoy mini golf a lot. It is truly addictive. I do not like the fact that at times you have to hit your mouse several times for the ball to move, and that will throw you off course, and for me, the game takes forever to load grrrrrrr. But a tip I have is when you are the hole that has the outline of a car, if you use the closest tee to the playing field, and aim at the top of the curly cue at the wheel, shoot a hard shot, & wait for the car to get by you will get a hole in one practically every time. Hope this helps someone.
CarolsBooks 09.04.09 at 3:49 pm
Terri, does this work every time you complete a Crossword Cove puzzle (I do them myself without the given answers)?
Carol
lisa 09.04.09 at 3:51 pm
I haven’t seen any tips for Quick Quack so here are a few. Keep the undo button free in case you get a king duck, often if you use it and get 50 tickets, you can hit Undo and play the King Duck again, usually getting more this time. Also if you want a rainbow streak, hold on to all the 3′s or whatever, in each color, sometimes you’ll start off a hand with 3 of a kind, then wait until the last color shows up.
Also if you want a bonus +2 duck, try to play 16 ducks in a row, the duck will appear at the top of the screen. There is a way to stop the waves, but I can’t remember how to do that.
I hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend!
Donna 09.04.09 at 3:59 pm
great site lura, i always come here for tips on games. this is my first time leaving a message, but this tip is for stella sweeper. when you start a game, i always do the right click, right click, than left click sometimes a number shows or clears a lot of area. after that i click on all the numbers, very seldom do you explore a diamond. gl.
Ellen 09.04.09 at 4:02 pm
Hi and Happy Weekend to all…
Anyone playing Mahjong Safari and trying to make combos…here are the board layouts you should use, the number of animal pairs on each, and the types of animals to look for…
BRICKS (7) : anteater, kangaroo, koala, polar bear, squirrel, tiger, wolf
HOUSE (4) : kangaroo, koala, polar bear, wolf
JA (3) : koala, polar bear, wolf
LANDSCAPE (4) : kangaroo, koala, polar bear, wolf
OFFICE BUILDING (4) : kangaroo, koala, polar bear, wolf
POGO (2) : koala, polar bear
If you get other layouts, ignore them and keep hitting NEW GAME until one of the above layouts appears.
Lura, glad to share my tip, but PLEASE do not enter me in the contest…I already have 5 free years of POGO and have personally given away 3 codes for free 3-month memberships to people who posted on your site that they were having no luck with Subway’s game. Thanks!
Tanya6207 09.04.09 at 4:03 pm
The tip for turning off the waves in Quick Quack is to click on the game and type “anim”.
Lura, love the site. I check it first thing every morning and multiple times throughout the day. Thanks to you and to everyone who submit tips.
Have a happy & safe holiday weekend.
jaredph 09.04.09 at 4:18 pm
Hi everyone! Hope e1′s having a great Labor Day weekend. :)
Here’s a tip for Minigolf Madness: if your ball is very close to the hole (usually within one length of the hole), and you have your big gulp powerup, you can make the ball fall in the hole without using another stroke. This can be handy if it results in a score under par or a hole in one!
Also, since one of next week’s badges, in mahjong garden, is to celebrate one birthday with your dragon, you can get a head start by playing the game until you only have one puzzle until the dragon’s birthday (I think the name of the puzzle will say “year of the boar”). If you do this, you will only have to complete one puzzle when the challenge begins!
Btw, I hope pogo made a typo on the poppit challenge next week: “win 100 games on skill level 2 or higher next week”…yikes! :(
Have a good weekend everyone, and thank you for the contest Lura! :)
Lura 09.04.09 at 4:23 pm
jaredph: I don’t think they’re going to be adjusting this one. Remember, winning a game in Poppit is not removing all of the balloons or even removing all but 5 or less.. it’s just popping all of the balloons with the prizes. I’ll admit I don’t usually play on skill level 2, but it can’t be that much more difficult than level 1, right? *fingers crossed*
jaredph 09.04.09 at 4:33 pm
Oops! Sorry about that Lura, I thought that 5 balloons or less was what you had to do for that badge (it’s been too long since I played that game lol). Sorry for the confusion.
Bill 09.04.09 at 4:38 pm
It’s curious that my tip in the weekend challenges thread, posted last night, gets posted above without attribution in a contest thread not 12 hours after the comment was approved.
sweetlove 09.04.09 at 4:43 pm
hi everyone!
i have a couple rank out faster tips.
monopoly here ad now:go to a custom room set the table with no time limit and no limit of money.get one property of each and try to get at least 2 of the railroads.play till everytime the bots want to trade do no trade till it say do you want to ignore all trades.hit ignore.so once you have one property of each and all trades are ignored by all bots your game is set to run by itself.the clock tickes down so if you are not there to click it yourself it does it for you.i ranked out in this games in like less than a week i just set it up and let it run all night.
jungle gin: double browse, make a another account and download another browser(firefox is one).have your other account take the high cards have their hand set as:2 k’s,2 q’s,2j’s,2 10′s 2 9′s make sure the colors and the suits are alternated.have your hand take the lows:aces, two’s and 3′s and you win with alot of points cause it is gin points you need to rank.
hope those help. have a safe and happy weekend.
sweetlove 09.04.09 at 4:51 pm
oh lura i forgot to add i don’t need to be entered into the contest i have gotten well more than enough about 10 years worth lol.so please give them to people who need them.you don’t have to post this commet.
pogofan 09.04.09 at 4:54 pm
What a great idea, thank you, Laura!
Tip…popit.
Always click on new game (leval 1) until you get two power ups.
Count the ballons and remove the ones with the least amount — I’ve cleared it many, many times doing this. (save the power up until the last).
brenda 09.04.09 at 5:09 pm
well I will talk about canasta thats the game I like the best. I play this way only with robots because most people pick up the piles as soon as they can, with robots they wait until they can go out all at once most of the time to catch you with a lot of points in your hand or without making any canasta’s. So I always pick up the 2 cards until I see that the pile is getting really low, then I look at the number that is in the discard pile and when it’s about 13 to 15 cards in there (sometimes more just depends) I will pick them up. This kills 2 birds with one stone, get the red 3′s to move up in rank and get all the cards to throw down. I am not very good in explaining things but maybe this will help you get the red 3′s faster by not picking up the discard cards soon. Sometimes you will get a smart robot and he will pick it up sooner then you think, and then they get the last laugh. For me this game is all about getting those red 3′s for the next rank.
cherie 09.04.09 at 5:13 pm
happy Labor Day weekend!
my tip is for blooop. if you can handle the boredom of playing this game for very long lol. play with the blocks, set the game for 10 points and work on the side with only 4 on it. work on getting all your pieces to the bottom row. don’t worry about the bot. he’ll just keep making the same moves over and over in the middle. this will clear out both sides of the board and 99% of the time you’ll get more than 10 points to win the game. i’ve ranked out myself and 2 friends that way.
Candi (#1): personally i think yours is the best tip of all!
good luck and happy playing, everyone!
Dallie 09.04.09 at 5:15 pm
Happy Labor Day weekend everyone! This is fun contest Lura! I have a few tips to share..
Squelchies: When going for the Blowfish Badge, play on medium difficulty and keep hitting “new game” until you see the blowfish on the left & right side of the game
Stellar Sweeper: Hold down the shift key and click on the numbers to remove blocks with free spaces underneath them
Turbo21: You can use the 1,2,3,4 keys instead of using your mouse
Monopoly Here & Now: I have never frozen in a game when using these settings.. whatever isn’t listed is considered “unchecked”
Play on tab level: Custom
Start with these rules: none (Select one)
Turn Timer: Slow
Bonus for landing on free parking: $5
Max number of times in jail: 3
Players can collect rent, build, trade in jail: checked
Players need “3″ houses before a hotel
Double cash for landing on GO: checked
Each player starts with “3″ properties
Total game time limit: none
Game turn limit: none
When a player goes bankrupt properties “are given to the player they owe”
Game net worth goal: none
Game bankruptcy limit: 3
Allow computer players to fill empty seats: checked
Make table private: checked
Just strategize your property deals with the bots. You basically have control of keeping the game endless when there’s you and one bot left. Good for those around-the-board lengthy badge challenges.
Lura 09.04.09 at 5:16 pm
Bill: could you please contact me with a valid email address so we can privately discuss your comment? (I have this sense that the email address you listed with your comment isn’t going to reach you.) I — along with many others — value your participation on this site. Your tips and hints have helped so many people and I don’t want something like this to leave a sour taste in your mouth and I want to handle it to your satisfaction, so please consider emailing me.
But… Assuming you aren’t going to divulge your email address to me:
I don’t want to nit-pick on whose tip came first, if I were to give a tip for Boggle or Thousand Island Solitaire or any game, I have a feeling there would be a handful of other people who would have submitted the same tip. (In fact, the way you described to play TIS is exactly how I played since the game first came out. I ranked out with that method, but I don’t have any idea who to give credit to, or who might have come up with that method first. It just evolved for me over time and it worked well.) With that said, if someone directly copied something you’d written, I’d expect they’d give you full credit. I’m confused as to what happened, because I can’t see a direct copy anywhere. Does a re-write require attribution? If so, then did the person who posted the re-written tip even know that you’d posted the same method last night? I’m not sure. I could be missing what you’re getting at though, I am far from that kind of perfect. Please just contact me, thanks.
brenda 09.04.09 at 6:01 pm
I tried the bloop one and it is not working for me. Please try to explain it again. Do you use the junk blocks?
redlion621 09.04.09 at 6:03 pm
crossword cove has been time consuming for me – first print your wonderful answers then go to the podgo site – either u.s. or the uk – then do the puzzle. finally the light bulb went off – go get the laptop – get your wonderful site on it then just do the puzzle on the desk computer – sure saves time for me
sweetlove 09.04.09 at 6:07 pm
nicole # 45
how does that work does the 2 humans be partners or no?
i have a tip for bloop to rank faster but its on another site with the step by step instructions.to rank faster.badgeaddicts.com go to hints and tricks select bloop and scroll down where it says game tips and the second pararaph where it says for fast ranking it shows you how to set it up very easy play with someone.not really my tip but some people may not have known.
Lura 09.04.09 at 6:10 pm
redlion621: hah, or you could just use two browser windows. You can create a new window under your browser’s “File” menu, then move between windows by using alt-tab. (My husband points out to me, though, that tabbing between windows doesn’t really cut it for a lot of people, so kudos for the laptop solution!)
Sandy 09.04.09 at 6:28 pm
This tip is for Lottso. Hold your last ball in the round over the spot but don’t let go until the round is over. You will get credit for an extra ball for that round. Watch out though, you can’t have over 60 balls in a game. If you go over 60 you won’t get any credit for any balls placed. So be aware of how many you are accumulating. It makes the ranks go much, much faster. It is easy to average 55-60 balls per game using this tip. Good luck, everyone.
Hope that you all have a great weekend. It is beautiful here in Ohio.
tigger 09.04.09 at 6:28 pm
Mbpmorris yes you can use the codes for the free pogo ;) not really a tip for specific games BUT relax and have fun playing any game u do play..for boggle just play at your own speed and play it however u normally would..for mini golf in some holes the big gulp helps ;) oh and as always, i know this isnt easy cause the how to’s dont help most of the time, but sometimes, they do ;) and also, for some badges, the requirements are listed right there hehe
shelly 09.04.09 at 6:49 pm
Redlion #104 & Lura #106 I too use 2 browser windows for the CC answers and TP answers. If you minimise the window with the answers in but have it big enough to see the answers you shouldn’t have to tab between windows. For CC I make the answer window long and place it down the left hand side of the screen with the game window placed alongside.
For TP I make the answer window short and fat and have the game window placed on top of it, moving the game window down a row each time I have answered the previous question so I don’t lose my place…lol
At all times I can see both windows.

