Happy weekend everyone!
What were you up to all week? Me, I was zonked out with a horrible headcold most of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I even missed my first yoga class of Spring. Pout! However, I am feeling better now and life’s feeling like it’s already getting back to normal.
I’m getting really excited for the upcoming games, especially Lottso Express (keeping my fingers crossed for Tuesday, here’s the “coming soon” announcement from Pogo) and Boggle Bash. Boggle was always my favorite “board” game as a kid and young adult. In fact, I got my start playing games online with Tangleword at Playsite (that was eventually bought by Lycos and later scrapped). That was in 1995.
Do you have a favorite ‘board’ game that you’d like to see ported to the internet? (If you’re going to say Risk or Battleship, pick something else because those are coming to Pogo too!)

Monica: did you ever play the PC or Playstation version of LIFE? Oh, it was so much fun.
I tried to find a reputable link to a free trial, but alas I couldn’t find anything I’d trust enough to link to. However, here is the physical PC game at Amazon if anyone is willing to take the leap: The Game of Life.
I also really enjoyed the PC version of Clue many, many years ago. I’ve seen a few different versions over the years but I’d like to see one that’s got a lot of multiplayer options and unfortunately older games just don’t have a lot of people waiting to play online. Somehow I doubt Pogo’s going to pick that one up…
A fantastic board-to-video game that I’ve been playing again lately is Ticket to Ride. I played the PC version for years and recently picked up the Xbox Live version — love it!

Hi hope this is the right place…..this really ticks me off…do not get me wrong i do love pogo..but well they changed that sock hop badge requirements to you need to win the story bonus 6 times in 4 days..says on the badge now…when i contacted pogo and asked for a refund because this is not what the badge said when i bought it and i do not have time to finish this one i was treated rudely and told no refunds….so yeah it was changed

This one is easy for me … Titan. The “housekeeping” (setup/cleanup) on this game takes a long time, and having it online would be nice.

happy easter weekend everyone.. as far as board games i would love to see Clue, i used to play that one all the time on the games.com then turned atari site when they had all the hasbro games, oh and sorry that was good too.. other than that pogo has already put my favorite game *scrabble* and will be releasing boggle. but clue is fun i love that game, and my 8 year old likes to take it out of the closet and play too…but like ya said they may not do that one, and you can download a 60min trial of the Game of Life one too I got it at reflexive arcade.

i to ,chris requested a refund for that badge but pogo seems not to accept responiably for that BIG mistake ,its not fair.but if i cant get it ill be on them again,again.the money we spend here pogo should treat us better ,and not take us for granted cause somewhere along the line the buck will stop and others will follow.its not just us having that problem lots of others. happy easter all, hagd

it really is not fair i spend too much money on this site and every single time i contact pogo with a problem …1. i get a automated response that has nothing to do with my problem or 2. i get a big oh well live with it response…i told them i considered the badge false advertising..but i get the feeling they do not care…

Happy Easter all. Lura, glad to see you are still working out and keeping fit. I remember the one that came to your house before you became a most beautiful bride. Is hubby keeping up with you in the working out and stuff?
Anyway, as to board games, Pogo has basically covered all that I liked and have played or they are coming out with them. I am not particular, I just love when Pogo does come out with a new game, of course some I like more than others, but I do play 99.9% of the games Pogo has, just not a fan of the Poker games.

I think Aggravation would work on Pogo if they don’t make ranking too high. Almost everyone likes that game. How about Parcheesi? I think that could be enjoyable as well. Have a safe and happy Easter!
*As for the off topic Pogo refund posts, EA Pogo does NOT refund no matter what the problem is, period. Even at the extent of losing the customer. Your money is worthy, you are expendable. That’s just how it is and is the stated policy.
**Off topic reference your last weekend poll asking would we be willing to pay for a lifetime Pogo membership. I put that to a vote at my Club Pogo Pals board and the results are: 54% would pay as high as $400 for a lifetime membership (which is what we currently pay for a 10 year membership now). 36% said they would not pay for a lifetime membership no matter what the cost. 9.1% would pay up to $600. I was surprised at these stats.

