I won’t be getting either of these badges this week I am terrible at sea ball and can;t stand and won’t play steller sweeper maybe my hubby will be nice and do them for me he likes both these games
Lura 08.26.09 at 10:50 am
Monica: aw, you should at least give them a try. I absolutely detest both games but am working on the badges now. It’s not so bad, I promise. :)
Therese 08.26.09 at 10:58 am
Monica,
If you need help I love steller sweeper.
Lura 08.26.09 at 11:00 am
Therese: I’m so glad someone loves it! :) I was wondering, is there any best difficulty setting to play on? I think there isn’t, but I was just wondering. I’m playing on medium and get between 0-4 gas jets per round.
Monica 08.26.09 at 11:02 am
I will try to get the badges then but still might get hubby to help me
Patti 08.26.09 at 11:15 am
I’m having a hard time w/ stellar sweeper. Does anyone have any good hints on how to get thru the game?
Pogogirl 08.26.09 at 11:20 am
Sounds like I’m in the minority… I’m looking forward to both of these. I rarely play either game except for badges, which makes them seem fresh.
Can’t say that I really have any tips per se, though!
Deborah 08.26.09 at 11:28 am
I usually do my pc first, as the rooms get crowded. When I played Sea Ball this morning to first my Badge Album, I realised how much I hate that game. May get my son to play it! He’s back to school next week, so it’ll give him something to do in the meantime! lol
tigger 08.26.09 at 11:34 am
i play on easy level, i guess its just whatever level u feel comfy on..i detest stellar but have gotten quite a bit…seaball my FAV game :) hadnt tried it yet
evanka11 08.26.09 at 11:40 am
i’m 1/2 way thru Stellar already — i’ve found that easy is best — medium didn’t seem to give me gas jets at all.
vibirdlady 08.26.09 at 11:44 am
Albeit slow, I can muddle my way through Stella Sweeper in a couple of hours. Tried Boardwalk Sea Ball for the first time yesterday just to see rules and find out how to play. Think I will be able to win my 4,500, just may take longer than a couple of hours, unless my aim gets better! Looking forward to hints from other BH folks. There always seems to be someone who has found the best way to play who shares it with those of us here looking for help.
cherie 08.26.09 at 11:46 am
you get the most gas (that just doesn’t sound right!) on hard level but i’ve been getting 1-3 on easy. i love the game lol. i finished it under my name, my fiance’s name and a friend’s name!
sea ball i can live without but at least the badge is pretty doable.
good luck on your badges, everyone!
Chrissy 08.26.09 at 12:04 pm
I was wondering what planets people were playing on and getting gas (i agree with cherie, it just sounds bad LOL).
Chrissy 08.26.09 at 12:09 pm
I forgot to add, I am on Terra and getting 1-3 gas jets per game there.
Nicole 08.26.09 at 12:12 pm
On Stellar Sweeper, play on easy and the biggest planet you can. That has helped me. On Boardwalk Seaball, I can’t stand the game but I will do my best to get it.
Mommalove44433 08.26.09 at 12:28 pm
I hate both games and actually got em both done in 2 hrs and 15 min with smoke breaks in between lol. Not good at seaball, but just kept at it. Easy is what I played on for stellar, and I got that no problem. Use a lot of right clicks and then get rid of ? and left click, went fast. I averaged 2/3 a game on Super Nova planet actually. Love the site, gl all.
Bonnie 08.26.09 at 12:41 pm
Hint for Stellar Sweeper:
Click on the outside of the planet. When you get a large bunch of squares cleared, look at the board. If you didn’t get a spin gas, hit new game and move on. The spin gas usually turns up fairly early in the game so you’re probably not missing one. And, after all, what’s the point of playing the round if it doesn’t get you any progress towards the badge ?
Jillian 08.26.09 at 1:03 pm
A hint I haven’t seen mentioned that’ll stop you from having to click every square… When you’ve determined where a bomb is (such as a 1 in a corner) mark that square by right clicking on it. Then, place your pointer on all of the 1′s around that bomb and double click your mouse, it will uncover all of the spaces surrounding that square. (This works for all of the numbers as long as you have that many bombs already marked.)