I don’t know if this would be considered a tip, but I’ve seen it happen when people are trying to work on badges in Pinochle.
First, always remember that no matter how high a meld number you have showing for your hand, make sure that you have a marriage, that is a King and Queen of the same suit that you decide to call trump. Otherwise you will lose that hand and all your meld.
Also, read the requirements for the badge that you are trying to complete. There are some that do not require game wins and tokens are awarded anyway.
I also set the game point limit to 100 unless a badge requirement specifies 250 or 500. Setting a 100 point game allows you to complete a game quickly, win or lose, while achieving badge requirements.
Have a good Labor Day Weekend everyone!
Denise 09.04.09 at 7:39 pm
My tip for Boggle Bash is : when you think you’ve found as many recognizable words as you can, start typing different combos of letters. I usually pick up a few extra points this way!
Judy 09.04.09 at 8:03 pm
I don’t know if this is considered a tip but I have a remote (cordless mouse) so while watching television I just keep my mouse next to me (upside down so the curser doesn’t move once set) and keep randomly clicking and ranking up on Hog Heaven Slots and racking up the tokens.
Thank you so very much for your site Lura. Have not won anything but just the chance of it is quite fun.
Cyrabi 09.04.09 at 8:03 pm
Happy Weekend All, nice contest good luck to everyone. Here’s some tips for Mini Golf. Use the power-ups, the Mulligan lets you replay your last shot, Zoom In is cool because you can see where to shoot. Hope these tips help. :)
Laura Samarripa 09.04.09 at 8:37 pm
In Monopoly Here & Now, I play the family version (with bots) and when there are only 4 turns left until the end of the game, I sell all of my property to the robots. They usually fall for it and I win with having the most money in the end.
kiki 09.04.09 at 8:42 pm
i don’t have a tip right now, but wanted to let everyone know that beta letters are going out now, so keep an eye on your mail box, including your spam. the email will come from Pogo Beta Program ( betainfo@fun.ea.com ), if you want to put that in your contacts.
Sue 09.04.09 at 8:45 pm
I just read the email from Pogo that has a link to a list of “everybody” who has been playing since 1999. They didn’t include me. grrr

Just a note that pogo beta invites have gone out…
Lura 09.04.09 at 8:57 pm
kiki (and Jonathan): if either of you feel like it, the Beta thread could use another update with the information you posted:
http://www.badgehungry.com/2009/08/27/beta-invites-going-out-soon/
I think I updated that the invites were being sent out, but that was yesterday. (Or was it the day before? Time eludes me.)
Please use that thread to talk about beta, not this one. Thanks!
Also: woo! Congrats to those who applied and were accepted. ;)
truebadboy4lyfe 09.04.09 at 9:08 pm
ok the way to get a 200+ is shoot from between 2 and 3 on the left and shoot it towards the left of the head pin once u get closer to the pins right click u possible get a strike.
Sarah 09.04.09 at 9:08 pm
First, just wanted to let Lura know this is a great site. Also, Beta invites are going out, as I got mine and I have been chosen to be a beta tester (Congratulations! You have been selected to participate in this session of the Pogo Beta Program! We already have a game ready to test for your feedback. We encourage you to login now and check it out!) – that is from the opening of the e-mail.
My tip is for both Everyone Wins Bingo and Bingo Luau, if you enter a room in the middle of a game, you can put your cursor over the numbers on your cards and your daub will be a lighter shade. When you see that it means the number has been called and you can mark it. It is also great for double checking your numbers to make sure you didn’t miss any when you get close to having a bingo especially if you are in a faster paced room.
Wasn’t sure if this was known by everyone or not, hopefully this can help someone.
donna 09.04.09 at 9:39 pm
Ok I have a couple of hints…one for hole in one badge on mini golf. (I haven’t seen it posted yet) Sept 1st works the best for now. The first hole is Leo and is very simple to get a hole in one. After doing so just hit new game and you will still get credit. You can get this badge in no time.
Heart shoot the moon……keep hitting new game until you see a hand you think you can win and play. I shot the moon 3 out of 4 games this way. Make sure you uncheck must take jack of diamonds to shoot the moon. One less you would have to get.
When setting up table games to play the bots check the box that only lets beginners join. It makes the bots easier to beat!
Can’t think of anything else at the moment…..great work on the site Lura
Mike 09.04.09 at 9:41 pm
Happy Weekend All!
My tip is for Thousand Island Solitaire! When you are playing, try to wait to use the free cell as long as you can, this will come in handy later towards the end of the game. Have a great weekend :)
cpurnellt 09.04.09 at 9:49 pm
Another Canasta Tip
Play against the bot, and set your game for 2 canasta’s and 2 cards. Play in “Beginners” and the bot won’t pick up until the 10th card, so you can keep picking up on 9 or 11, depending on who goes first. If the stack gets frozen, and you can’t pick it up after 10, play whatever cards he has already played–he won’t pick up anything he has previously discarded. You can really rack up tokens this way.

Woohooo Weekend Is Here hehehe:
My tip is for Canasta i always play in a room by myself that way i can stack up the cards always use the black 3′s and the 2′s to keep the bot from gettin the pile.. you can also use the black 3′s to meld out also :-) i have done this several times and already rank 43 :-) Hope u all have a gr8 weekend
cpurnellt 09.04.09 at 10:15 pm
While I’m posting away I have to say I was just refered to this site recently. I have had several “mini” strokes (TIA’s) and minor strokes over the last year and get so frustrated because somedays I cannot remember how to spell a word. Since I was a Composition Instructor before my strokes (and have a MA in English) this disability was putting me in tears. Then, someone told me about here. NOW when I am having trouble understanding what I read or spelling a word I can pull up the answers and get the spelling. This site has really made my life enjoyable once again.
Thank you Lura for this wonderful site. I haven’t played around with it, just used the crossword cove tab, but I plan to move around in here a lot more.

Jonathan 09.04.09 at 10:22 pm
In Minigolf Madness the powerups don’t carry over to your next game so use all the powerups you have at your disposal on the 18th hole (assuming you are playing 18 holes)
scully 09.04.09 at 10:22 pm
Hi all….Happy weekend..My tip is for Boggle. If your not the best typer, you can click on the first letter of your word and then drag your cursor to all the other letters..It works well and seems faster, (for me anyways..LOL).On average I get 70-80 words per game sometimes more..Hope this tip helps…..Have fun!
Paul 09.04.09 at 10:37 pm
Hi Lura,
Looks like this will be your most popular thread ever!!
The tip I have is one I have given here a couple of times. If you have trouble getting 200 games is bowling, go to http://www.pipstips.info. Very simple site with lots of pictures and arrows (and very few words). It shows you where to bowl from and where to aim. It will still take you lots of practice but this will help you get more strikes and less splits right away.
I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
Paul
Ro 09.04.09 at 10:38 pm
Maybe this is not applicable to all, but noticed on mini golf that when ball is really close to hole, if you dont overshoot a little, it doesnt sink – maybe is just my puter, or maybe might help others…Lura, cant thank you enough for this site.
Also, a laugh…Mom is 83…my daughter puts up MJ white dragon badge for her she tells me on phone that she doesnt see any dragons; so I ask if she sees red, green, white dragons after discussion, she says oh, you mean those dollar signs? LOL…anyway, Pogo is keeping her mind active…

good luck i am glad this badge is over.. i play all wednesday to achieve..
good luck on the invites
have a good labor day weekeend and great tips
hecate754 09.04.09 at 11:02 pm
Heres a tip for Addiction. Dont look @ it as a card game as much as its more of a puzzle. Before moving any cards look for where you can see a sequence, then only move cards that will expand it. Sometimes l even put off moving a card so l can clear more space behind. l usually put the 2s in place last. Unless moving a card will help, leave it. Dont use the power ups until you are ready to go out, and become one with the undo button.
Does anyone have some hints for mini golf? l cant seem to get the Scorpio even Raid wouldnt help.
Shannon 09.04.09 at 11:38 pm
My tip is for First Class Solitaire. When you need to win 2 or 3 games in a row for the badges, instead of losing and starting over again and again…when you get to the point that you can no longer win the game just leave the room…DO NO HIT NEW GAME…as you will lose your progress towards badge. Just leave the room and come back, a new game will start up and you can continue to play without losing the badge progress. Just keep doing this if your losing the game.
Edna 09.04.09 at 11:58 pm
Hi E/O And Happy Week-end to all, and I think this is great Lura. I Love Pogo and I love all the games. I can’t say if I have a great tip but I will try, I will offer to say when I play Canasta the most It’s my fav… I play the bot a few games first, and know that on the tenth draw the bot woll meld out with usually three canastas no wilds, and will never discard a wild card first until I do.
Notice that the bot will follow your suit in discarding until the ninth discard and a black three then he will meld . I also use no chat in Canasta breaks concentration…lol.
Hog Heaven is a good game to gather alot of points if you use the bonus boxes from right to left and use all halos to add up alot of points at one time to reach higher levels.
bobby 09.05.09 at 12:16 am
my tip is for bingo luau. go into blackout sharing room and ask for the
current route. one example is unnat-news-owls-veggies. daub all numbers and wait for the columns to rise then go to the next room. with 3 spins in 4 games the ranks go very fast.
DAWG 09.05.09 at 12:22 am
Really like your site. You have done a lot of work and think ya did a great job.
I usally just sit back and read the comments here. I help a lot of folks and and ready to do so here too.
Two tips:
Soduku puzzle blast = To turn off cursor light hit the escape key to toggle off and on.
Word craft = If really stuck click hint button twice and it’ll change to pass.
You can type your words in this game too. Have fun all.