Its not a board game I know but I’d love to see skip-bo on pogo. I have only just learnt how to play it recently when I got it from reflexive and I love it! Once I have beaten the AI players I probably won’t play it so much but having it on Pogo and playing for ranks would be great!
I’m really looking forward to Lottso Express and am praying I’m not disappointed in any way at all….lol
With mono slots I’m not sure if I’m just luckier lately but I seem to move round the board more oten than when the game was first released.

for those that are complaining that pogo will not refund their money, you need to read the TOS (FEES ARE PAYABLE IN ADVANCE AND ARE NOT REFUNDABLE IN WHOLE OR IN PART).. it is clearly stated that they do not issue refunds.. when you go and buy MnM badges at the bottom of the screen where you check out it does say:Note: All Sales are Final .
with them stating that in more places than one on thier site that all sales are final, (meaning NO REFUNDS), then legally they don’t have to issue a refund to a customer who is not happy with what they purchased. and you can hound them all you want but you will keep getting the same answer over and over again that they will not issue a refund and that the sale was final. So for the badge that you are working on and feel is unfair and want your money back as much as i hate to say it, you are stuck with it and either never do it or keep trying or find someone who can do it for you, pogo is NOT going to give you any money back, even if they were the ones that did not clearly state the requirements for that game.

ah Wendi my students and I have played Phase 10 and skip bo on almost all of our competition road trips, to where someone is always having to buy new cards…
I would have to say Im looking forward to Boggle, played it so much with my grandmother.

This week was a good one. We finally had a couple sunny says and I was able to walk downtown without freezing to death.
I think the board game I’d most like to see on Pogo is Life. I don’t play many other board games aside from Sorry, but I don’t think Sorry would transfer well. Another game I think would be fun online…it’s not a board game but something like Wheel of Fortune. I know there’s the hangman game, but that’s not the same. I like the idea of spinning a wheel to let you know how many points (or tokens) you’ll get if you guess correctly. They could do a lot to make it different from hangman.
We can no longer get to Lottso Express on the beta site. They tend to take it down the week before it comes out, so I’d say chances are pretty high that it’ll be out on Tuesday. Yay!

Actually one of the board (or maybe it should be called mat) games I like to play is Sequence. Kind of a blend of card and board game. I am also a fan of Clue. Pogo does take some of their ideas from another source (for example, 1000 Island Solitaire is copied from a card game called Milles Bornes.) Maybe we will see games based on some of these in the future.

It’s not a board game, but I’d love it if they added Uno. I loved playing it as a kid and once found a downloadable game that only worked in dos (in other words, haven’t played it since Windows came along).

I really like this site, friendly and intelligent people talking and great and clean looking info on pogo.com. The board game I would like to see would be trouble/sorry as others have stated. I think skip bo wouldnt be a bad idea. Speaking of new games, anyone try the new monopoply card game demo? Kind of suprised that they didnt make it a full fledged game on pogo. The game seemed ok.
Sorry about your cold, just got over one myself and it was not fun. I would also like to say that pogo does make some mistakes however I still think its a great value for $30/40 a year. Also pogo should hire you to work for them as you are so passioninate about pogo and it shows in the work you do on this website. Hope you get better soon.

For the boardgame question, I think I might like to see Stratego (anyone remember that game?) on Pogo. It would be interesting to see how they would set it up. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Clue. I always enjoyed that game when I was younger. Chinese Checkers also could be pretty fun.
I was a tad disappointed with the mini releases this week. There wasn’t much released for people who don’t use gems. Seems like Pogo is starting to make a move towards making the Mini Mall mostly gems items.
I’m hoping next week will be an exciting on one Pogo. Hopefully we’ll see Lottso! Express released. I’ve been looking forward to that game ever since hearing about it!
I’ve got a question. Does anyone know if doing the daily Trivial Pursuits on the French and German sites will count towards rank like doing both the US and UK sites? I was able to sign into both the French and German sites using my US username and password and I loaded up a room on the German site. It goes back to November 2008 and it’s showing that I didn’t have any of the pies complete. I don’t speak a lick of French or German so I didn’t play the game to try it out. It would be cool if it did. Finish that game up even quicker! lol

Jennifer: I thought originally that FR and DE had a whole different database of users, but I guess not. I think the language barrier would kill me if I were to try to keep up with those two sites’ answers as well. If anyone’s multilingual, I’d be excited to hear whether or not you could rank up even faster by answers all four (egads, I don’t even want to think about that) versions daily.

Tim, my boyfriend and I tried the Monopoly Deal demo Pogo linked to and really liked it. We went out and bought it at Toys R Us ($5) yesterday and we’re totally addicted to it now. It’s much more fun than the demo. Each game is kind of short, but it’s fun enough to play over and over. There are a lot of different cards and it kind of seems overwhelming at first, but it’s definitely not as complicated as we thought it’d be. It’s not a whole lot like Monopoly, either, which is good for me because I can’t stand the board game.

