Any tips on how to play Hearts would be useful. My 11 year old will be doing the Sweet Tooth and personal challenge badge. He has become a bit of a Pogo addict lately! He loves Phlinx.

not sure on hearts, cause i had the most points, yet it said bot 2 won, so my advice, play with ppl cause bots cheat..

deb i have a hard time with hearts also i will take any hints .Hearts has never been my game gl everyone with badges sweet thoothwent pretty fast i played on level 2

points are bad in hearts. You need to have the least points to win. Hope this helps.

Hearts is basically the opposite of spades. In Hearts, low score or the least amount of points wins. The goal is to get rid of hearts, 13 of them worth one point each, and the queen of spades which is worth 13 points for a total of 26 points per hand. So, pass your highest cards and the queen of spades. Another great tip is to try to void yourself of a suit when you pass so that you can trump that suit with your hearts or the queen of spades. I’m confused. How do I win a 50-point game when the object is to get as few points as possible? Am I supposed to win a game where one of the other players has at least 50 points?

you dont have to get 50 points – you set the game to 50 points and hope you are the one with the least amount of points when game ends :)

yes u want other person to get fifty points. i will share with u how i set up my table so i can usually win with bots and humans. click on options then u will see About the hearts game there are 6 boxes to check check all but the first one Hearts can not be broken until hearts is played, and jack of diamonds to shoot the moon. set game to fifty. Now when
i pass cards to bots i keep q and low hearts i can usually stick’em good when i pass them all aces. Oh one more thing try to get that jack of diamond its worth -10!!!! good luck e1 if u want me to help let me know i will be in hearts all week i’am doing a 2003 challenge win 100 games. :)

In hearts you want to have the least pts as possible. A 50 point game ends when one of the players its the 50 point mark. Then the player with the least amount of points wins.

someone or the bots if you are playing against them needs to hit 50 to close out the game. You need the least amount of points to win. So player 1 has 50, player 2 has 48, player 3 30 and you have 20 for example, you would win.

its like trumps, but you have to try and discard any heart or the queen of spades to your oppenents winning tricks. The game will end when one person reaches 50 points at which time you need to have the lowest score.
when passing cards try to get a void suit or one one card, if you have the king or ace of spades in your hand pass them.

Tip for sweet tooth
start matching at bottom of screen, as you match and clear candy more candy will fall down, better and faster chance to get badge that way, had mine in less than 20 mins

I’ve noticed that after completing a puzzle on Crossword Cove and submitting it following accurate completion based on information provided on this site that I am not being issued a jackpot spin. Has this happened to anybody else?

i’d be happy to help anyone with hearts. HOWEVER…please make sure you read the how to play first! i’m more than willing to help but not teach if someone hasn’t at least made an effort to figure out how to play.

also…in hearts…if you’re playing with a friend and see one of the bots is winning (has the least points), you can stand up and move to that seat and it’ll still count as a win. =)

I actually love to play hearts so and have completed my badge so if anyone needs help I dont mind doing so …..most will get confused like those on here that you win in hearts by having the least amount of points….get rid of the high cards and try not to get caught with the queen of spades….the less you take the better off you are….

how do you set up a 50 point game? I tried to play w/ the bots but that was 100 points and the options were greyed out. I don’t want to play w/ real people since I have no idea what i’m doing. This one is going to take me forever. I had the Sweet tooth one really quick though.

Shari you can set your game up in the options to play 50 points…arrow down where it says 25 or whatever # and choose 50 “game over score”…just remember in playing the bots ….especially not knowing the game well that its 3 against 1…so good luck!!!

Babbm90, on Crossword Cove, be sure to check for all correct letters. If even one is off, you will not get spin. It’s an option on the screen after you click all done.

Shari make sure that the option button to save your options is unchecked. Then you should be able to change your table options. It also helps to go under advanced options and make the passing be straight across the table like it would be in spades or pinochle.

Hearts -
I double browse for the badge. My second name will try to take all my losers.
This helps a lot for you not to take tricks(points). Also by doing this the second name will lose a lot and faster(getting to 50 points). The three hand(you pass across table) you can pass losers to your second name and it can pass pass you low cards.
It works for me. Did a badge for a friend and won 5 hands straight. That was after she won 3 games in 3 hours.

The Sweet Tooth 2 badge was easy. I played on level 3, could’ve done it in one sitting when I saw how easy it was but decided to spread it out a little bit. :) Use the power-ups, they do help. Play on the level you’re most comfortable with. Good Luck to all.

Hearts Hint:
1. Play with robots because they don’t get mad when you stick them with the queen of spades.
2. If you get stuck with the queen and/or your score is higher than the bots, just leave the game and start a new game.
I got the badge in about an hour using this method.

Hearts:
The way I have found to win most of the time is 1st to allow dumping of hearts/Queen on 1st trick.
With game play, during pass dump off your clubs or shortest suit … clubs works best as it is always the 1st played. Also when passing NEVER pass your spades as more often then not you will be passed the A-Q of spades … you will need what ever you have to guard against eating the Q. During play, break hearts as soon as you can and dump your high cards … if you can stay out of the lead you will win the hand, 3-4 hands and you will win the game.
Just in case ya didn’t know – you win by having the lowest point count when someone goes over 50, the key to taking little to no points is running out of a suit so you can dump your high cards and avoid taking the lead.

I am not able to change the table options at all in hearts. Every time I try, all of the choices are greyed out and will not take changes. I have read the suggestions above, but whenever I click on the options button, the choices that appear will not allow me to make any changes. Will someone please share with me how to do this?

Pochi and Kathy: Are you creating your own table, or trying to join another player’s? Only the table creator can set those options, and only when they create the table.

PochiPal instead of choosing “Play against Robots” choose a room to play. Sit at an empty table (if there is one). Then you will be able set your game play. Send me a message on Pogo and we can work on a beginner game together. My screen name is HRH2M

Bill and HRM2M, thanks for your help (and willingness to play!) I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was clicking on “play now” from the main hearts page. This always took me to a table that did not allow me to change the options. So instead of clicking “play now”, I clicked on a room, which then gave me a choice of tables. I selected an empty table and that allowed me to set the table options. Hope this helps.

when playing hearts always remember queen of spads is worth 13 points so u dont want that layed on you try to get ride of it when for example when someone plays a diomand and u dont have one play the queen of spades and another thing all hearts are worth 1 points each so dont will the heart piles all other cards are worth nothing so winn all them you want good luck all

When playing hearts open a room yourself so you can set the game at 50 points instead of the default of 100 points. Makes it go much faster

Hearts I will NEVER forget!This is the first game I played for a badge as a member. I didn’t know about making rooms so I just went into a room. I must have gotten in with some old hearts pros. I kept shooting the moon. They got so angry! They kept telling me that I knew what I was doing and when I asked them to explain they told me nobody was that stupid. I after the crying for a bit the next day got a room to myself and played until I learned. To this day? I can’t shoot the moon for the life of me! Lol!
It’s not too hard to learn once you learn the basics which have been laid out here pretty nicely.GL all! I have to do mine and then hubbys. *groan*