Hi, I am passing on a tip which kind of evolved in MGM (mini golf madness)..another in the room was knocking out the badges left and right. I gave him a WTG and told him that he was doing well and sent him a smiley emoticon. He asked how I was doing and I told im I was having a time in the warm up round as I had four games I had not figured out strategy for and kept having to “take 6″ in score. Well, to my surprise this dear man went beyond the call of duty. (I wont give his s/n as I dont want him bombarded with requests). He asked me to start a new game in the warm up and he walked me hole by hole thru it. Others in room, about 5, joined in as well. I referred to him as my “golf pro”. On each hole, he advised where to tee up, how easy or hard to set power, and where to aim. He took us through all 18 holes. I ended up with two holes over par, but, I knew the techniques to attempt to achieve. We couldnt thank him enough. After he left, it took me only one more game to get my badge. I have sent him a pogogram full of thanks. My tip is to “share your talents”. This does NOT mean to do the badge for others, but to use communication skills and patience
to teach a new skill. I felt truly blessed and went on to get my second badge in MGM. I am willing to pass on some of the techniques I learned and to “pay it forward”. There are so many wonderful people in Pogo, and their kindness is truly appreciated. This is a site that celebrates sharing, and I just wanted to pass on this success story.

Thanks Pete #79 thats a great tip! I really need to use it.
Lottso Express: For those trying to gain the 20,000 scratcher badge I gained it this week and discovered it is a combination of normal scratchers, super lottso’s and mega lottso’s.
Iknow i emailed you this info Lura but thought it would be a good opportunity to share with everyone as the game gets really frustrating after a while. Good Luck!
Kimberly 09.05.09 at 1:32 am
My Tip is for Boardwalk Sea Ball. An easy way I found to get the Squid Swarm badge is to aim just ahead of the squid. Use the tip of the arrow and put it right in front of the squid. Hope this helps.
Mamabear 09.05.09 at 2:13 am
Happy Labor Day weekend everyone, hope you have a safe and happy long weekend.
Thanks Lura for all the great things you do here at BH. I’ve really picked up a lot of tips on this thread and am sharing them with friends who hadn’t a clue about some.
My tip, and I don’t think I saw anybody else put it on is for any word game. If you go to http://www.anagrammer.com/ it’ll give you all the way down to 2 letter words.
Sandi 09.05.09 at 3:43 am
Hi everyone.. hope your weekend is a safe but enjoyable one. I found on the thousand island solitaire .. in order to win the games.. if i started trying to get the highest priced ship first then it usually worked best for me…i got my badge in alittle more than 30 minutes by doing that.. i then tried that while doing a friends and got hers fast too.. hope it works for you too.. thanks
dolphin2246_ 09.05.09 at 4:29 am
In E1 wins bingo everyone else left the room but me so all the wilds I passed went back to me. If you are still working on the passing badge this works fairly well because you can get all your wilds passed every game
catania1966 09.05.09 at 5:05 am
hi lura, great site, thank you to you and all your helpers.I’ve submitted this tip before but prior to this thread,so bear with me for the repeat.
Tip is for boardwalk seaball – ducks – perfect score. If you haven’t noticed 1s and 5s are the rarest numbers here, they only appear in 2 colours yellow & red. Therefore it is better to start your “streak” hitting the 1s and 5s FIRST,much easier to get a perfect score this way as every other number ie 2,3 & 4 appear in EACH colour at least once.good luck everyone
Msmoney5 09.05.09 at 5:09 am
Hi-Lura
This is my first time to post a comment, but I have been reading your site.A friend of mine told me about your site and I like it very much. I would like to enter your drawing for the Club Pogo Pass.
So, here is my suggestion,I have been playing the new game-Mini Golf Madness, and find it hard to see the -RED shooting line.I would like Pogo to make the Line the color –WHITE, so it would be easier to see it.
Some of us have eye problems.
And thanks, for this site.I find it very interesting, and have learn a lot from it.

my tip is 4 mgm play warm up course to get the 50 holes in 1 badge i love the graphics in that game they are awswome im rank 10 there got the hole in 1 badge and i got the warm up i was in love with the pogo 10 year course badge i have finally made it to rank 40 in sweet tooth 2 i love the pogo 10th birthday mini items ty for a great open thread for this week Lura big happy birthday to dear pogo hope the next 10 brings u joyful experiences
donna 09.05.09 at 8:07 am
a hint that i have that made getting though the solitaire ranks a little easier is that if u have a choice of moving one of two piles pick the pile with the fewest cards it seemed to empty that space and for me kings were usually under the stacks with the most cards. then when you have empty columns u will be able to move ur king off the piles and continue ur game. Also if you have all ur kings out dont consolidate piles anymore. You might bury a card that u need and getting an open space is not a benift once ur kings are out.
Lois 09.05.09 at 8:24 am
Happy weekend everyone. My tip is for pinochle. When you are trying to get the ratings badges, play against players that have higher ratings than you. If you win, you get more rating points. I use to pick the partner that had the highest rating thinking it might be easier to win, but if we won, I only got a few points. I finally sent pogo an email and they explained it to me. Wish I had known this before.
Adam James 09.05.09 at 8:56 am
Another tip i’ve realised is that even if you get a samall straight in yahtzee , don’t automatically click it off. Wait till your thid roll , then anticipate whether you can go for a long straight. The same goes for 3 of the same , 4 of the same , and Yahtzee.
By the way , i think the tips are a great idea , they’ve really helped me out!
Lura 09.05.09 at 9:05 am
Paul: you weren’t kidding about this being the most popular thread yet! Free stuff seems to bring folks out of the woodwork! :)
Michelle: thanks again! I am already putting together a set of pages that will contain game tips and hints for earning badges and ranks — they’ll be made up from the best hints and tips in this thread and other threads from past releases and challenges. It’s going to be time consuming, but I know it’ll help people a lot in the long run.
donna: which solitaire game were you referring to?
tigger 09.05.09 at 9:30 am
Msmoney5 do you have a tip for a pogo game?not a tip that pogo needs to fix..