Haven’t had much time to play this week… been too torqued up trying to reach Pogo to complain about the 20 promo gem thingy you talked about last weekend. I tried & tried w/o success, tried once on hubby’s account (who doesn’t even use gems) & he got them! Used to have a phone number for Pogo, but misplaced it. Does anyone have it?
Glad to see Sweet Tooth is using the Easter puzzles a little – played 2-3 complete sets on “Hard” and got an Easter puzzle one time. Love those coconut birdsnests.

my favorite board is Othello. I wish pogo would get together with M&M and add the game to pogo. I play a version of Othello on M&M’s website called redgreen. but i would love to get tokens for it.

Lura, I sympathize, I’ve been sick the last 2 weeks with I thought, cold/allergies and finallly surrendered and went to emergency room last saturday and discovered I have strep throat and have had it all along. Just now able to swallow a little and my appetite is starting to come back. I’ve been sleeping and playing pogo when I’m up, thank goodness I have pogo when housebound. I’ve been remembering back when I got my pogo subscription and gems, albums, etc came out – I was shocked that they wanted us to pay for such things after paying for a 1 year membership, but slowly I was enticed by all the new, flashy badges and the group need to see who could get the newest badge first and I followed along with everybody and became obsessed about getting new albums. Then came the downloadables! Well, I could play them and get tokens too…so how could I resist! Now I look back at them and I don’t play most of them at all! So, I am not letting myself spend anymore money on anything unless I think about it at least 5 times first. I’m going to play all my Mix&Match again and again until I can’t get anymore tokens out of them and spend my gems only on the special badges (Easter) or sale badges only! And I’m only going to buy badges for games I really like to play, no more just buying them all up cause they are there! Speaking of the downloads, does everyone know that you can use the registration code 3 times for the game. Lots of people go together to buy the games and all use the same code and don’t have to pay full price each and when they go on sale – wow – think about it! In fact I bought a downloadable couple years ago that I can’t find the registration code for and EA/Pogo won’t help me find out which one I already bought and don’t play, they say it has to be within 90 days of buying it – how hard would it be to look my account up to see which ones I bought? I wish Pogo would add this option to our personal Account page, with registration codes on it. Whew!! I feel better now, sorry all for taking up so much space and rambling. Have a nice holiday all and don’t eat too many eggs/chocolate – LOL.

I was very excited to hear that Risk is coming to pogo. Many hours playing that game. I think that Life and Clue would be my choices for board games I would like to see pogo do. It might be interesting to see what pogo would add to them to keep them fun.
Slightly off topic – I would love to see pogo do more casino games. They have the card games covered (poker, blackjack, etc.), and we have lots of slots to choose from, but, when I am at a casino, I play craps. Yes, we have dice games, but nothing like craps. I think craps with the pogo treatment would be awesome. If you have played craps, you know it can get very exciting. Just imagine a whole room winning lots of tokens because one person has a hot roll. It would be fun to have the entire room cheering you on as you shoot the dice. Also, An updated roulette would be nice too.

No, I haven’t tried the XBox version of Uno… don’t have an XBox! The one and only gaming console I ever bought was Nintendo… and I only liked playing Mario Bros and Bubble Bobble on it, all the other games I tried were just too boring (I think I still have it buried around here somewhere, but I haven’t a clue where the games may be buried). I’ve never considered buying a more recent console because the majority of the games seem to be aimed at “shoot ‘em up” style formats and to me those aren’t ‘fun’. I prefer games that stimulate the mind at least a little… and before someone claims the games I played don’t, let me just say that trying to remember where all the power ups and hidden entrances were for each level wasn’t easy. lol

Jillian, if you go to Gamehouse.com and search for UNO you will be able to download a newer PC version of UNO. i played it and it wasn’t too bad, but i get bored with games easily now a days. Same for the game of Life, search on Gamehouse and you will be able to at the very least download a 60min trial for those games, and many other board games too. just a thought =o)

The game i think pogo really needs is uno and all of those titles. I played castaway caper skip-bo on that gamehouse.com it was really fun and different and interesting. Uno skip-bo and phase 10 i believe are all owned by mattel. I hope an understanding can be reached and all those titles come to pogo

One of my favorite games is Tripoley, the game of Michigan Rummy, Hearts and Poker. It would sure be fun on Pogo. I also would like to see UNO and Othello.
I played Monopoly Slots tonight, after someone here mentioned the dice were not as few and far between as in the beginning. I wrote down my token count before playing, and after the first two spins was down more than 6000. Despite that, I continued to play. I remembered that someone said to change rooms if you are not getting any dice, so after a half hour, I went to a new room, only to have my mover go from middle top to Go. I checked my rank and it went from a 7 to a 6. I got out of the game, closed the browser window and restarted my computer. I opened the game again to check on my rank, but the only thing that had changed was instead of a camel, my mover was a horse. What do you think? Are these common occurrences or was I just really jinxed from the start?