I love Stellar Sweeper and always play Terra on the hard level. Sadly, I maxed ranks out very shortly after the game came out and only get to justify playing it when a badge comes out (too many other games I have to still max out in). Boardwalk SeaBall on the other hand, I’m not looking forward to. I played 2 games when it first came out and determined I don’t like it. Besides the fact that you can’t take a break without losing or leaving the game, I get frustrated with how random the shooting is.
EdC 08.26.09 at 1:40 pm
Now these where some crappy challenges in my opinion ;)
Stellar sweeper- I played on easy and chose planet Terra since it is the largest(maybe a better chance to uncover more gas jets? who knows) and click till the board opens up. Let’s say you find a crystal with the #1 next to it. Just double click(press the left and right button on your mouse at the same time) on that number and the board opens up even more. You can double click on any number as long as the crystals are found for that number. Believe me, once you get the hang of double clicking you will do it all the time and I have never lost a game on easy doing it this way.
Boardwalk seaball- I’m not good at this game so I picked a room with nobody in it. You get points for coming in first place. They may not be a huge amount but every bit helps.
Good luck everyone!
Dawn 08.26.09 at 3:16 pm
I love stellar sweeper!!! But it doesnt matter what level you play on it all averages out (I actually kept track of this one time to see if it mattered) LOL and now I cant believe I never knew about the double clicking thing (DUH) so thanks for the tip!! I also find that playing on the terra planet – level 1 seems to be the easiest As far as sea ball I find that it is growing on me but my blood pressure seems to go up when I play on it (from concentrating so hard) LOL So I hope it goes quick ;)
gl ev1 on the badges!
Indy 08.26.09 at 3:52 pm
I like both challenges and was finished with both in just under 3 hours earlier today. I got the weekly seaball challenge along with the Aug. mix and match and the challenge in the album.., so 3 badges at once was a good deal for me. I then went on to stellar sweeper and got that badge also. I played on the dwarf planet, clicking the outer edges a couple times to clear some away, then proceeded on and got that badge done in a bit less than an hour. Working on my personal now. Good luck everyone.
widow 08.26.09 at 5:01 pm
i happily greeted both these badges, but i know i’m in the minority. finished up with a pretty spades badge for my pc.
*vibirdlady, on battle boats, make a straight line on the right when 5′s are these, ball in middle and hang a curve from mid-lane for them on the left; duck shot, there are fewer purple and greens, so start w/ one of those, finish it out, then the other. leave a 4 o2 to jump to the red or yellow. coral still seems a crapshoot to me, but go for the most coral INCLUDING clear. after 10 pts. they all keep adding. clams, again, i emphasize the very tip of your arrow. squid, aim arrow TIP just past them, or their mouths. i really did learn to enjoy this game, because of the variety. usually play by myself (for the most tkts, of course!) a little each day…have slowly worked my way to rank 26(pats self on back, lol).
hope these tips help, and ev1 enjoying the day! as always, lura, love the site. gla!
jaredph 08.26.09 at 5:32 pm
On stellar sweeper, go for the easy level and planet Terra (since it’s the largest). Even though it has fewer gas jets than the hard level, it’s a lot faster to finish easy puzzles than hard puzzles. After I get my first big click (clears a lot of sqaures), if a gas jet doesn’t come, I start over so I can get another chance.
On boardwalk, go to a room with a lot of people because the bonuses for the top finishers are larger there.
Round 1: Try to stay away from the 1′s and 2′s.
Round 2: On duck shot, I usually go color by color (get rid of all of one color, then all of another color, etc.), but make sure the number of the last duck of that color is on another duck to keep the streak going. It takes a bit of time to figure out, but it’s worth it :)
Round 3: Aim your ball near the top where a lot of cacti are. You can earn a lot of points by hitting a lot of cacti on the same shot.
Round 4: You have to be quick with the mouse on this round. If you see a small shell coming, start to aim your mouse towards it, and if it’s not red, shoot it. The small ones are worth 25 or 50 points (as long as you don’t shoot the red ones worth -50.)
Round 5: Aim mainly for the red and yellow squids, since they travel faster than the green ones and are worth more points (20 and 10). However, the most important goal is to keep them away from the pearls.