Happy Weekend All! Lura, LOVE this site and have been starting to depend on it for clues and info. Thanks for telling us about the 99 badge, folks were complaining about it and being able to tell peeps what the situation was helped cut out some of the whining.
Bob, your tip for stellar was close, but here’s another: l play tetra (the one that looks like Earth), click in the middle to the left and that usually will open an area. Find an exposed crystal with the #1 next to it, then right and left click @ the same time and it will expose all the non crystal #s in that grid. When we had to do the badge for 100 pg, l ended up doing it for 14 other folks. Would never have been able to do it wo that aide.
Dawn 09.05.09 at 9:54 am
Here is a tip for super dominoes: If you need to score high for a badge (like the Dominoe Delight Badge–score 60 points or more 10 times) I found it was a lot easier to “double browse” and play against yourself so you can set it up for a high score, and make the ends a multiple of 5…..then when you get close to a X3 x4 x5 you can get your 60 or more points. I actually got 100 points in one score at one point (and got a badge for it hehehehe) talk about surprising the heck out of me ROFL !!!!
Thanks to all the helpful hints from everybody, They really help when I cant figure out a game (like sea ball!!!-but i got it now) and thanks Lura for this site IT IS GREAT!!!
donna 09.05.09 at 10:42 am
it is both world class or first class i have found those pesky kings under the larger piles more often then not…and my ratings went up as well as i got though first class ranks much faster once started clearing the other piles first
Jaxon 09.05.09 at 10:45 am
My tip is for scrabble. I always play with bots. I select the tab which allows you to grab a blank tile. As the bot Never grabs it, use it to spell longer words and get higher points ! Love your site, Laura, TY.
RoadKween1 09.05.09 at 10:48 am
What an amazing site!!
I have a tip for bowling and I get a strike 99% of the time… not sure if it has been posted, I have looked through all these, but so many great tips and may have missed it so sorry if it has…
What I do is, there are dots at the start of the lane, i go 2 dots over to the left and the first darker board (so the 2nd board) to the left of that dot, i place my ball there, and I line the bottom of my cursor arrow to the left line of that board and to the bottom of the screen page. I aim in between the head pin and the pin to it’s left (not sure if it’s the 2 pin or 3.. sorry not a bowler lol). Now you will notice that each time you play, the pin set up is a little different, sometimes the pins are closer together. So to compensate, when they are close, i bring the mous back just a tiny bit so it’s night right up against the pins, if they’re further apart I put it closer to the back of the boards… I hope this helps everyone out there ;)
braun 09.05.09 at 10:59 am
my tip is for free cell, i say take your time, look at what cards you have, try to open holes in the board, use free cells as little as possible, Dont hit new game, replay the game if stuck, try to get the highest cards on the bottom of the board if you can to work off of as a base.
piper12345p 09.05.09 at 11:00 am
hi lura,
i love the mini golf madness its awesome after you get use to it.
v 09.05.09 at 11:01 am
tip for pebble beach, Dont play it, contact pogo and tell them that there is a glitch, request badge, Worked for me, lol
Robin 09.05.09 at 11:15 am
I want to suggest multiple tips under one umbrella: Prioritize! If your goal is a badge, know what its requirements are and focus on that. However, if you are working on ranks, don’t overwork OR underwork. For example, for Hangman Hijinks (thanks Lura and Company for the list) or Wonderland Memories, play on easy. Only spins or cookies count in those. For Phlinx play on the highest difficulty you can complete games in since only those spins count. For Pop Fu, Poppit, and StackEm, which have such a heavy penalty for playing easy, if you rank at all, develop skill and play on the level that does advance your rank.
This may seem obvious to those of you who ranked out, but how often are you in a room with someone who whines about this (and everything else)!
Makeover Madness: Buy as many robots as possible, ignore the mindreaders as they make the women crabbier. If you can build your skill to Holy Cow, you will knock off 246 of them each completed week and the only way I can do it is with the robots…watch that $6000 maximum and buy more robots! Clear enough?
Penguin Blocks: Play on expert, sacrifice some fish. Let the penguins have the less valuable or far away fish if you can build combos and max your monies that way. I average about 65 weeks a retirement this way.
Beaker Creatures: Perfect does not only mean everything matches–it also means that NOTHING at all matches. This has made a huge difference in my game in there.
Ride the Tide: RTT is not your goal, your goal is to beat the dealer. So quit when you are far enough ahead (If I hit a 6-9 on cards 3+) that his odds are to stop, since he has to on 5-10s, or bust.
I realize many of these sacrifice tokens, but until I can take them to the grocery store, ranking up is preferable in my world!
As always, thanks and praise to Lura…you do an awesome job!
shelly 09.05.09 at 11:29 am
Can someone confirm or deny for me please that the comment by Dolphin2246 (#142) is true? I was under the impression that using an empty room and passing to yourself doesn’t count for the passing badge. I thought they only counted as being passed if you passed them to another player?
cy 09.05.09 at 11:39 am
My tip is for Jigsaw Treasure Hunter, I helped a very good friend and co-worker get a badge in this way She had to do the one where u needed to complete a puzzle on normal in 8 min. or less. By going into the unlocked puzzles you can choice your puzzle and if u pick one that has an easy pattern and one that u have completed before it is a lot easier to complete it in the time limit. My friend was trying it without doing it that way and was having a hard time. Also with mini golf this morning I was in room and it seemed like it was not awarding badges for the completing a course at or below par someone in room did not get hte Flora and Fauna badge and I did not recieve the Astro Blast badge even tho I won game with a -1 score (showed in Stat) but no Badge
Lura 09.05.09 at 11:47 am
shelly: I’m with you. I was pretty sure we talked about this a few weekends ago, and that the only wilds that counted for that badge were the ones passed to another player. I haven’t tried it myself, though.
Ron 09.05.09 at 12:06 pm
i never used to be good at pogo bowl untill i found this tip site http://www.pipstips.info i went from a 150 bowler to a 250 bowler .hope this site helps others as its helped me.
debbie 09.05.09 at 12:08 pm
tyvm for the opportunity to post n for everyone to try and win pogo stuff my tip would be for canasta Prob an older one but maybe someone may not knowit When you donthave someone to play against watch what #s the bot throws out n try to stack your pile high with at least 20 cards n then take it most times you can win the game this way
veda2006 09.05.09 at 12:14 pm
I would be interested in helping Ayli with her badges, please look me up or send me a message, veda2006.
I have a tip for Stellar Sweeper for getting the Spin Badges or the Spin Gas badges. One is to play in the biggest field available and click to open large spaces, it seems that i always get the most spin gas by doing that, but be careful, if u lose a shield, the game will replace the shield instead of giving spin gas. Also if you right and left click at the same time on a number, it will clear all the areas around the number if you have cleared enought spaces around it.
shelly 09.05.09 at 12:30 pm
Thanks for the confirmation Lura. I thought I had read it here sometime but wasn’t sure.
I wanted to say a big thanks to Judy for the excellent tip in post # 112. When I play slots games for badges (and ranks when really bored…lol) I usually read a book and just click away without looking, then my mouse moves about and I end up inviting random ppl to PC with me!! lol
Thankfully they are understanding when I apologise and explain.
I’ll definately use your tip from now on. (I wish all slots game were like mono slots, just hit spacebar to spin or use a hot key like my next tip)
Also I have another game tip that I haven’t seen mentioned, this time for Lost Temple Poker. If like me you aren’t worried about losing tokies but want to get ranks go into the game and bet 1. Hit deal then weight down the enter key (either by holding it or like me use a bottle of nail varnish…lol) This will auto deal for you for 50 games/hands until the free game which you have to play manually. I usually set this up then go do little chores or read a book.
HTH
Melinda 09.05.09 at 12:36 pm
I love Monopoly slots but wish the dice would come up more often. It is a good game. Sometimes I may play for 45 minutes and never get the dice. Can this be fixed where they will come up more? I also like the Mini Golf just be glad when I can get better at it.
I absolutely love playing games on Pogo.
Lura 09.05.09 at 12:38 pm
shelly: some — but not all — of the other slots games have a hotkey too. It’s either b or t, I can’t remember… I remember using one for Spooky Slots a couple years back when they first introduced the badge/ranks.
Evelyn 09.05.09 at 12:53 pm
WOW! some really good tips! Didn’t see one for Pop It.. I like to start at the top right or left corner and work across. It seems to leave fewer *orphans*. I also will use the power ups at the end of the game if it will allow me to leave five or fewer balloons. Happy weekend everyone!
shelly 09.05.09 at 12:54 pm
Ok thanks Lura. Next time I play for ranks I’ll try all keys and see what happens…lol
April 09.05.09 at 12:56 pm
Hi everyone! Stay safe this Labor Day Weekend, as you all know there are alot of people having parties and drinking. Lura tyvm for this site! You do an awesome job and I love it! I have a tip for monopoly slots that I don’t know if everyone knows it or not. Instead of always hitting the spin button with your mouse, you can just hit the space bar! It makes it so much better on our wrists!! LOL corpul tunnel!! Have a wonderful weekend! And let’s not forget about Sept 9th for the most people online! Let’s break the record!!!
Chris 09.05.09 at 1:03 pm
In World Class Solitare if the top card in the first set of 3 cards is an ace or bonus card, don’t play it because when all moves are done you have that ace or bonus card to play and that will change the outcome of the rest of the deck. This also saves you from using the shuffle bonus.
Genevieve 09.05.09 at 1:13 pm
Hi Everyone, I do have a question, what and how do you use those “hot keys” for slot games? Great tips everyone. Lura, thank you so much for time in doing this for all of us. Also, thank you to everyone offering tips and comments. Be Safe!!
Marithoner 09.05.09 at 1:22 pm
Dolph is incorrect, and Shelley and Lura are correct — in Everyone Wins Bingo, you MUST pass wilds to another player (not yourself unless you are Sybil, hehehe) in order for them to count towards the passing wilds badge. I’ve tried it and didn’t get credit when I was lone person standing in the woods…all alone…in the wild…with all those wilds..sniff, sniff….
Sarah 09.05.09 at 1:28 pm
Here’s a couple for Boggle Bash.
When you are playing a game and you need t get up to get coffee, use the bathroom, answer the phone, etc. and you want to stay in the room you are in, always make sure you type in a word or two at the beginning of the round or you will get booted for inactivity.
Also this has been mentioned several times but I thought I would add it again, if you are trying to get your 10 letter badge, go to “all words” and scroll down to “8 letters or more” and write down the 10 letter words you find. Also during open chat just ask others what word they had to get their badge. Most are very proud of the badge and are more than happy to share the word they used.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

couple of tips and a question, just for the fun of it.
After winning a game and getting the jackpot spin, does anyone hit the “stop” button? or do you let the machine stop itself? and do you think it makes a difference. I think about this odd stuff all the time (hee, hee)
Boardwalk Sea Ball – on the squid part aim for the eye of the squid
Secret Bloop Badge – enter an expert or master room on tab, set up table with 1 (one) game pt, dont use junk blocks, make table private, play against bot and dont allow players to enter after game starts.
You should place your markers as shown. The computer willeventually mess up and not drop a block in the empty space between number 2 and 3
1 2 4 3, play 1, then the next turn another (2) on the right of (1), skip a space next turn and put (3) then put the fourth marker between 2 and 3. If you cant make sense of it send me a msg. and I with play against you for it. Pogo name is bobbisu
Here is a way to play for the badge with a friend but it has got to be timed right.
Expert or Master tab and without junk blocks on set up. You would play your pieces like this and your friend can just play on other side of screen against you. UNTIL you place marker 3, your friend has to hit the stand up button and the bot takes your friends place. Then you drop marker 4.
3 4
1 2
To win at Chess
Again gotta play against the bots, have the white pieces and gotta be the first to move. This can be done on the set up page. On the top, bottom and sides of board are numbers and letters (like battleship grid)
E2 TO E4
F1 TO B5
D2 TO D4
G1 TO F3
C1 TO F4
D1 TO D2
F4 TO H6
D2 TO H6
F3 TO G5
H6 TO H7
H7 TO F7
and the bots king goes down and you win

