It looks very puzzle-y to me, the game pieces shown in the badges look like Tetris pieces, however the triangle-shaped one in the third badge throws me off. ;)

looks like tetris to me too — or
it could be shape-placing — like shape shifter (where you place the pieces that fit into the right holes/spaces/shapes)

Hmmm….yes, I thought of Tetris too, but it also reminds me of Penguin Blocks. Maybe a cross between Penguin Blocks and Tetris with a little Beaker Creatures thrown in.

Those pieces in the first badge do look Tetris-y so maybe it will have aspects of Tetris, an old fave of mine for sure.
I don’t know what the game will be but the little aliens are as cute as a bug’s ear. :)

It also has a seasonal theme, like ev1 bingo–spring, summer, fall, winter, and then outer space (lol)…that may mean that ranks 10-40 are earthly possible, while rank 50 is out-of-this-world.

Come on lol its so obvicaly Tangram look in the first pic theres a pice that isnt in tetris or any other game but tangram realisticaly if you look really close in the 3rd pic theres 3 pices another 2 pices from tangram so yer but hay well see tetris with a hexagon ish shape be rather impossible but u do have tht put the pices in the picture thing dont you that what ever yo call that company that make most TOgo games make so could be one of them with badges

I guess it’s possible pogo is doing Tetris. I found a site where EA has a cellphone version of Tetris.

not familiar with tangram but I surely do love tetris and most puzzle games so I’ll say woo hoo looks great. And the badges are pretty cute …. something I very rarely say about recent pogo badges!!

ewwwwww ok Sudoku would not interest me at all *sigh* … but yeah my first thoughts were on the tetris-y level, but any puzzle game would be awesome. LOVE the badges!

Adding to HomelessDog’s suggestion, he’s also pointed this Play Now graphic out:
I’m not sure, though. Here’s a link to the game on Shockwave.com — and tho the graphic in the Play Now here is the same as it is there, the badges are still not a solid match for me.

I also have this sneaking suspicion that the Play Now graphic is an old one, not new. (All of the new Play Nows look a lot shinier, and more updated — like this one.)
And, sort of sealing my suspicion is this quote from a 2004 review of Pogo.com: “Additionally, there is fun to be had with Sweet Tooth, Zuma, Swashbucks, Shape Shifter, Rumble Cube, Rocket Mania (I like this one quite a bit), Cubis, Collapse, Bounce Out!, Animal Ark Mah Jong, and Alchemy.”

Ah, you might well be right. I just ran some names through my links, and saw that and felt it was too much of a coincidence to pass up. But it is suspect, especially seeing your information. However, I assumed it was a placeholder image and that new graphics would be underway. Much like the existing Risk play now button which is just the word “risk” overlayed on an older image. lol

HomelessDog: I never know what’s going on in the mind of Pogo, especially lately! It could be that they’re re-vamping Shape Shifter for a new release and that PlayNow you found is just a placeholder? I guess we’ll find out soon enough! :)

I am pretty sure that Shape Shifter is a popcap.com game, and I know it’s been around for a LONG time. I have also seen that graphic before I think. My vote goes to Tengram (like Puzzle Inlay game online)

thanks, lura — i guess since they have a bunch of similar games (quick quack, beaker creatures, parts of boardwalk sea ball, etc) it probably won’t be.
an updated/more exciting version of it would be very fun tho.

It does look to be like some form of a puzzle.Maybe something cross like between Sudoka Puzzle Blast and Stellar Sweeper.