The board game I would like to see on Pogo is Oil King. The game requires players to drill for oil on a three-dimensional board, acquiring property and wealth. This was a very good game and lots of fun. it has been out of print for a long time.

I had always enjoyed playing UNO and hope that comes someday. The games I like are already coming to Pogo like Boggle. I also hope they work on an Othello game too since thats a fun strategic game that doesn’t take long at all – Considering they have games like blooop out there you never know :)

Aggravation would be great. Played that as a kid and I really enjoyed it. I would like to see people getting upset when they get into the middle of the board and can’t get out or get landed on by another person or by the bots; the minis would be priceless.
Life would be a great addition to the site and I hope that they would put the game available for use by Pogo players. I would also like to have a game board version of Trivial Pursuit; its much more fun not getting to the piece of the pie than just answering daily trivia questions, which seem to be recycled on a daily basis. Clue would also be fun.
Unfortunately, a lot people want games that stimulate them visually and don’t take a lot of time to do and not games that take a while to complete, ie board games.

A game that Pogo needs is Clue, Skip-Bo , Uno, Parcheesi. :)

Also bought the Monoply Deal this week and I LOVE IT! Me and my husband have been playing it all week. I havent even been on POGO!!! What a sin! Please dont yell at me! LOL LOL

Kaye. I think on Monopoly Slots you must have hit some big bugs. There’s no way that if the game was playing normally you would be down 6000 tokies in 2 spins.
Also to lose a rank and have your mover change itself is not a good thing.

trying to get this in b4 i go bed i am not wasteing my time on mono slots i lost even try as you say hop rooms didnt matter and i have Noticed like in poppit they add ya score b4 you know u got any and mono slots does that also ,

Off subject:
People like to complain about things. They want games taking off of Pogo. But the thing is there is over a million people playing on Pogo. No two people are the same. Some people can be happy sitting for hours playing word games, other like cards games. Pogo has a hard time pleasing everyone all the time. Then a lot of time kids use the parents accounts and play so then Pogo got to have games kids like to play. I think that it would be hard to work for pogo because you can please everybody all they the time. All they can do is please some of the people some of the time. Then if you not in the group that is happy you start sending e-mails, then complain about they answers. Pogo is just like an other business they have TOC if you read that it has lots of information. Sorry just had to vent .

when i was a kid i liked to play sorry and trouble they are great games im 40 and still play them today id like to see them come to pogo with ranks and badges also id like to see the games in pogo that dont have ranks and badges get them and id like to see pogo do an album on each game like they did with scrabble and monopoly id pay for them and another like do hoilday albums take care all good luck have fun happy easter

Life was my favorite game growing up too. I also would like to see that one. Which I probably wouldn’t buy it though. I am kind of mad at pogo for charging 16 gems for each mix and match challenge (which to get them all is about 9.99 for the gems). I didn’t get the ones for April due to principle and I have about 188 gems available! Instead.. I sent pogo an email telling them why I didn’t buy them this month.

I would really like to see Pogo bring UNO to the list of games on Pogo.. Ive always love that game, another one is the game called headache, it is a fun game just like Sorry. Another one is double solitaire.. But I guess we will have to sit back and wait to see which pogo brings out.

It seems like a lot of people really like Uno and Life and would like to see them on Pogo — Life is a Milton Bradley game (a subsidiary of Hasbro) so we might see it. I thought Uno was a Hasbro property too, but I was wrong, it’s a Mattel game, so we probably won’t be seeing that on Pogo. As I said, though, the Xbox Live version of Uno is fantastic and a ton of fun as you can even voice-chat (and video-chat) with people around the world.
I just got home from a fantastic day with family and friends and I’m about to fall over in exhaustion, so I’ll be closing this one out now. Thanks everyone, and we’ll talk to you next weekend!