WOW, so Many Comments this Weekend!!
Im TRYING to get thru them all, but MAN OH MAN
IF my tip has been done by anybody or EVERYBODY already knows it, i apoligize in advance……
Its a Tip fo Turbo 21.
For some reason that game is tough for me….can never seem to get the Jp spins…..
But i found a much quicker way to get the 21′s w/o having to actually play thru the game and struggle..
I did this when i went for the 1200 21′s MnM i think it was recently…
U can use the one two three and four keys….for each column…..
so if you press two or three of them really quick, each game will only last a few seconds…….took me not even a half an hour to get That many 21′s…….and even a Rank…haha…….
its the way i will Ever really rank up in that game…….u dont even have to use EVERY column, just two or three, and u get at least 2-7 21′s each game….
thanx for baring my message if you already knew this..
ciao for now
Richie!!!!!~

Happy long weekend all!!
First I want to mention that I was chosen as a beta tester – I received the email yesterday and promptly started playing the new game.
I have not read the comments above yet so I am not sure if anyone mentioned the tip that in Monopoly Slots you can use the space bar rather then the mouse and it makes the game go a little faster.
Have a great weekend everyone – I will now start reading all of the comments.
braun 09.05.09 at 1:40 pm
tip for monop here and now, I play in a custom room and start with 5 properties to begin the game.play so that all 3 bots need to go bankrupt for the game to end. buy properties as soon as possible, trade with bots to get at least one in most if not every color. build up $$$, trade to get a monopoly, dont trade with bots to give them a monopoly, unless the trade is far far far in your favor. build houses and hotels on the monopoly that you have. bust two bots and collect their stuff. mortgagge properties and go around as much as u like, then build back up when u want the game to end to bust the 3rd bot.
Chris 09.05.09 at 1:44 pm
In Poppit, you can use the weight powerup more than once. First once you get the weight powerup drag it to a place where its needed and let the balloons fall. Then pick it back up and while holding it in place right click which is undo and place it in another place (you will not see it on the pointer) then pop 3 sets of balloons (no more or less otherwise it wont work) and after the 3rd set is popped right click again and an outline of the weight will be on the right and you can use it all throughout the game.

Happy Holiday Weekend Everyone!!! :)
My tip is for ANY Badge you are trying to get that has a TIME LIMIT on it. This tip can be used in several games too.
FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT: Get the Badge ready, then reduce it to where it will be sitting below the game and it’s handy to pull up. So when you’re ready to activate it, it’s right there!!
FOR TOKENS WITHIN A TIME LIMIT : Start the game and BEFORE your first game is finished or your first JP spin, ACTIVATE the Challenge/Badge THEN. DON’T ACTIVATE IT FIRST, then go play…that takes precious time loading the game, etc.
PUZZLES: This works really well for BOTH the Jigsaw Puzzle games AND even Mahjong Garden when you need to finish a puzzle within a speciified time AND/OR you need tokens in a certain amount of time too.
HOW I PLAY: Get my Game up FIRST and when I’m almost finished or nearing the JP spin, THAT’S when I pull up my Badge from the reduced window BELOW THE GAME (remember that part!!), ACTIVATE it and then finish my game/puzzle. It will show up in Chat as activated AS SOON AS YOU DO THIS. Then when I’m finished with the game/puzzle, I get the Badge and the tokies that go with it and saved precious time! Simple. Give it a try. :)
It’s especially helpful with at least two of the PAB Albums—On the Go and Quickie Casino. Probably even more of the M & M’s too. There’s ALWAYS a time limit on something! LOL
Using this method works great and I’ve won many Badges doing it this way. Hope this helps someone! :)
Great thread this weekend, Lura! :) I’ve gotten some really good tips on games I’ve struggled with, lol And alot of tips I would have given if no one else had!
Have a SAFE and Happy Holiday all! :) Enjoy your Monday off too, lol
((HUGS to All))

My Game Tip is for “Wonderland Memories.” It’s pretty low-tech, but it actually works.
When the screen is showing all the kinds of cookies, I use my left hand to place my splayed fingers directly on my monitor’s screen, on as many cookies that are all of one kind, to mark them. Then when the screen snaps back to the covered cookies, I can get several, “Nice Find” messages and often can get an “All Showing.” It’s dumb, but it works!

I have 2 good game tips…..1st- remember that all games are just games…have fun …dont be sore losers!!….2nd-I play qwerty all the time (when I have club pogo)..I save a “s”, “d”, “r” or a blank for when Im close to going out!!!
DD 09.05.09 at 2:26 pm
I dont know if this tip is in this longggg list of tips ……If you play trivial pursuit and crossword cove on the american site and the uk site you will rank up faster and get lots of tokens…..
Lura 09.05.09 at 2:28 pm
Everyone: don’t worry if you haven’t read thru this massive list of comments to see if your tip has already been given or not — there’s no way I would penalize anyone that submits any tip that may have been already submitted 100 comments earlier. (Of course, if you do check first, that’s great because it’ll save me time in the future.)

Hi Lura and all
my tip is for canasta….I love the game, and play against the bots.
99 out of a hundred times the bots will hold their cards so they can go out when they meld….catch them red handed all the time…just make sure you put the setting to 2 canastas needed to go out.
Mary 09.05.09 at 2:59 pm
Hope this helps someone, I really like Canasta but it takes forever to rank, was playing with one robot but so going, switched to my partner a robot and the other 2 robots, there pretty good players, getting a lot of red 3rds now, ranking pretty fast to.
redgoddess50 09.05.09 at 3:19 pm
Hi Lura, I love your site and generally check it every day to see what’s new.
My tips are for Lost Temple Poker, Aces Up and Qwerty. In Lost Temple, when Tex advances to the 2nd skull and the boulder comes rolling for him, wait until the boulder rolls off the bridge, then click blank space below the bridge. Tex will advance 1 more space.
In Aces Up, when you’ve arranged your aces or your single cards and later find that you’re stuck, use undo to go back and rearrange those single cards. That can make the difference in being able to clear the board.
In Qwerty, I play against a bot at beginner level. I make long words using most or all of my tiles using an anagram site. Then for my last move, I connect to the bot’s grid and go out. I always play to 1,000 points for max tokens.
Good luck everyone.
Susan 09.05.09 at 3:30 pm
For Bobbi #176 – What you are going to get on your JP spin is determined the second the spinner pops up. If you watch your name in the room list it will add the tokens in before the spinner has even stopped. This was actually discussed in the Pogo News a few months ago….think it was in the Letters to the Editor. So it doesn’t matter if you hit stop or not, it’s not going to change a thing.
Jillian 09.05.09 at 3:30 pm
A few tips/tricks that I use that aren’t necessarily game specific are:
I play Trivial Pursuit (both sides) then Crossword Cover using Lura’s answer page. After each game, don’t close the game window… just go back to Pogo’s page and click the next game’s link, it’ll load in the opened game window and you don’t have to keep moving the window. I usually set up for the next game’s link while the game is loading. Also, I type all but ONE letter in the crossword games then click ‘Submit’. If it says you have ’1′ incorrect, hit ‘Cancel’ and you know you don’t have any errors. If there is more than ’1′, then you have time to go over the puzzle again for any typos. Once you have it ready to type that last letter, I use the 12+ minutes for each puzzle reading all of the recent posts, comments and free tokens (using right click and ‘open in new window’). Just don’t forget to check the clock occassionally and type the last letter once 14 minutes have passed… I haven’t lost any tokens yet by playing this way.
Another ‘trick’ I use is… my ‘Favorites’ list only contains games that I still have to rank out in. When a new game is added to Pogo, it’s added to my favorites; once I’ve completed a game, I remove it from the list. That way, when I don’t know what game I’m in the mood for, I can easily look at the list and aim for the ones which jackpot is over $2500… to me, there’s no sense in my possibly winning a jackpot that I wouldn’t get maximum payout for. LMAO! (like that’ll ever happen!!!)
Susan 09.05.09 at 3:35 pm
This is not a game tip, just some info on Monopoly Slots. I haven’t played for months b/c of the lack of dice, but I had to play this week for the new mix & match badge.
I played for about a total of 6 hours (over 2 days) before I managed to land on chance, but went around the board 5 1/2 times….and picked up almost 100,000 tokens :)
So I’m thinking that they did change it so that the dice appear more. I never would have gotten around the board in an hour right after the game was released.
HomelessDog 09.05.09 at 3:51 pm
Great thread. I’m looking forward to checking out your tip section. I don’t have a tip to share yet, and don’t really need the free pass (I’ve won 4 already)… but if you’re coming on to share a tip you can find out if it’s already been posted by hitting CTRL-F to search the page for the name of the game.
Faith 09.05.09 at 4:22 pm
I hit “stop” all the time during a spin. In most games, if you watch your token total, you will see it change to the final amount even before the spinner starts to spin. So if you stop it, it doesn’t make a difference in the token count. It also saves time by stopping the spinner if you are doing a timed badge.