Hope these tips help! :)
Gecko 08.26.09 at 5:43 pm
I have a tip for those of us playing on laptops that can’t do the dual button clicks – if you right click on a number (as you would in the dual method) all the possible squares that number “owns” are lit up. If you click on a 1, for instance, all the possibilities are highlighted – if you’ve already found a crystal in its “owned” squares, you know it is safe to click all the rest of them away normally. This isn’t as fast as the dual click method, but does point out the obvious for those of us not always paying much attention and gets almost the same job done. GL, it seems like too short of a time between stellar badges, but this is one game I don’t have love for, even though it is good to play different games each week!
Cheryl5000 08.26.09 at 6:31 pm
I absolutely HATE both of these games but I did manage to get both of my badges done. Why do they have to put two horrible games on at the same time!!!! UGGGGGGG !!!!!!
Chrissy 08.26.09 at 6:44 pm
The Boardwalk challenge is bad…. You have to come in in the top 5 to get any tokens out of that game…. Unfortunately I didn’t look at the tips for it before. I ended up playing in a empty room so i could get some tokens. I hope everyone has better luck with it then I did.
HomelessDog 08.26.09 at 8:47 pm
If you’re REALLY good at Boardwalk Seaball, then by all means play in a full room and get the extra tokens. But if you suck at Boardwalk Seaball then you should play in an empty room. You won’t get all the extra tokens for beating a lot of players, but you’ll get the full 20 tickets every game which will help you go up in ranks.
Ban 08.26.09 at 9:19 pm
@Cheryl.
Not everyone thinks there horrible, i actually enjoy both.. so keep that in mind next time you comment. Thank You
And liked both this weeks like I said, i just hate the long ranks in Stellar since im rank 13 lol
Lura 08.26.09 at 9:35 pm
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. Ban, you have every right to come here and talk about how you enjoy both games just as Cheryl has the right to come talk about how she hates them both. :)
nephthys 08.26.09 at 10:00 pm
I like Boardwalk Seaball! (one of the ew on this site who does! lol) but its one of those games that gets pretty boring fast. I play in the full rooms and place usually first or second. Have only done two games and im over half way there.
Steller Sweeper sucks! Ugh. Especially because I JUST finished a premium badge that required my getting 10 JP spins. (I really should have read ahead on the challenges!) With that said, its easy too… but like Seaball, I lose interest fast.
Ellen 08.27.09 at 1:21 am
Well, a HUGE thank-you to EdC (#19 above). Double-clicking was just the hint I needed…with his method I got 13 perfect games in a row! Now I am totally addicted to this game (THANKS A LOT, ED!!)
This is such a great site where everyone shares such useful tips (not like in some of the game rooms today where folks were getting a bit testy.) Good luck with the badges, y’all!
springk 08.27.09 at 8:02 am
jaredph – thanks so much for your seaball tips. I never played the game before and your tips helped me know what to expect. I got the badge so much faster than I had expected.
I love this site – have gotten so much help here!
Pebbles 08.27.09 at 8:47 am
I don’t know if anyone noticed but I’m not getting all my tokens when I beat the volcano (4000), twice yesterday it only awarded me half. Has anyone else had this problem?
iwoz10 08.27.09 at 9:48 am
Thank You for the advice # 19 EdC!!!
I thought I was going to lose my mind on how to play Stellar Sweeper!
Even after reading the How to play section, I was still not doing it right.
Thank goodness for this WONDERFUL web site and all it’s contributors.
sandy z 08.27.09 at 10:26 am
I guess I’m in the minority because I loved both of these challenges. Finished stellar years ago and hence I rarely play it now but it’s a great game …. got my badge on easy in less than 40 minutes. I believe the spin gas is completely random so why play on hard. There was a loudmouth in my room telling everyone to play on hard to get more gas but I was the first one done the badge so i say pffftttt to that lmao!!
I also adore seaball but so many people were having trouble with it. I wonder why people don’t practice a game they haven’t played when they see it’s coming up for a challenge.
Susan 08.27.09 at 11:07 am
I enjoy playing stellar and did my personal in there also so I could get the next rank badge. I play on easy, on dwarf star, and just take my time. I find it relaxing.
Now, Boardwalk Sea Ball is another story :) I’m doing the mix & match and the new album badge along with the weekly challenge. I almost had a perfect squid round on the first game I played, missed 1 stinking squid….LOL But I will not give up until I get those 8 perfect rounds.