Tips for Boardwalk seaball:
Boats is a crap shoot since the balls occasionally have their own minds. But I try to shoot straight down the side as much as possible as the ball falls more quickly. Depends where those pesky 1s and 2s show up.
For the ducks, I start with green and blue because they only have 3s and 4s. I do all 4 3s first, then the 4s in whatever colour sequence matches. Then I do yellow starting with the 4 of course, and end up with just all the reds to quickly shoot.
Coral can be iffy as well. I don’t follow any set strategy besides trying to avoid those bumpers as much as possible.
On the clam round, aim but don’t shoot until you make sure it’s not red. Try to get the 25s and 50s if they are open, while grabbing a 10 or 15 when you have a spare second waiting for them to open.
For the squids, hang to the left side and try to shoot as quickly as possible, getting red and yellow first of course.
mall 09.05.09 at 5:45 pm
Laura, I’m not sure if you will consider this a game tip or not, but here goes. This tip is for all the games, to help your games run better, clean your Java cache and your internet browser cache.
zzingcrazy 09.05.09 at 6:02 pm
hi all,
LOL, I have 1 humerous tip for boardwalk sea ball: quit looking for a way to tilt the machine when you ball gets stuck at the top of the 1st puzzle!! LOL, my ball always gets stuck up there!
Ok, now this is a serious one for same game. I had real hard time with the bottom row of ducks, tilll someone told me to not throw the ball so hard!! Just make sure your arrow is green and then go for it. Works great on the clams too. Also on ducks, don’t forget to get all 1 color at a time.
LOL, sorry no idea if this has already been said, I’m too tired to read all 183 posts at this time!!
Maggie 09.05.09 at 6:04 pm
I rarely miss getting a perfect on the squids. Seems you can
hit it anywhere as long as the end of the green arrow is ON
the squid.
I don’t need a free pass. Thanks for having the contest!
And thanks for Homeless for the great tip on finding tips.
Amanda 09.05.09 at 6:16 pm
In Yahtzee, Super Yahtzee rounds are played after every 12th yahtzee in a room so you’ll get this one faster by playing in full rooms. This helps with some of the badges.
Jean 09.05.09 at 6:18 pm
A tip on playing canasta is if you play the robot he/she/it will never take the pile of cards until there are 10 cards on the pile. This way, if you need to lay something down that you really don’t want to, you can always try to get the pile back before 10 cards are on it. Plus, the robots play extremely fast, so you can complete more games in a shorter time.
queenie07508 09.05.09 at 6:35 pm
Mini Golf Madness – FYI – The 99 holes under par badge is actually 999 holes under par. There are a few that have gotten it already. Just thought to let you guys know. :)

Hello Everyone, Did anyone know that when playing CrossWord Cove, after you finish working on your puzzles, just exit the room, then come back in and your tokens will calculate, with no waiting. Try it, its better than waiting 15 minutes on a puzzle. By the way, I luv reading the weekend threads!..Everyone have an enjoyable and safe Labor Day holiday!
ANGEL 09.05.09 at 7:23 pm
Here is my tip: On word whomp wackdown, take a print screen of the window when it first starts. then pause the game. paste into a word doc. Study the board from Word, then go back to the game, unpause, type in the word, pause the game, go back to word. The list appears in alphabetical order so you know about what the first letter is that you are missing.
El 09.05.09 at 7:35 pm
Hi all was reading the tips and didnt see these two so here goes. In First class solitaire if you need wins in a row if you win the first game and are not going to win the second one dont hit new game just leave and come back into the room if you win that one it will count as in a row kepp doing this till you win. Now in Jigsaw detective if you play on medium right after you put in the last piece change it to hard and you will get progress for doing it on hard. Doesnt work on easy but if you are doing them on easy and after you put in last piece change it to hard you will get more tokens. Have a great weekend all and ty for all the great tips
Ro 09.05.09 at 7:50 pm
Regarding the spins; the question was posed to the Pogo editor awhile back & it was said the there is nothing you can do to determine the spin amount; it is ‘puter determined within a split second after you finish the game…so just click on it when it starts; saves time unless you like looking at it LOL
brenda 09.05.09 at 8:00 pm
On Word whomp I pull up a anagram pause the game, type in the words in there , and whoola. Hope this helps.
Chris 09.05.09 at 8:04 pm
In Lost Temple Poker, when in the bonus room and you find the hand with the A that is the hand with the Royal Flush and thus the most points.
Paint 09.05.09 at 8:17 pm
I’m just back from a nice little vacation to CO. I haven’t read through all the other comments yet. I had a great tip due to a glitch in Word Jong, but after years I think they finally fixed it, too bad.
Offhand, the one thing I can think of is in Broadwalk Sea Ball duck round, go for the 3′s, then color down. That round alone put me on top of the leaderboard.
I would also like to take this moment to say thanks to Ellen whom I have gotten to know through this site. She helped me, so thanks to Lura & this site also!
Faith 09.05.09 at 8:20 pm
htfish #202…I just tried it….it gave me 694 out of a supposed 4,775…I went out, came back in, and it was the same….694.
Another Susan 09.05.09 at 8:30 pm
This is a very silly tip for Bowling, Phlinx, Pool and probably a couple of others that require an exact aim.
Do NOT play these games if you have the hiccups.
I was playing Bowling for a PC and came down with the hiccups. As you can guess my score was simply horrible.
kathleen 09.05.09 at 8:51 pm
i have a tip …i have a hard time seeing in pool and mini madness golf to make shots ….what i do is use a index card to line up shots….in golf i take the time to line up different shots to make sure i take the least strokes and i do make more hole in one that way…and in pool it helps to get a private room with the timer off to use the index card to line up shots as well and i do win a lot of games………..
Lura this is great i have been reading this site since you started and i read everything that is here this my first time and i did not want to repeat …..and i know this is new thank you again for all the hard work that you do
HomelessDog 09.05.09 at 8:51 pm
Queenie,
The 99 Holes Under Par badge will be fixed on Tuesday, according to the Pogo staff that were in the room the other night. I’m not sure how it’s awarding right now, but as of Tuesday it should be fixed.

THE ONLY COMMENT I HAVE IS PLAY THE GAMES HAVE FUN ALL THAT IS WHAT POGO IS A VERY FRIENDLY PLACE TO MEET FRINDS AND HAVE A GREAT TIME ,,AS TIPS JUST REMBER TO BE FRIENDLY AND MAKE FRIENDS ALL OVER THE WORLD
Jennifer 09.05.09 at 8:55 pm
Tip of the weekend… In Thousand Island Solitaire… Stay with one stack til it is “injured” with an action card (ie. torn sail, hole in the boat, poison green guy, etc.) then move to the next pile. This will give you the chance to keep using number cards til a fix it card comes along. And always pay attention to the cards you cover up in the pile. The cannon can be quite an asset. Hope this helps someone. :)

My tip is for Word Search. When you are working for the time bonus and you have found all the words but one use hint to find the last word.
bappitoo 09.05.09 at 10:53 pm
My tip is for Beaker Creatures. After you pick 2 you can scan the other creatures to find the best match. The lights at the top will light up and show you whether you have 2, 3 or 4 matches. Just roll over them with your cursor, it really helps when you are having a hard time finding a match.
Sam 09.05.09 at 11:11 pm
Phlinx Tip:
If you have difficulty viewing some of the colored aiming lines, try adjusting/tilting your monitor forward or backward to darken the colors. Less eye strain. This is also helpful when playing any Pogo games during daytime hours, in a bright sunlight room where your computer is located.
Deborah Twyman 09.05.09 at 11:33 pm
Thank you for a great site! I enjoyed playing the crossword cove game – i normally suck at crossword puzzles LOL…. I’m having so much fun this weekend. You are awesome.
Deborah Twyman 09.05.09 at 11:52 pm
A tip for Monopoly players. Don’t get “POGO WRIST” clicking your mouse for the next spin. Once you click max bet, then just use your space bar the next time and it will spin again…. much better than that sore wrist! Have fun playing all!
bonnie 09.05.09 at 11:59 pm
MY TIP IS FOR WORD WHOMP WHACKDOWN…
the gola is to get all the words ..you NEVER have to use the MIX Up button !!EVERY single word is in the screen you begin the game in..this saves TONS of time hitting the mox up when its compleltey uneeded. also dont forget to add S~~ ED~~ ES~~ ING~~ Y to make more words
also THANKS SO MUCH for your site I sooooooooooooo enjoy it and after logging into Pogo its the first place i go for news on whats going on in Pogo!( and crossword cove help and tp help!!)
gggggggggggg to those whose tips win!!

the new game mini golf madness is awesome i am already addicted. but there are problems with it getting badges though i have over 200 holes under par and havent got the 99 hole under par badge.
TIP on mini golf madness hole #3 on warm up course hit it as hard as you can to the hole on the top and hole #8 of warm up course pick the tee furthest to the right and shoot it to the far left for chance at hole in 1
hole #9 of warm up course pick the hole at the bottom and it will go to the hole

First and foremost, I want to thank Lura for this MAAAAAHHHHVELOUS website.
WOW, I can’t believe all of the comments this weekend. I have to admit, I haven’t had a chance to read them all as of yet, but I will eventually get through all of them.
Yes, Lura, I am one of those who came out of the woodwork for this contest. :)
Here’s a tip for First Class Solitaire: If you have to win two or more games in a row, when you think you’re going to lose a game, exit the game before it ends, then reenter and you won’t lose your progress towards the two or more in a row.
Thanks again Lura! YOU ROCK MAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Iiannya 09.06.09 at 3:15 am
not sure if its been said or not but in Stellar Sweeper you can shift left click a number after you uncovered the gem near it. Like if there is a gem with a 1 beside it if you hold down the shift key and left click it will clear every box the 1 touches. Be sure to find the gem first though, because if you dont you might end up breaking one.
Melissa 09.06.09 at 5:38 am
My tip is for Monopoly H&N: World Edition. If you have access to two accounts, you can quickly exchange properties, making sure that you can get badges that ask for one to get a certain amount of properties exchanged within a short period of time, that is if you don’t have a good friend who is willing to help you out. Make sure that you are using the separate accounts on two different browsers. I did it once for a pogo hunt and it helped out quite a bit. I think that Monopoly H&N is a free game, which allows you to set up a free account. Just make sure that you lock the room or you might have somebody wondering what is going on…..
Tim 09.06.09 at 6:43 am
My Tips
For mini golf the hard course seems to be medium and the medium courses are hard. Dont be turned off by the header of hard on the golf course its a lot easier then the two medium ones in my opinion. I have gotten under par on the hard courses and have yet to get under par for both the medium ones. Also dont be afraid to hit the par 6 button and try and make it up on the other holes.
Monopoly Slots as someone mentioned before hit the space bar for the same bet and spin. I have heard that betting one line makes the game go faster, however you mileage may vary as I always play max lines.
For Tri Peaks solitaire always save the wild card for the last card, that way you wont waste it on a losing hand.
Those are my tips and also I got into the Beta with pogo.
This web site is great and I hope you have a safe and happy weekend.
Michael 09.06.09 at 8:42 am
Hello everyone, happy weekend! My tip is for Lost Temple Poker!
When Tex goes from the second to third step and the boulder rolls over him, and is below thet bridge, click on Tex, and he will advance another step! Doesn’t work everytime, but it works enough!
Have a great weekend!
surgeryrn7 09.06.09 at 9:33 am
thank you Michael!
Lura, I have a question, i do not understand, and i am blonde lol, about what you said about the trivial pursuit UK starting Sept. 1, i have done all the archieved thru the UK site, so I guess that doesnt apply to me? thank you , Nan
Laura 09.06.09 at 9:41 am
I saw the mention of Spooky Slots on the things coming in Oct. Any word on ranks for this year? I really miss the old Spooky Slots. The new one is so complicated. I still play it because it’s Spooky Slots but I miss it. It was very disappointing last year not to have ranks.
On Thousand Island I go for the lowest treasure chest first then next highest and finally the 1000. It helps me get the chests for the treasure chest badge otherwise I have to fly right past them.
Wonderful site, I visit it daily for all the info.
Cheri 09.06.09 at 9:50 am
Laura just love your site.I come to your site as soon as I log into pogo. I have not seen this tip yet, it is for Dice City Rollers. Go into a room by yourself, make sure you are in a room with the auctions and when u bid if u only click on 1 token amount and wait for the timer to run out the game will uncover the rest for you. Also you will get a jackpot spin no matter what your score is. Is easy way to get ranks faster, and tokens. Thanks again for all your hard work
Patti 09.06.09 at 9:59 am
Tip: On the squid round of Boardwalk Seaball, aim for the squid’s eye and you’ll get him every time!

surgeryrn7: no, it does apply. If you get up early in the morning (or are up late at night in the US) and want to get a head start on the UK Trivial Pursuit and I haven’t posted the day’s answers yet, you can go into last year’s and get the UK ones, because they are repeating.
Laura: no word on Spooky Slots yet. I doubt they’ll be adding more ranks, but the game will be the same as last year’s — the one with 10 ranks and 1 badge.
Panhead571 09.06.09 at 10:02 am
My tip is for Thousand Island Solitaire. I found that if you save ur 100,s you can rack up more points and get to 1000 quicker. the more cards drop from the top the more chance you have at getting to your goal. I had never played this game but I sure play it now. I liked it alot!

May I add to the list:
– sneezes
– pet kitty who MUST sleep in your arms while playing, and if you don’t snuggle just the way he likes, he kicks your mouse hand to get more comfortables

Always try to switch up letters in word games! As in Word Whomp/WWW/WWU, Boggle.
cindy 09.06.09 at 10:48 am
is this were to post for contest or just regular post comments.. someone help guide me..lol thanks
cindy 09.06.09 at 10:50 am
on boardwalk seaball.. on the squid round
always shoot for red first then gold then green.. the red moves the fastest , then yellow and green the slowest..
Lura 09.06.09 at 10:54 am
cindy: either. The original post has all of the information you need.
Barbara 09.06.09 at 11:18 am
These are for Thousand Island Solitaire.
There are 2 face up card piles at bottom. Only the one on the left can place cards, however… I always move the number card to the right pile and open up a second pile. With 2 numbers showing you have more leeway as to how to use the cards whether you are going for treasure chest limits or to win the game. If you want to use the one on the right, just click it and it will move to the left and be able to use.
Also, if you don’t remember what hazard cards you have not used in your open piles, place mouse on cannon but DO NOT CLICK. Just mouse over the cannon and you will see what is beneath the top card.
evanka11 09.06.09 at 11:27 am
wonderful tips here — thank you all!
here’s a general one — it pays to get familiar with and practice the games for the next week’s upcoming badges (the BADGE CENTRAL page always lists them in advance) if you’ve never played them before. A few minutes playing them a day or two before the badges are released makes for much smoother sailing once they come out — and eliminates unpleasant surprises at a game’s rules or quirks.
RV60 09.06.09 at 11:29 am
Would be great if someone had a tip on how to remember all these wonderful tips when we would like to apply them.
This was a great idea Lura even if there wasn’t a contest involved.
Thank you.
Lura 09.06.09 at 11:31 am
RV60: I’m creating a section for the web site that will contain tips on separate pages for each game. You don’t have to worry about reading all of these or searching through them to find the game you’re trying to play. Just give me a few weeks to get it all set up — it’s a LOT of work already.
evanka11: my page of upcoming badges goes farther out than Pogo’s Badge Central does:

Dawn 09.06.09 at 11:32 am
hello ev1 can someone tell me how to get rid of the scrabble letters u dont need will they disappear when more room is needed or can u delete them??? and also how come the daily code doesnt work for me anymore? it tells me i have used it the max number of times (i thought it was DAILY – is there a max?) LOL thanks for any help
chris(#181) ty for the tip in reusing the power up in pop it maybe now i can FINALLY get that weekly one that requires you to pop ALL the balloons cause i cant seem to do it
victoria (#183) that is funny what you do with your fingers on the screen LOL one time i actually put masking tape on my screen to mark where the cookies where to get an ALL SHOWING badge LOL my friend thought i was crazy but hey it worked :) (if there werent enough cookies of that type in the area i kept “clearing” the cookies in that area until there was a cookie to turn them all over)
Dawn 09.06.09 at 11:36 am
evanka11— i ditto luras comment and would like to add that BH’s is also a lot better than BC’s (wink wink) LOL
Lura 09.06.09 at 11:39 am
Dawn, and Chris (181): be careful using that Poppit! glitch — I’ve heard rumors of people getting banned and/or having to forfeit prize winnings because they were caught using this method. I don’t know if it’s true or if anyone really cares, but I’m just putting that out there.
And while I’ll still allow it for sweepstakes-entry purposes, I will not be including it in the hints/tips section of this web site for your safety. :)
Carol 09.06.09 at 11:51 am
Just wanted to say I winced at Thousand Island Solitaire but once I learned the ins and outs, I was hooked, I now have 4 badges (within a week). Wish I could find more for that game, TYVM for all that you do for us, Lura. Have a great and safe weekend all and gl in winning all your games and badges!
Dawn 09.06.09 at 11:57 am
oh my goodness well i wont be using it dont want to take any chances ty for letting us know does anyone else have any tips to popping ALL the balloons??
Evelyn 09.06.09 at 12:02 pm
Some of the tips for games where you can play against robots suggest ways to set up the room. Ive never been able to make any changes to a room when Ive played against the robots. Any idea what Im doing wrong? Id love to rank out in a couple of the games with room suggestions others have posted.
Lisette McKiernan 09.06.09 at 12:09 pm
to make games run faster be sure to shut all programs off. this way you wont have things running in the background and everything will run faster
Lori 09.06.09 at 12:29 pm
Hi everyone. My tip is for Word Search Daily, if you are having trouble finding a word you can double click on the letter that the word starts with and it puts a yellow circle around that letter and it helps you find the word a lot easier.
Chris 09.06.09 at 12:30 pm
Thanks for the info about the poppit tip. I never heard that before, but I will not use that anymore.
Evelyn 09.06.09 at 1:02 pm
Dawn, to remove ALL the pop it balloons, you can use the UNDO bottom as many times as you like. Even if you use one of the power-ups, you can UNDO the move. It helps to have a game page with a lot of the same color balloons, and I dont hesitate to click on New Game if too many prizes are at the top of the page. There really just isnt an easy way to get rid of all the balloons. Good luck.