Normally I go into a game and just play until I finish the badge, but just can’t seem to do that here. I have a problem with my hands and the constant use of the mouse bothers me. But I will get it down before the end of the challenge. I’ll just play other games in between.
Thanks for all the tips. I read them all before I started as I had only played Boardwalk Sea Ball once or twice before.
Good Luck to everyone!!!
Faith 08.27.09 at 6:25 pm
Pebbles #33….yes, I have noticed that in Addiction Solitaire you do not get the full token count after you win the volcano the first time. Since I have ranked out in Addiction I do not play it often except for badges in a weekly challenge, and I noticed it still hasn’t changed. Sometimes after winning the volcano I go completely out of the game, refresh, and come back and try again to win it for the full count.
Lura 08.27.09 at 6:30 pm
Faith: how did you figure out that she was talking about Addiction Solitaire? I’ll admit I haven’t been paying that much attention to this thread (busy with Big Sea Games stuff this week, mostly) but I assumed there was a volcano in Stellar Sweeper I’d just not seen yet. I’m a noob. :)
Paint 08.27.09 at 6:42 pm
Thanks on the Sea ball tips. It has greatly improved my game. I still do not get the boat one yet or the hang a curve strategy. The ball seems to go where it wants, it’s especially attracted to #1. On the ducks, nearer to the end of the round I am getting gray ducks w/ green heads. What’s going on there, is it my computer?
Lol Lura, I thought u were generously allowing off topic.
Lura 08.27.09 at 7:29 pm
Paint: I like to think I’ve been pretty generous with the off-topics for the past week or so. I also opened a few posts to comments that I normally would have left closed. I can’t really explain the change, other than that maybe the whole Subway thread broke me of my stubbornness. :P With that said, a happy Lura is one who doesn’t have to approve or disapprove off-topic comments at all. :P
Now back on topic! In Sea Ball, which I never play, if you’re trying to get a good score for the squid round, aim at their leggy lil’ butts. :)
Cyrabi 08.27.09 at 7:52 pm
Hi all, both my weeklies are now done. I was able to get the Stellar Sweeper and Summer badges at the same time. In Seaball you get bonus tokens if you finish high up, get a clear and perfect in a round. Spins help too. In Sweeper I played on easy and didn’t stay on the same board the whole time. Off topic: Come on Pogo! Please release Mini Golf Madness next week. I like mini golf and the pics of the game look cool, wanna play it soon.
shelly 08.28.09 at 5:46 am
Paint #39. The grey ducks with green heads come along when you have cleared all ducks in play and have time left, they are bonus ducks so hit as many as you can!
Faith 08.28.09 at 8:07 am
lol Lura….the only other volcano I remember is in Casino Island Blackjack, and you get the correct token count in that. But you definitely don’t after beating the volcano the first time each visit in Addiction.
EdC 08.28.09 at 12:19 pm
Glad I could help a few of you with the Stellar Sweeper tip. It is included in the ‘how to play’ section but sometimes reading those instructions just makes it more complicated.
Thanks to Lura for this site and for giving us the opportunity to help each other.
Cathy 08.28.09 at 12:24 pm
I also said I was not going for these badges because I too detest theses games. In Steller Sweeper I wish they had designed the challenge for the most times you blow up the little green dude. I have to admit I’m great at that. And in the other game my aim was so bad that I could not hit the floor if I fell on it. But I’m no quitter either. So I’m going back and give it my all. Good Luck to you all.

I finished Stellar Sweep right away because I LOVE that game. I even begged my brother to do his as well. I am having a slower time doing the other one but I am slowly getting there. Good Luck everyone.
catania1966 08.29.09 at 7:53 pm
well I hope you all got ur badges for this week by now,if not, heres some tips hope they help.
For boardwalk seaball – ducks- the hardest ducks to match are ur 1s and 5s,there are only a few of them and not in every color,so match them first, then clear out the rest as you ALWAYS get a 2,3 & 4 in EVERY color, therefore easier to continue streak. in corral,i find start at the top of the screen first – 2 reasons if you start at top balls will hit other corrals on way down hence clearing more area, and also when you clear an area the light blue corral appears which slows ur ball down to clear the other colors, but if all the light blue corral is at top,you can aim ur ball to land halfway down on the colors u still need to clear.
thanks again to lura for this site, and all her helpers