I havent heard anything about the mysterious extra badge is Beaker Creatures in some time. Has Pogo eliminated that badge?
A tip for when for almost any game on Pogo. Decide if it is a badge that is your goal or rank. In some games it is possible to rank out and never win a game ie First Class Solitaire. Also, Pinochle ranks by the random deal of how many pinochles your are dealt (queen of spades and jack of diamonds). You just have to finish unrated games to rank in Pinochle. If you want the in game badges, then rated games are necessary. Those require people, not Pogobots.
Have fun which is the most important thing on Pogo!
Wolfberry5 09.06.09 at 1:58 pm
tip for fortune bingo:
I used to sit in a room then get mad at the hoppers that POPPED in and went bingo on me! BUT then I tried hopping rooms. It’s much faster for ranking. I find 4 rooms that are running so I have time to hop between them. then stick with those rooms. YES I come across others hopping also MOST will share the bingo some do not. I ALLWAYS do as long as I see them in time. Hope this helps some
do NOT need to be entered in the drawing already have free subscriptions won from subway (3 3 months and don’t want to push my luck) LOVE the site :) keep up the GREAT work.
tigger 09.06.09 at 2:07 pm
evelyn you have to go to an actual room, not click to play with bots on the game page, and once u go to an actual room and click on a table, u can set up table that way
Rock 09.06.09 at 2:11 pm
here is fast way for rank on monopoly world, get another player to join and you both buy up all props, when you have eliminated the bots, then both you mortgage all props and you will fly around the board, do this in custom, set 5 props to start, jail 1 time, no time limit, and if you can find a 3rd or 4th person to help to take a bots place and sell all to you both that will help for faster play.
Jesse 09.06.09 at 2:11 pm
the only tip i can think of is when playing lottso do not leave your cursor where the balls drop it is to avoid losing your balls
kim 09.06.09 at 2:22 pm
Lura, I’m glad you’re putting up a tips page – so many good ones and too little short term memory in my brain!
Canasta – I wish my bots wouldn’t pick up the pile before 10 cards, mine grab’em at 6. So I play off all the cards they need up to #5, thumb my nose at them, then play very carefully after #6!
Lottso games – complete the scratcher cards on one side of the screen, but don’t scratch them til you get all three to get the super card. I try to get them by round five or six to have time to complete before the game is over. And, if you have filled cards on the other side after round 5, save them until they are selected for bonus to get more tokies.
Evelyn 09.06.09 at 2:37 pm
THANK YOU TIGGER! ROFLOL… I knew there had to be a simple solution. I’m going to give it a try.
tigger 09.06.09 at 2:40 pm
yvw evelyn :) and for canasta, if you keep freezing pile on the bot, they wont pick up, now if u dont think u can keep freezing, then i’d pick it up, cause chances are, u will put down a card they need and will either go totally out on you or almost
Peggy 09.06.09 at 2:54 pm
When playing Crossword Cove, I always play on HARD level and wait at least 15 minutes after finishing the puzzle, before clicking the submit button. This way you are going to get the maximum amount of tokens for the game. I can still do other things on other open IE tabs while I am waiting for the time to pass. The UK site, for some reason gives fewer tokens on their puzzles, so do the US one first, and then the UK one. It takes a little longer this way, but you get the full benefit of the maximum tokens too. Everyone have a great weekend and a safe one.
walker1758 09.06.09 at 3:06 pm
JUST FINISHED BOGGLE BASH AND DISCOVERED YOU COULD USE THE SAME WORDS OVER AND OVER IN EACH PUZZLE. THAT TOOK A DAY A HALF JUST TO FIGURE OUT. ADD AN “S” TO MAKE IT PLURAL.
Rock 09.06.09 at 3:13 pm
another Jan, There is no secret badge in Beaker creatures
Rock 09.06.09 at 3:23 pm
You can also do this for faster play before badge day, for example let say tri peaks needs 3 gold chests for badge, get to next to last spot before last chest before badge day, also next to last on mahjong garden etc. if it calls for so many completed puzzles etc etc etc
WilliamPorygon 09.06.09 at 4:00 pm
Hope everyone’s having a great weekend! Here’s my tip:
In the Duck Shot round of Boardwalk Sea Ball, the distribution of ducks is always the same. It goes:
Reds – two 1′s, two 2′s, one 4, one 5
Yellows – one each of 1, 2, 4, and 5
Greens – one 2, two 3′s, one 4
Purples – one 2, two 3′s, one 4
The best strategy for getting a perfect every time is to stick with one color at a time, only switch colors when you’ve cleared all the ducks of the color you’re working on. For switching between groups, there are no 1′s or 5′s in green and purple, and no 3′s in yellow or red. 2′s and 4′s are available in all colors. So if you always save a 2 or 4 for the last duck of a color, you won’t run into the problem of having no matches available in the other colors.
Hope this helps some of you out! :)
Dominque 09.06.09 at 4:41 pm
well i started out reading all the post, they are great tips ^_^ I got to Lura’s comment about not worrying about reposting tips so Im not going to.
Poppa Zoppa- play in the busiest team room there is. Save your chains and if stuck in a spot stay until eveyone else gets all the reactor pieces, This will clear out all surrounding buildings and works towards a chain linking your moves. Also try to eliminate a color as fast as possible, like if you have 3 reds on a board they are usually pretty spaced between.
Thousand Island Solitaire- when keeping fixer cards, do not focus on the limit card because you can still use 25s and 50s on that pile. I usually try to max out one pile at the beginning or work on two and stop when one gets to 700, sometimes a cleared pile will leave you a 300 card.
Pam 09.06.09 at 5:12 pm
hi everyone!
Love playing games at pogo except when playing with sore loosers who get mad in scrabble, qwerty or boggle bash because they start accusing me of having a cheat program. Oh well it takes all kinds.
TIP for those needing to win card badges–see if you can play against robots. Go into a room and set it up the way you need –points, oklahoma gin–etc.
Then make it a private game. Once game starts you are playing against the robots. I find its easier to win.
TIP for scrabble or qwerty–set up your own game table–do not allow watchers!! I used to allow that but after loosing a couple games to someone with way lower ranking than mine, I realized the watcher and other player were probably using an instant messenger program.
LOL that kind of makes me sound like I am a poor sport but just wanted people to be aware of the ways others can cheat.
HAGD!!!
shelly 09.06.09 at 5:14 pm
William #267.
Thanks very much for the info about the duck round in Boardwalk Seaball. I don’t play the game often but when I do the duck round is the one I suck most at….lol
Also I have another tip for the same game. Playing in a room on your own will rank you quicker than playing with other players as you will come first in every round and get the full 20 rank tickets every round.
Kathy 09.06.09 at 6:22 pm
Loved all the tips everyone.
My only tip is, for heavens sake, give LURA a break. She’s running this terrific site and also has to weed thru every comment. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, take a moment and read thru. Do it while your waiting for your tokies on Xword Cove. Not trying to be mean, but think of Lura.
Love you Lura.
Snowyjoke 09.06.09 at 6:32 pm
Wouw what a great tips and Lura what a great work you are doing and have to do after we placing this tips ;-) It was a lot of work to read, lol !
I also have a few tips:
Jungle Jin: When you have to get a lot of gins, set the options dont allow knocking. Then the robots can’t underknock and give you more chance to get gin. When you have to win 6 hands in a row, it don’t work to get out the room if the robot is going out. The fastest way is to play with another person or with another account by using 2 explorers. (I use Internet Explorer and Firefox)
Canasta: When you have to get canastas with no wilds, you better can set the options to get at least 2 canasta’s to get out, so it gave you a great chance to get a lot of canastas with no wilds.
Chess: See above the sets you can make. It realy works for me but dont forget to turn off the option “players switch sides after every game”, because when you need games in a row, you are always the beginner and with the intructions above, you always win the game ;-)
Poppit: I play this week the personal badge to pop all the balloons and it goes realy fast. I activate my M&M badge to, so I must win 3 games with no balloons left. My tip is to look to games where you have white stars on the balloons, click new game when you dont have them and try to save the powerups to the last few balloons. Use also your undo-button when you dont come out and try again and again. I got mine 2 badges in about 2 hours. So keep going and have fun.
Boggle Bash: use the site http://wineverygame.com/boggle/helper.pl and set it on the minimum word length 3 or higher. If you want to have a lot of longer words set it on 6 and maby you have luck to find a 10-letter word. Good luck. Be careful when you are playing in a full room, they will be mad when you have to much unique words. It happens to me and I make the choise to go out the room and play in another room. People dont believe that you can type fast. When I told them I am a secretarry and its normal for me to type so fast, people dont believe it, but its theire problem and not mine ;-)
Crossword Cove: Set a timer on 14:50 when you start a new game and wait till the timer is finished and submit the game. Then you get all your tokens. When I do that I go reading on Badgehungry or starting cooking our dinner. It’s the only way to get your tokens.
So by playing games in a row and you see you can’t win, go out the room and come back in whatever room you like. But when you have to play hands in a row, it don’t work and the fastest way I write it down by Gin.
Have a great weekend all. My weekend is over, it’s over midnight here, but it was a great and happy weekend. The greatist tip is offcouse: Keep playing with a lot of fun on pogo and read this site, so you are up to date and tell all your friends or people who you are chatting with, to read this site, because it’s unique and very informative!
Lura 09.06.09 at 6:58 pm
Kathy: oh, that’s really sweet of you! Thanks! It might be best stated: if you have a question to ask, please read through the previous comments and categories on this site before posting it. There’s also a fancy search engine on the sidebar too — it works really well, I use it all the time to find previously posted information. Anyway, I spend more time approving comments that contain questions that have been asked and answered dozens of times before — your taking the time to search for your own answer first saves me a lot in the long run.
I’ll be closing this thread out in about 2 hours (9pm EST), so get your tips in before it’s too late!
rock 09.06.09 at 7:03 pm
If any newbies read this Golf tip for pebble beach golf that does not have that badge? You can get it if this still works? by hitting the ball out of bounds each and everytime thru whole course, maybe pogo fixed it? maybe they did not? but it use to work so all I can say is try that if you do not have that specific badge.
tigger 09.06.09 at 7:14 pm
rock, the glitch was fixed LONG time ago….i asked pogo for the badge simply by stating i tried and tried, couldnt get it and alas, they gave me the badge/tokens for it
Evelyn 09.06.09 at 7:31 pm
Lura, if there is something I can do to help you get the Pogo helps & tips put together, I’ll be most happy to help. Just consider it a bit of pay back for a GREAT website.
donna 09.06.09 at 7:45 pm
Happy Labor day weekend all. I can’t believe the kids have a day off less then a week after school started LOL
I thought of another tip..in mahjong safari make sure you try and work out the purple stars first. The power ups sure help when you get stuck at the end.
Shelly I believe this has been fixed
Also I have another game tip that I haven’t seen mentioned, this time for Lost Temple Poker. If like me you aren’t worried about losing tokies but want to get ranks go into the game and bet 1. Hit deal then weight down the enter key (either by holding it or like me use a bottle of nail varnish…lol) This will auto deal for you for 50 games/hands until the free game which you have to play manually.
Ayli you can look me up anytime on pogo that you need help China19594
I was also wondering how you guys got so many passes for free pogo? I cannot win to save my life!!
Jennifer 09.06.09 at 7:46 pm
Great thread Lura…..
and alot of really good tips…..
Good Luck to all the winners, whomever they may be and hopefully the weekends will always be this forth coming when their isnt anything to win….
I dont need to enter the contest, so my sucking up is legit without needing anything as Im sure most on here are….
But…not only is Lura giving away the passes, shes also making the tips into their own thread, which means more work for her and more happy pogoing for us….
She is the best of the best when it comes to feeding our Pogo Addiction….
Thank you for all you do…….

Wow, everyone is posting some really helpful hints!
I’m not sure if anyone is going to find mine helpful, but it’s just a little trick to make the game go by faster:
Penguin Blocks – you rank up by getting Bob to “retire”, and you “retire” by earning money. A helpful trick to making a bit more money is to connect blocks with fish on it BEFORE you send Bob to them. This is easier in “Easy” mode, where you have more time before the penguins get to the fish. Use the blocks to connect two or three fish (when they’re connected the ice they’re on turns pink) THEN connect Bob to any part of the pink ice. Bob will move to the fish any penguin is closest too, then the next one. It’s a combo, and you make a little bit more money for each fish he collects in a row. This helps you get to the next “upgrade” in the game, and closer to retirement.
Happy Gaming Everyone!

I have a question maybe someone can anwser why do you need the timer or what ever set for crossword cove I always thought the faster you got it done the better?
donna 09.06.09 at 8:01 pm
PS FORGOT THIS ONE LOL
For the mix and match where you have to bowl a turkey you can purchase this badge AFTER you bowl the turkey and activate it BEFORE the game is over and you will still get the badge!
